I stayed in this hotel about 6 years ago right after they changed from the Dusit chain. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel but they do a fantastic job. Thanks again for the videos. Keep up the good work.
Baraquda is my favorite hotel in Pattaya, very convenient location, everything you need is nearby, decent rooms and extremely friendly and helpful staff. 100% recommendation
Good to hear the other bike is ready for the road, looking forward to your review of it. I have restored a few bikes in my time and can vouch for the fact that there are ups and downs involved but when the problems have ben ironed out there is a real sense of satisfaction.
Besides being cool hand Loucous, you're the "Bacon🥓ator" the Barracuda is a Jetson's hotel🛸 cool look. Those balloon parties are always fun🎈🎈🎊
I can see why you are moving back to Pattaya - you will definitely be one of the bars best customers- I love your enthusiasm for breakfast. No matter how early I wake I can't normally eat until 10 am.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel before. It cost us 3000 baht per night. But that was before the wuhan virus situation. 1600 baht per night now is highly discounted. Cheers have a great time!

Hey fox, you showed us a multitude of hotels across the constituency of pattaya and there is still a lot, it is growing like mushrooms in an area full of tourists . In the nineties, when I visited pattaya four years in a row, where the price of hotel rooms was three times cheaper than recently. So, thanks my friend ,enjoy and stay safe.

Stayed at the Base 2018 and on beach road in 2019 not far from the Barracuda its a great central area to stay and all within walking distance the hotel looks awesome got even better when the bacon arrived looking forward to returning asap when this pandemic is over been visiting since 2004.
I used to stay a lot at Pattaya Bay Resort on the back side of Barracuda (tucked back in opposite where you went in to park) and when Barracuda was brand new I tried it out for a weekend. It was nice, but about $100USD and I didn't feel it was worth it when i was paying $28 for all I needed at PBR. I understand after sitting empty for 4yrs that the PBR reopened under new owner, name and renovation. id love for you to try it if you are open to it just for nostalgia and I know a lot of folks on your channel probably stayed there too back in the day. or just ask for a room tour lol. cheers, keep the condo tours coming too

Good news... On my first ever visit to Thailand 4 years ago visiting Pattaya, I spent my first 6 night in the Barraquda, top place! 😁
Bad news... You opened the door for your buffet breakfast, and you didn’t invite your lady to go through before you, naughty boy!! 🙄
It seems like you were in the same room as me, I was on the fourth floor, out of the lift and left, first room on the left, pool view, room was identical! 👍

Hi Lucas. Stayed there earlier in the year and enjoyed my stay there. Excellent location. The room was great and the work station was excellent if you need to work from there. The only minus was the sink basin is part of the room rather than the bathroom. No big deal. I didn't mind the small buffet as it had what I wanted including real coffee. It was semi al carte because you have put in order and would take your coffee order as soon as you sat down. As for the bacon, I did notice they put out a little bit at a time. Guess they were big no wastage, which is fine. Wouldn't rate I as 5 stars but rather a very good four-star which IMO are the best to stay in. Damm, you got a good price. Will stay there again. Cheers.

My mate and I stayed at the Barracuda Christmas 2019. It wasn't exactly cheap but bearing in mind it's Christmas we new it wouldn't be. I agree with one of the other comments on here that the room had a few "bumps and bruises" but the location is great. The staff are super friendly and helpful. My room was quiet for the most part unless they had an "event" which normally means music by the pool which means no peace in your room until the event is over. My mate, on the other hand, had a room facing the road which is second road facing the Bodega Bar....his room was noisy ALL THE TIME....Overall, it's a nice quirky hotel in a great location but not 5 star. I'll maybe try the Avani or the Hilton next time. Great videos BTW. Cheers !

Where's that damn bacon 😂😂 you were not giving up! Buffet looked half decent really altho i do like it when theyve got a fresh omelette counter, love things freshly cooked.

I love that hotel. I stayed there last November and the breakfast buffet was amazing. The amenities and staff are amazing. Edit: the buffet was definitely better last year.

I stayed at the baraquda for a week i highly recommend this hotel, it’s central to everything. It’s also guest friendly. It was an absolute shame to see it empty even when I stayed there. It’s in walking distance to everything pattaya
I've been to the Baraquda a couple of times in the past and as I have a status with their mother company's loyalty program I got an upgrade to a suite most of the time. I enjoyed staying there, but actually prefer the Mercure (4*) which is about 100 m from Baraquda's back entrance. You normally get that for half the price of Baraquda.
Watched the whole thing and still waiting to see luxury and even 5 star.

A very nice hotel, room & bathroom are a decent size, good breakfast, although the balcony is a little small for my liking. I've checked out many 4 to 5 star hotels around Patts, & most have tiny balconies....something that i don't understand why (?) Thanks for your video on the Baraquda 👍
another one that might be fun for the channel is up on the north end, a 5star resort, Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort, again i stayed when it was brand new, but then prices doubled from $75 to $150/n and to me not a value, but i bet you can get an awesome deal now, beach view king room is great, pool is great, food is great (or was). cheers
I like watching your videos. I click like on all of them. Haha. I have stayed at the Baraquda once and Id call it a 4 star hotel that was a little dated. One thing I can say is that the location is prime and the price is good for a budget and the customer service is off the charts (at least it was for me). I still like the Avani but it does cost more. Hey have you done a review on the Hard Rock yet????? Thanks again for the great video.

Just found your comment after dropping my 10 cents worth here. Agree with you although good it is a 4 star hotel, but on a Pattaya scale the 5 star awarded could be forgiven.
Thats the first time i have seen the little electric scooters in Pattaya. Those rental scooters are everywhere here in downtown Tampa, Florida.

Thanks for the video. I have looked at that hotel many times but always fully booked so I have never had the option. The closest I came was a trip I was hoping to take this past August but that never happened.

Back in 1991 in Pattaya there use to be a hotel called Ocean View which of course is no longer operating. I had planned a snorkeling/spear fishing outing. I met the guy who was my dive partner and provided the boat and all the snorkeling equipment. We walked out to the area where he had parked the boat and had to walk out into the ocean to board it. Found that as I stepped out into the water I sunk down to my ankles in dark muddy sledge.

Same thing happened to go on a charter fishing trip.... and I believe someone else mentioned that Pattaya back then... still questionable... didn't have a water purification system....and you really didn't drink the water in 99 % of the place unless it was a sealed bottle.. and you wanted a steam shower after wading through the sludge to the boat... ahh yes, some things never change... and Pattaya is one of them...

Walk in rates are around that price I can confirm and that was years ago when prices were high in Pattaya before COVID years ago. I always liked the room design and low level is nice. Guest friendly and no overheads, at least not for me on the several occasions have stayed there and you get a courtesy call if the guest goes on without you in the morning to confirm your ok. Never a problem at the hotel and staff are lovely, ditto breakfast so cannot comment, mine was always San Mig lite anyway. Its no 5 Star hotel but for price, location and actual room its easily comparable to a similar spec room at the Hilton or Centara Grand Mirage which are much pricier and rooms do not offer much more. Its a good 4 star and ideal as it is not hit by coach loads of tourists and that again was Pattaya prime time so must be real peaceful now. I used to check in there if downtown watching boxing in a Sports bar with friends and did not want drive back drunk to the Darkside and plus it was a break away from her indoors, recommended and good upload.

A very nice hotel, and i do agree with your description of it being one of the lower budget 5 stars. but nevertheless, i thought that it was still very good value. I'm pleased but a bit surprised that some of these bars are still open. How they are coping, i just don't know. I hope your move goes smoothly BTW. And I can totally understand why you would want to down size your bike to something a bit lighter, if you're planning on staying more local for a while.

Lifeguard stand - they tried those in the late 2000's; had several along the beach, manned for a couple of weeks, then empty, rusted and fell apart and eventually taken away after 6 months or so. No doubt the same will happen again.

That is unique Room for sure , in good way , can pay £120 night basic hotel in UK , Hotels and transportation value for money Thailand , you are putting out 5 star Vlogs such pity that many of us can’t get over to experience all your experiences you must feel that way yourself, you have wealth of information that unfortunately at moment is being kinda wasted ,
When you do Room tour can you add Mattress quality, even lift up sheet a bit to show quality, soft medium or firm etc , bed comfort such important issue 🥰🥰😎😎
Bed was good but not quit as soft as some other 5 star properties I've stayed in.

InterContinental Pattaya Resort
Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya
Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort
By international standards, only the Intercontinental & Hilton would be likely to received 5 star ratings by an organization like AAA (but they only rate hotel in the U.S.). But the 5 star alliance rates the hotels above as the only 5 star hotels in Pattaya. Centara is more a family resort. Siam & Dusit have beaches on site which helps boost their ratings.
