As others have said it, WE WANT MORE of this format! You guys need to go on road trips. Yeah, I know that's a hassle. Lot of footage, lot of organising. But still. This is great!
I noticed on a lot of Model 3 videos, the 0-60 is downplayed a bit by the idea that it's becoming normal for EVs to be quick. But that really just isn't true. Dodge making their hellcat switch to EV and actually losing slight speed was a good example that it's not a guarantee. The Ioniq 5 N you mentioned is still a full 0.4 seconds slower than the new model 3, which is absolutely massive in actual gap difference, and is 13k more in price. Of course other differences come into play with a larger car...but the end idea is very simple. Tesla stands out clearly. The model s plaid is the single quickest regular sedan. The model 3 is the single quickest car that the middle class can afford. And both dominate it. It shouldn't be downplayed.
Honestly I just love the episodes where Jack and Robert just chill in a car and talk about their experiences with it. You just feel like a quiet passenger on the backseat! =D

Gorgeous car. I want one too. I have a facelift Model 3 L-R. Just a note on the indicators and the gear selector. These both work really well in everyday use and you soon get used to them. Don't let these small details put you off a great car.
As a Model Y driver, I think the indicator/druve selector IS a deal breaker. Other manufacturers are catching up with Teslas class-leading technology, and physical buttons etc are CLEARLY better than trying to select options from a screen whikst driving.
I have a Y and a new 3 and it is totally not a deal breaker, they are just as easy to use (probably easier). Also the new 3 has the auto select feature (it selects the gear for you most of the time)
Have you never used the voice recognition? It's very rare I used the screen other than for navigation. Open butt hole for the charge port is amusing. Defogger on to clear front screen. 100's more are available.
They 'bounce off one another' really well. Maybe more videos of the two different points of view, 'coming at matters from a different starting point'. IMHO this sort of video works well for a wider range of people.
We just purchased the "Highland" Model AWD and after leasing 2021 Model 3 RWD & MOdel Y AWD we decided to purchase our next Teslas. I was waiting for Cybertruck as my oversized daily driver and road trip vehicle while the Model 3 was my wifes commute vehicle. I was getting close to lease end on my Y and with the Cybertruck overpriced and not yet available to me I found a Used Model X 100D 6 seater with under 50K miles on the ODO for under $40K. It had EAP which I quickly upgraded to FSD ($2K) which included an upgrade to HW3. I'm all in on the Model X $42K and love the car. It is in near perfect condition. My interest in the Cybertruck has lessened but that could change is a few years as the prices come down and bugs get worked out of that controversial but technology advanced truck. Driving the Model X is so thoroughly enjoyable that it will be hard for me to make a switch and if and when I do it will certainly be another Tesla..
I’ve driven the new model 3 and the old model Y back-to-back. The new model 3 is much better. The reason I suspect they may not be selling as expected, is many want a model Y and are waiting for the Juniper.
Hmm, typical Fullycharged episode, really enjoyed it. Though a potential controversial company, you produced a well balanced review, great fun, thanks.
I agree with almost everything said about the updated model 3. It is such a good car in so many ways, price, range, software but and its a huge but indicator stalks or more correctly lack of is plain daft. If it was only that I could get use to it/overlook it but no driver display is a safety hazard. There is just no need.
I like the format of this video, but I wish you had turned on the "voice isolation" feature in your video editor to clean up the background noise in the audio. (That's what it is called in FCP and Davinci, Premiere doesn't have anything built-in, but you can always feed the audio through Adobe's Podcast AI tool, from what I've heard.)
How is it that Jack looks like a fully grown adult in his videos but looks like a young kid in this one? Anyway, I always love when two or more of the team get together for a video.
I enjoyed the review and chat. Well done! I absolutely hate the on-screen shifting, which is a pain for multi-point turns or if you don't have a long reach. Some drivers may not even have an arm on that side. What I think would be good is to have voice command gear-changes, e.g., "Gear DRIVE" or "Gear Reverse". This needs to be done in a way that it's not easily confused with other commands and should obviously be disabled above a certain speed, say, 5 mph. This way, changes are fluid but can't be done at highway speeds accidentally. I'm not sure why Tesla hasn't already done this, but this idea seems like low-hanging fruit.
Seems like Tesla are refining the right things in their cars but still need to scale up the after-sales network. Insurance prices in the UK are eye watering. I got several quotes for my Model Y LR which were way more than a Porsche Taycan 4S of nearly twice the price. In the end I went with a quote which was only 2.5x more than the Model 3 LR it replaced.
I daily drive a Gen 1 Leaf and am wanting to grab a base model 3 at some point soon. Which year should I look at if I plan on driving it till the wheels fall off?
Love the driving chat - would love more. I would have loved to see Jack adjust the front/rear bias via track mode - Is it not yet implemented on the new performance? Robert, a carry over from a previous video of yours, what happens when you press the button on the turn signal stalk multiple times in your Model 3 LR? (why are you still adjusting wiper speed via the screen?)
Drive selection, indicators, wiper controls, ventilation etc are all fundamental controls that should excellent ergonomics and simple interfaces. We shouldn't be glossing over this stuff when a manufacturer gets it wrong!
Less regen is something I noticed on my LRM3 (highland) coming from a 2021 LRMY. I wish I should make it more aggressive, but don’t think it’s adjustable anymore.
I just got the 2024 Model 3 RWD (have a 2021 Y performance too) and it's amazing howe much better the new model 3 is (it replaced a 2021 model 3 LR), properly great fit and finish now, zero hard plastics anywhere in the car and so quiet and comfortable to drive. Tesla are back to making the best car again. Also - you totally get used to the drive selector and the turn signal buttons.
I will never forget the expletive laden video of Rob flooring a Tesla Model S for the first time. Anyone who hasn't experienced the brutal power of a Tesla needs to get a test drive or get in the passenger seat while someone is (safely) gunning it. I floored a Tesla Model 3 at Fully Charged Live in Harrogate last year. I did a standing 0-60mph and by the time I'd registered reaching 60mph I was already at 70mph. And as Rob said in this video that's not even nearly the fastest Tesla. Whatever you think about Elon, Tesla or stalk-free indicating Teslas have been and remain game changers and standard setters. Get that Model 2 on the streets Tesla! And it would be nice if you rolled out a few Roadster 2 units as well.

Love the shirt, the car and red like this is also the colour of North London last time I checked 😅
@PJWey haha I'd get a white one!
all congrats to the video editor with the color balance it is phenomenal
14:40 excellent ending
As a Model Y driver, I think the indicator/druve selector IS a deal breaker. Other manufacturers are catching up with Teslas class-leading technology, and physical buttons etc are CLEARLY better than trying to select options from a screen whikst driving.
I have a Y and a new 3 and it is totally not a deal breaker, they are just as easy to use (probably easier). Also the new 3 has the auto select feature (it selects the gear for you most of the time)
You do have to basically stop to change gears in any car...
Have you never used the voice recognition? It's very rare I used the screen other than for navigation. Open butt hole for the charge port is amusing. Defogger on to clear front screen. 100's more are available.
I also drive a M Y and all of the controls are fine.
@@aaronbounds1336 I agree and the new controls on the 2024 Model 3 are fine too.
Love the Acceleration move in the ending Jack, well done
They 'bounce off one another' really well. Maybe more videos of the two different points of view, 'coming at matters from a different starting point'. IMHO this sort of video works well for a wider range of people.
Good to see the two of you reviewing a car from your individual perspectives
That is a real favourite road of mine, a real driving road! Love it every time I drive it. Oxfordshire at its best!
Great episode!!!
I’ve driven the new model 3 and the old model Y back-to-back. The new model 3 is much better.
The reason I suspect they may not be selling as expected, is many want a model Y and are waiting for the Juniper.
Such a great video, love the drive and chat approach, please do more!
"Fly Emirates" - never thought about seeing that on this show 😆
Emirates and UAE can go LDAR
Hmm, typical Fullycharged episode, really enjoyed it. Though a potential controversial company, you produced a well balanced review, great fun, thanks.
Great video, love the format
I agree with almost everything said about the updated model 3. It is such a good car in so many ways, price, range, software but and its a huge but indicator stalks or more correctly lack of is plain daft. If it was only that I could get use to it/overlook it but no driver display is a safety hazard. There is just no need.
if tesla removes the steering wheel people will tell ohh it's not a deal braking thing 😂
More Jack and Robert videos like this plz 🙋🏻♂️😁
I like the format of this video, but I wish you had turned on the "voice isolation" feature in your video editor to clean up the background noise in the audio. (That's what it is called in FCP and Davinci, Premiere doesn't have anything built-in, but you can always feed the audio through Adobe's Podcast AI tool, from what I've heard.)
Premiere does have it built-in, it's called Enhance Speech if you look in the Essential Sound panel 👍
@@SwitchedOnNetwork cool, didn’t realize Premiere had this feature!
@@coder543 It's only been baked in fairly recently - does all the processing locally using your GPU
Indicator stalks work. I'm down for evolution and improvement, but buttons on the wheel aren't convincing me.
Yeah just seems like a needless distraction from driving
I liked the turn Knob on the top of the dashboard which operated the Trafficators, it worked fine for me!
For people that absolutely must have stalks, can buy them from a 3rd party.
The ending is absolutely class 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jack is sooooo good at his job.i bet he’s good to sink a few beers with too. He’s going places
urgh
pretty damn good package.
Drive selection, indicators, wiper controls, ventilation etc are all fundamental controls that should excellent ergonomics and simple interfaces. We shouldn't be glossing over this stuff when a manufacturer gets it wrong!
Wrong in your opinion perhaps. I like these changes and NO STALKS
So much fun, guys…I larfed and larfed!🇨🇦
And for those who need stalks, can now buy them 3rd party for about $500.
Car review via a chat, 10/10 - no notes!
