    I've checked out several videos on this specific watch. This one, by far, is the clearest and most descriptive video I've seen so far.

    Love this watch, and can't believe it didn't come with an operator's manual....and none can be found online to download! Very grateful this video was made as it explains every function in less than 4 minutes. Very well done! Thumbs up!!!
    I do dread the day the battery dies...there is no clear explanation anywhere as to what to reset and how.

      i just got my battery changed today. is easy: just check the calibration of the fourth hand (last part of the vid), then you can calibrate the compass and set the tide.

    Wow! This is how a watch video SHOULD be made. Excellent! Like the watch too; perhaps you should have mentioned the compass sensor is digital and not analog (the display is of course analog). It probably uses a magneto-resistor chip.

    This is the only video you need to watch after replacing the battery. The manual woefully doesn't mention that everything resets after a battery change, nor does it explain the tide calibration or the most important (last part of the video), the intelligent quartz calibration. After a battery change (or hard shock), the compass button makes a beeping noise, the temperature is at 0 C. Start with calibrating the indicator needle (the longest needle - half orange half silver with a round hole on the silver side). If you pull the crown out entirely and the needle doesn't centre (orange part pointing to 'M' of TIMEX), then you need to calibrate it by watching the last part of this video. After you have done that, you'll notice the correct temperature readings and then you can proceed with calibrating rest of the measurements by following this video from the beginning.
    The only useful (or not so useful) thing mentioned in the manual is the compass calibration.

      I've heard you need to calibrate the compass everyday if you want to use it -- is that true? I'm considering buying it for the compass function but calibrating it everyday seems a pain in the ass

    • @riviol87
      @riviol87 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FffffffffffffffffffffffffffffL No need to calibrate everyday. Only if you been around highly magnetic places.

      @@FffffffffffffffffffffffffffffL Unless you are in presence of strong magnetic/elctromagnetic fileds, you don't need calibration everydays. I have required calibration only every 5-6 years when I change the battery.

    Great video; can you please clarify what the "forth hand" does? It is referenced at the end of the video.

    • @elihu6037
      @elihu6037 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the 4th hand is what the whole video (after time and date setting at the beginning)... it is the compass hand, the temperature hand and the tide hand, all one hand (called, the fourth hand). The end of the video is simply instructing how to calibrate the 4th hand if it gets a little out of whack.

    Does anyone else have issues with the compass? its never correct it will jump almost 10 degrees in either direction almost anytime I use it. I'm sad about this. I love the style look and waterproof capabilities but the compass not working is really bumming me out. Ive had to reset my tide 5 times this week to get it to read accurately. Im not loving it as much as I wanted to.

    I mean the red needle which belongs to tide function gain so fast as minute hand. Moon completes its cycle in 29.5 days almost 30 days so we can predict when next tide occur which are come each later 15 days later if I set my watch on the new moon night at 12 o'clock and needle pointed over high tide logo then my needle has to come at lower tide logo within 15 days but its running too fast as minute hand please let me know buddy how do I manage all those things ?

      For one Earth's rotation there are two tides (every 12h).

    • @elihu6037
      @elihu6037 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many people are unaware that there are 2 high tides per 24 hrs, and also 2 low tides in that same 24 hrs. Every day has 2 full tides (from high to low... twice). Many places, depending on geography of the location, seem like they only have one tide cycle (high and low), but most places on earth have tide cycles that vary enough so that people are aware of them. The watch records both high tides and both low tides in a day.... so breathe a sigh of relief, your watch is working properly

      tides are very complicated. I think this gives an estimate for the time of day and not the time of the month. I was hoping it could be more useful. But I guess you can just use a phone to get the actual tide info. Frankly I don't see much point in this ~12hr tide indication without more detail.
