- It took 3 years but finally Songkran is upon us here in Thailand and I leave Pattaya to show you a Songkran you've never seen before. The joy and euphoria here is why I love Songkran, and during one fleeting moment, I believe it is the best place to be on Planet Earth.

My late husband and I always wanted to live in Thailand...but then he passed suddenly in early 2016.
For that reason, I deliberately moved to Thailand by myself, taking him along with me in memory. I felt he was with me, beside me, on every journey there.

Wow Beverly that's pretty brave, I know a lot of couples talk about retiring in Thailand or other places in SE Asia but when it ultimately comes to make the move they find it too intimidating. To do it alone after suffering to the loss of your soul mate is very impressive and inspiring.

Thanks for showing us how Thai people celebrate Songkran. The sense of euphoria was evident. I remember being at Sanam Luang in Bangkok for the Kings Birthday on Dec 5th 2000 and also being pretty much the only foreigner. It never felt like a problem and a smile always went down well.
I'm moving to Phratamnak Hill in a couple of weeks, hope our paths will cross at some point.

I've watched about a dozen Songkran videos to varying degrees in length. This was one of the best. It seems to capture the true joy of the Thai people and their holiday. And I'm not just saying that. Some others came across as touristy, drunkeredy or mean spirited when it came to water splashing.

Watching your video brought back so many memories of Songkran holidays going back some 22 years. First of all, great video. I’ve celebrated Songkran in Korat, Bangkok, Pattaya and Kantalarak (Si Sa Ket). My best Songkrans have been in Korat and Si Sa Ket, ones with Thai families to be my guide. Your absolutely right about the joy, happiness and good will shared by the Thais. I’m very blessed to have experienced the authentic Thai version of Songkran. Now I’ve had great times with all the Songkrans that I’ve participated with, just the one’s spent with a Thai family are much more meaningful and fun. Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.

After watching you guys for a few years with your interesting video reviews I like everyone was saddened by your loss. Tonight I lost my Father and its so strange living in happiness in Hua Hin while losing the old man back in the UK from a stroke. It gave me inspiration watching the bravery and acceptance that you and especially Thais have to passing on the next life that awaits. We in the western world don't talk enough about the ineveitable.

I was there In Bangsaen I live here and did the full 5 days, full on rave on ko lam Road, sukumvit road, beach road, until at least 5am everyday, 1000's of people and never saw one incident of trouble, got to love these people

That's how Songkran should be. Happy, chilled and loved up. No aggressive, drunken westerners trying to cause injuries or worse with their ultra over exuberance.
Yes, there is something about a lovely female caressing your cheeks with moist clay that keeps the temper in check preventing any aggression.

My condolences to you and Vee’s family, loved ones and friends…! The video from 10 days ago crushed me when Vee said to us: “I love you all” It was sincere…she knew she was about to depart this world for her next journey…! She will be missed and remembered…!

Brand new subscriber here.. From the US and working in Abu Dhabi 10 yrs. I was in Pattaya last month for Songkran and Im having withdraws so thanks for this vid. Very eloquent narration and excellent videography. I started with your most recent until this one so I stopped here after seeing this impressive post and decided to comment. Great job and I will watch more previous stuff.
That was the best Songkran video ever, you said that you probably couldn’t feel the euphoria through the video. I’ll tell you my adrenaline was climaxing. I can’t wait to experience it for myself. We miss Vee hopefully our soul and spirit are being born in another body.

I loved this Songkran video the most Lou. Great job. The fact that it was an all Thai experience made it so special to see. The tourist areas don't grasp the "washing away the last year" and happy feelings from every single face you see like this group had. I loved it. When I experience my first Songkran it will be in Bang Saen 100% Thank you and Vee again.
