I treat all delivery orders the same:
    1. Always take pictures with "leave at door" deliveries. Include house address or apartment number. ALWAYS.
    2. Send pre-scripted text message with picture: "This is Vee with (insert company here). I Just delivered your order. Enjoy! 🙂"
    Works like a charm. 😁

James W Bates, so question for you. I just signed up for Uber eats about 2 weeks ago. I have gone out twice so far. Twice now in the two times I have done it I got a delivery for a half hour away. So total time would be an hour of driving, half hour there and half hour back. That's even depending on traffic too! I'm just wondering how much could I take if I want to do that delivery? How much is a good payout? Also gas here in my state/city is $6.50
so also keep in mind of that. I just sometimes don't know if it's worth it to go all that way......

Ok so two things about Ubereats map....1) I've noticed that the map will pop up exactly how you last looked at it. Problem is if you have a delivery that is not within the map, you can't see it. What I do is zoom out the map far enough so the area I want to deliver in is taking up the top half of my screen. Then when I get pinged, I can see the whole map. Drawback is sometimes it is a bit far but I'm familiar enough with my area that I can tell whether the area it is taking me is good or not. Side note: It is a pain but you will have to zoom out your screen each time you finish a delivery so it will show the map you want it to show you each time. 2) The blackout screen....I figured out that happens when the delivery is outside the area that your map is set to. This is useful if you zoomed your map out because if you get the blackout then you know it is way outside your set map boundary.
I leaned all the stuff just by trial and error and quite a lot of frustration with the limitations of the Ubereats app.

Happened to me just last week. I was en route to pick up frozen yogurt to then drop off at a house 8 minutes away. It popped up with adding another drop off from the frozen yogurt place and I quickly accepted because I figured it would be in the same city. Two orders, same city, piece of cake.
Well. Turns out second order was FOUR CITIES away. I didn’t notice until I dropped off first order.
I did it of course because I didn’t want to cancel and figured no one from 4 cities away would order froyo but man I was soooo heated I could feel the fire in my face lol. I felt betrayed. But it’s on me to pay attention. So I’ve just learned my lesson. Not the end of the world.

I'm definitely going to start having the bag in the confirmation photo!
On uber eats I stopped taking stacked orders all together no matter how good they look. They don't tell you anything about the second order and in my experience it always sucks. The last one I took the second order was a pickup at a different restaurant which always adds extra time then the first order was only.5 miles away and the second one was really far into an area that has no restaurant's so it's double mileage and I'd have to hike all the way back to where I was to continue working.
Another thing I did learn though from messing around in the customer app is people can get much cheaper fees if they allow uber to tack their order onto an existing order. So they know it's a stack, and unlike doordash where you can take stacks in any order you want, you have to take the uber stack in order because the first person is paying more.

If your car has a GPS screen on the dash, you can scroll down after you have arrived and it will show you a picture of the house/apartment building for confirmation. It can still sometimes be 'off' a little, but confirming addresses is really important-best to do it several times for clarification.

That’s a great idea to include the bag in the pic! & Usually if i leave a pic, i don’t leave a note, thinking it’s too much but maybe it would be better to do more than less. I also really don’t like how u cant zoom out at all. Another thing is i REALLY wish u we would offer is not being black themed constantly (kinda like how spotify is too). a lot of apps came out with light & dark mode with iphones & apps were to now have a setting where u can switch it to change automatically between light & dark mode with ur phones settings! i find it way more difficult to read on screen writing when Ubers theme is always black on black.

Most of these tips apply to Uber Eats Taiwan where I deliver at. One thing different here is some traditional shops always make you wait around while they cook the food because they want it fresh as can be, and canceling that order would mean a possible wait time of 30 minutes to get the next order. Most Uber drivers who normally drive people, not food, reserve the ability to pick up food deliveries through Uber Eats. Most of them don't have totes, delivering cold food especially in winter regions. That is why I include a pic of my tote in Delivery pic since day 1.. so my customers know their food was delivered as warm as possible.

  • @letsdiscussit1

Mike...drivers should carry their hot bags, yes...but before they exit their car, they should write their name, date, customers name, on paper...stick it to hot bag. So when you take a pic of the food delivered...you also include the hot bag w the note on it. This will prove you dropped off the food, and have both drivers name, and customers name...plus date. Then drivers grab bag w note on it...start another order...

    • @yourdriverteam-matt1001
      @yourdriverteam-matt1001 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Stephano, some customers won't see you are even using it because of the contactless drop offs like you mentioned. However, if you're driving UE perhaps you could have a pre-typed message you can include in the notes of your drop offs saying, "Thank you for your order! I used a insulated food bag to keep your food hot and fresh! Thank you in advance for any tips" the last part about tips you can choose to add or not, but reminding them you are using a bag could help with tips. Tips are a bit unpredictable but this would let people know you go above and beyond! Definitely worth the investment.

I always write a drop off note in the all to them and wish them a great day. I’m never late and very friendly. I just started Uber Eats Monday and I get where you’re coming from as not being able to zoom in/out on the map when you’re debating on accepting an order. I hate that you can’t do that and I hope Uber fixes that problem. It makes more sense if you’re able to zoom in and out so you know where you’re actually going.
Another issue I had was when I was picking up an order, the app didn’t recognize I was actually at the restaurant, then when I started delivery, I kept getting an error message. So I had to make the delivery and try taking a photo but it was still giving me an error then call customer support. It was annoying but I still got paid. Unfortunately idk if I even got a tip or had it counted towards the points to become an Uber Pro.

    • @boohere2

I started Uber eats about 2 weeks ago. Only delivered twice now on two different days. I know I can't zoom in really either on the orders, but I can see if it's going to another city or how many miles it's going to take. So that's nice. I had actually a horrible experience in my first time delivering on my last order. The order was a half hour away and I got to the place. Only I didn't have cell phone reception. So I couldn't even contact the customer or take a picture of the food. It actually I found the person though. It was hard because it was at a hotel. The person did land up tipping me though so was grateful for that. Maybe you can answer this question though. Obviously you know people and myself get orders that are half hour away from the location of the restaurant. What is a good payout to accept? Gas prices here are $6.50 a gallon. I just want to know a good payout so it's worth me going that distance.
