- Today we go for a pleasure ride around Pattaya but unknown to us, the monsoon season is about to strike what may be it's final blow to the town. Our Ride Quickly Turns Wet, but weather during the next week appears light on rain, was this weekends epic storm the last of the rainy season?

Many years ago, when I was married with 2 small kids, my wife needed our only car to take the kids for a checkup. So, I rode my yamaha xs 850 into work. It was a nice morning in October. When I got off work, there was 3 inches of snow on the road. Ahhh, the joys of a motorcycle! Only made it home by riding with my feet as skis, and oh the looks I got.
Lolz, I used a KLR650 for transportation for an entire year, rain, snow, sleet or shine but there were a couple mornings of slushy roads. The good ole crazy days. 🤣
The pad kra pow variety looked awesome! Glad you two managed to have fun on a very rainy day. I certainly don't miss the rainy season in Thailand.
Pad Kra Pow Platters, fantastic! Good on you for taking a ride for kicks, knowing it may rain. At least the rainwater is warm. Might take a bar of soap and get a shower along the way. Vee is such a sport; glad to see her smiles. Your bike is ok in the rain, but some of those scooters need snorkles to get through. Thank for another episode. Cheers!

Yeah, I think we've had a few over night but of course they are drained by the time daylight falls.
You are so right when describing the various smells you encounter when on a bike. I've had similar experiences as a passenger on a motorbike taxi in Pattaya passing by the restaurants and street carts with the smells of different spices and seasonings for the soups and fried rice dishes, etc. Makes for an enjoyable ride to your destination. Nice video, glad you made it back safe through all the rain and flooded streets. Be careful.

Pad Gra Pow Gei is my favorite in Thailand and USA. Believe it or not, many Thai places do not sell Pad Gra Pow. I convinced my local Thai eatery to add it to the menu and it was a success.

I am there the 7th of next month for 30 days last time i was in pattaya in november 2019 it rained for around 15 mins on the second day there and never rained again in all the time i was there so lets hope this nov to dec is the same

Hi, Lucus & Vee, I enjoyed your video. This happens every year it is about time they tackled the flooding situation. The flooding is not good for businesses and tourists.
Also, it is a dangerous place to be because of the electrics in the water. I would not venture out on a bike maybe a car but if I could avoid I would.

It's one thing when you can see the pavement through the rain, but when it get so deep/mirky that you can't see it anymore and here comes that hidden pothole/sinkhole that wasn't there a day ago. OUCH. Got caught a couple times in California in rain. Nothing major, but it just messes with your head, mine anyway, when you can't see the pavement and unseen obstacles.
Yes, always scary when you can't see the road for sure.
You know what they say, no motorcycle season is complete without a good drenching. That desert and coffee sure looked worth it though!

Just hoping the long range forecast for Sydney doen't include any more as we are due to leave from there this year.

Water hyacinth. That guy was clearing away the hyacinth which is basically like kudzu. It can really choke off a waterway.

Not sure which one you mean, there is the residence garden? Never heard of Dream Pattaya.
It's in Na Jomtien it's a 36 floor condo and the name is the Residence at Dream Pattaya. It's near the La Royale condo. It's a 5 minute drive to the floating market.

I like those ARROWS on the road, those will come in handy after a few HOURS visiting the CANNABIS CAFE, so I can be reminded to ride my BIKE in the direction of the WRONG side of the road😵💫🥴
You should see 3rd road at night. There are literally thousands of light embedded in the road marking the lanes etc. Really trippy 🤣😂👍

I haven't seen or heard anything this year, I think they corrected the issue there.

I would assume there are some ants but I've never looked that closely I guess.
