Tons of comments on here about discrepancies between factory horse power and what the car made before the turbo install. Factory is measured at the flywheel. They measured it at the rear wheels. 50-60 horse power loss through drivetrain not uncommon on a rear wheel drive car. It made 200 hp before turbo install at the rear wheels. After turbo install and tuning it made 368 at the wheels, but that’s not the real story. It made 410 lb ft of torque. Americans buy horsepower, but they drive torque. Torque is what launches that boat, horsepower is what gives you top end speed.

Beings you have done so much to this P71, and beings you had her torn down most of the way anyway, I wonder; Why didn't you also upgrade the intake manifold?
I very much doubt you gained any HP by replacing intake manifold with higher flow rate without fuel air remap. In fact you likely lost HP as you've increased volume of air and decreased pressure thus decreasing flow rate.
@@maxdm1583 I don't give a rats-ass what you believe. I drove that car for three years before the intake broke, leaking coolant like crazy, and I had to replace it. It's built before catalytic converters so it runs good on regular gas.
I bought a 1965 F100 stepside with a 160 inline 6 in 1970, found a wrecked state troopers car it had a 390 intercepter dual 4 bbl required 100 octane due to compression drove it thru high school.
When your excited to see the Buick....
And you see a damn crown Vic
It's cheaper for the same look. It's perfect!
jeremy brooks *you're
joseph migliore autocorrect failed me but thank you for the heads up brother
jeremy brooks You’re welcome!!
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
I love the panther platform. I wish you guys did more videos on it.
Cops and cabbies miss the hell out of it
Looks better than 4th gen mustang if you ask me
Who needs a tanning booth when you have a welder. Killing 2 birds with one stone. 👍👍
Love the intro blues brothers to the max
This is literally a Jimmy John addition. I thought Power Nation did professional work? This is shady tree at ABSOLUTE best!!!!!
That torque curve 😍
perfect timing that this video came out, a lot of 30 crown vic ppv's just went up for sale for less than 4 grand in florida, and im planning on picking one up as a project car.
Nice work guys
Less than 4 grand? I paid 805$ for my 08 a little over a year ago.
I paid $500 each for the 06 and 08 I picked up last year. Both running/driving with less than 150K miles.
ok... I don't get it... Is it the way you found to get the HUGEST turbo lag you could get?
It actually doesn’t increase turbo lag at all. That’s been debunked so many times.
Damn, I wish Spike was still around. As a kid I would watch Powernation, Trucknation, and all of those shows on a Sunday morning. Same with Speed Network. What a shame
Sit on the side of the highway with a part of binoculars and scare everybody who drives past
That's funny.sadistic mind.
wouldn't work. NO police use this car anymore. Would only fool a fool.
@@guysteel its easier to fool someone than convince them that they have been fooled.
Actually they are still in service and still see them from time to time, so I'd still respect them just to be on the safe side lol
@@mrford203 you know what? My freind; rationally speaking. What you think is"law" is not correct. Re ' think what you see
Lt telling the welder to stay put is very relatable
Dont give me wrong this is a really cool project but i dont get it putting a turbo underneat the car it make no sens plus you cant drive it when it rain or on snow or even gravel road... damn thats wack ! But i love the show the work and idea its just my personnal opinion keep up the good content !
moto4power. I would rather supercharge too, but it was cool to see how it was done. This option is definitely a cost effective way!
It's been done alot, works great just need some intake shields
Cody Parker. I want to do this to my 13 Ram!
@@codyparker679 No it doesn't. Super hot intake flow. Awful throttle response.
They use whatever parts some company wants to give them. In this case an STS rear mount turbo kit. A Vortech supercharger for a 4.6 mustang would have been a lot easier to install.
I seen one of these. With a Ford 5.0 Coyote engine in it. With a twin turbo Hellion system in it OUTSTANDING! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A 5.0 Coyote is what I'd like to put in my 71 Ranchero
@16:37 100% CNC block? LMAO
It's amazing how many facts this show gets wrong. It's like the writers write anything they want
Great intro and project, very cool. Keep this kind of material coming and stay safe.
I see you didn't change out the intake manifold. When mine failed on my 2007 P71, I replaced it with a Dorman with a higher flow rate. It gave me a noticeable increase in hp.
I now get a little better gas mileage and a noticeable increase in pick-up. Now call me a liar again. There always has to be a clown out there that believes they know it all.
The dorman intake notoriously robs HP from the Vic. Unless you got a different type
@@parkourpotato6066 I can only speak to what I see.
4:40 direct universal kit 😂
No Dukes of Hazzard jumps with that turbo hanging that low to the ground!
Crown Vic radiators are really low by the front bumper and tend to break very easily over small jumps. The turbo just adds another thing to fall off lol.
21:09 What to do with it? Give it to a vet in need of a car ( cough cough ) 😁✋🏿
@@masterspacetime2826 ohhhh you mean statistically low income kids without great skills that got conned by someone into signing on for a car and a promise of future money but then in actuality got trapped in the life and couldn't escape and now has to deal with all the mental and sometimes physical repercussions when most thought they would be placed in a building handling paper work but instead got tossed into the field with a gun at 18-20? Ok funny man sorry your life's so bad.
You guys and Richard Holdener have convinced me to get a P71 and turbo it ;)
Air Filter under neath Car Suction Water and Dust 🚓💨
NIIIIICE!! Crown Vics are a BLAST to drive, especially with a few more beans under the hood! Well done guys!
Does everyone who owns a P71 have to make a blues Brothers reference, jeez.
yes
Always
PowerNation's Blues Brothers LOVE IT
NEEDS COYOTE SWAP
The 4.6 is just one below the coyote
I own a crown vic now I want that whole set up for mine
Love it!
If cleetus McFarland never showed the crown vics would this video ever been possible
Nobody even knows who he is 🤷🏾♂️
@@yuppppppl everyone knows who he is.. Especially in the car industry
20:30 How vertical do you want your torque curve?
Yes
Hearing that thing roar was the happiest I've been since Alyssa left
Lol..."direct universal kit"..
that is a heck ton of torque for a stock 4.6
The 4.6 2V loves making power people don’t seem to agree but this is proof 370hp and over 400 torque from a bone stock 2V with just a turbo a fuel system modification that’s pretty good
WTF. The first 4 min was a waste of time and disrespectful to the viewer.
They were doing a skit inspired by the Blues Brothers movie.
On the filtered side of the Turbo, a 90-degree tube up into the trunk would make for a closed air-box and avoid excessive dust and water infiltration.
Why do yall comment before you even watch it lol
Nicely done. Tom is ready for the big screen.
How could you NOT do the line about "my own brother, picks me up in a cop car"
I believe Cleetus McFarland would like to spray some nitrous on it lol
Crown Vic is a muscle car. Pure beef.
