Car looks bad ass love the stance exactly what I'm looking for I have a 2000 grand marquis same color I will be following your steps thanks for the video
Thank you. I've Envision on my Vic and I've been slowly and gradually improving the look on this car. I'm so near to finish that. I can't wait to see it painted of course I'm also doing the paint job.
Hey man. If you look under the car you will see that frame is sitting on bump stops. Did the coil and half with mine too... Then i removed bump stops to trim them some and car lower even more making it undriveable.
I have driven the car on rough road conditions and I still have good suspension reaction. I didn’t mess with the bump stops cause I had a pickup truck with bump stops removed them and I had created damage to the truck.
Surprisingly. It clears and it turns at 180. Left and right without any problems. Now if looking to lower your car and it's a 2003 - up. Coilovers will cost 800.00 to 1000.00 bucks. So i would also cut springs in the front but only 1 ring.
So the ride is quite smooth. I take corners better than stock high Doesn't roll into the turn. Well I don't really hit bumps but it tends to take it pretty well.
I might do this with the fronts, the MOOG replacement rear ones are $60, but I appreciate the budget minded lowering, I can't afford $600+ coilovers for the front
@@t.i.m.gthisisntmygarage1241 thanks for the tip, I have to balance my want for lowness and the reality of living in upstate NY, and the obnoxious amount of snow we get up here
It's not so much of inches. Depending on how low your trying to go. So if you're going with 1.5 to 2 inches. You'll cut just one ring. If you're going lower then cut a ring an halfway point. But keep in mind that once you cut install it. Take a look and turn your wheels left and right for fender clearance. I hope this help you some. If you have more questions. Email me your number and I'll hit you up. Rodriguezcm1972@gmail.com
Rear pigtail springs shouldn’t ever be cut. The top and bottom have perches that the smaller pigtail area of the spring fit on and keep them from coming out. The front on the other hand can be cut with no problem because it’s a different style spring.
Yes. You are correct but considering that I have not had any problems in my past with this I would continue to cut spring and this is a budget build. Don't forgot to subscribe
I’m theory if you take the rubber stopper that the pigtail sat in put it might fit I would personally put the cut part of the spring towards the axle that way you sit it flat and the pig tail sits on top 🤷🏻♂️
I'd like to raise my crown vic 3 inches to get over all the speed humps in Chicago.. When you hit one of those at full speed when it's snow-covered, it's a religious experience...
So you like to raise your Vic. Nothing wrong with that I've been a low rider a guy for long time. 3 inch kits they usually run any where from $1000 to $1500. I would never go full speed over a pot hole or speed bump. We have them here in Georgia.
After i did the drop. I took the car down a s curves and it handle just fine. The car doesn't lean hard into the turn. It takes the curve very well. The high of the car from stock. It's a 1 3/4 to 2 inches in the front. The rear is 2 inches. Also 18 inch wheels should fit and clear fenders while turning.

Good instructional video. And your car looks great! Do you get any rubbing?

Thank you!! For the video!!
You’re welcome
Nice job nice look
Best thing to do is get mustang coil springs
Looks good, is your camber very negative now..? Wheels tucking in at the top?..👍
It’s tucking at the top. I do have a camber on top but it’s not as bad as it looks. Tires look to be wearing out evenly.
Looks good man I have 08 vic I plan to lower soon. When you go over speed bumps do your vic scrape? How many inches did you lower your car?
I recommend to just do one coil no more
Great video !! Just wonder is your crown vic 2003 or older ?
I have a 98 vic. Thank you
Nice job bro, how's the ride quality? And how does it handle bumps?..I got a 94 town car that Im thinking about doing this to
So the ride is quite smooth. I take corners better than stock high Doesn't roll into the turn. Well I don't really hit bumps but it tends to take it pretty well.
Good to know! Guess I'll get busy! Thanks for the reply 👍
No problem I have more videos on the crown Victoria and more coming. Don't forget to subscribe to see when I post.
How many coils did u cut in the front
1.5 coils but I recommend you cut 3/4 to 1 coil and see how it sits.
I might do this with the fronts, the MOOG replacement rear ones are $60, but I appreciate the budget minded lowering, I can't afford $600+ coilovers for the front
Don’t cut 1.5 coils. Cut 3/4 of a coil see how she sits before going into a whole coil.
That’s for the front wheels

Yo bro , car looks great . is it the same doing a 2006
You can just cut one ring and see how it sits.

No problem nonetheless any information is better no information. I'm always open to suggestions of any kind.

The weight of the car will keep it in it will not fly out regardless

I’m no where near or by your location I’m in Georgia
Its not to bouncy ?
It's not bouncy. It's solid 💯 takes turns beautifully and it doesn't lean into the turns like stock height.
