I've looked at those, and was considering them. They're expensive, but I certainly want to have the stopping power, so I'll probably go ahead and make this part of the build. Thanks for the advice 🙂
FSD warning red was for using the phone, the interior camera watches for that. There's no induction charging in 2019, it's just a rubber top that you're missing I think. Maybe you can get the tax credit since you're technically the second owner? I can't recall if it's the control arms, forums should tell you typical replacement for a clunk noise. Carbon fiber is aftermarket. You might need better brakes.
Oh, very interesting, I didn't know the car could actually tell I was using the phone - that's wild. Good to know about the induction charger - hopefully the one I bought will fit. Unfortunately I don't think I qualify for the tax credit due to household income threshold. I'll be jacking the rear of the car up soon, after my jack pad "pucks" arrive to investigate the clunk. Hopefully you're right, and it's just control arms! Once that's fixed, I'm going to track the car in it's stock state to get a baseline understanding of it's current abilities - I'll let you know about the brakes - hopefully they'll be sufficient since they are the Performance ones, but it does look like Mountain Pass has some even larger brake sets, so maybe I will upgrade at some point just to get the best stopping/slowing power I can. Thank you for all the advice! It's much appreciated!
Oh boy. Nice car! I fear for some issues when you attempt to register this vehicle. How did the guy you bought it from charge it if he never actually owned it/ registered it?
Yeah, this is a "high risk, high reward" scenario. The previous owner DID own it, he just never registered it. I have no idea how he added it to his app and charged it though. He lived in an apartment complex and parked it on the street, so he had to get charging from some external source. Regardless, I was at the DMV yesterday, and I wasn't able to fully register the car yet - I'm waiting for the seller to sign the odometer attestation, and after that, it should be fully registered with plates and sticker.
@@rollingstocks good!! Give that beauty her rest and hopefully she'll treat you right. I'm about to make mine my daily driver for a year or two. Good luck with the Tesla!
Very cool project. Subscribing to see how it turns out.
I'd recommend a Mountain Pass Performance brake kit as well, those stock brakes over heat pretty quickly

Teslas only became CCS compatible with the adapter in those built starting in mid 2020. Just wanted to let you know.
Ha! Good to know. Unfortunately I paid a guy at a supercharger like $300 for his - at least I know why it didn't work now - thanks for the tip 🙂
