The 2015 and up differential mounting points and rear subframes are different so it won’t work. 05-14 diff mounting is the same. My recommendation is to try and find a Getrag LSD rear end out of a 2010-14 SRT8
In a couple days in driving 3 hrs from home to get a rear end for my 06 daytona what tools do I need !? I don't wanna not have everything thanks for the vid
Breaker bar, ratchet, sockets, a jack and a pry bar is about it. I can’t remember what size sockets though. I think you also might need a hex key for the one mounting bolt at the front. I can’t remember. Search Google for “SRT8 rear diff swap 5.7 LXForums” and the post that I used should come up that lists everything you’ll need.
I can’t remember the socket size, but I bought the shallowest socket I could find and used a long breaker bar to reach them. Those bolts were probably the most time consuming part of the swap.
You can but you’ll need the axels and hubs from a 09-14 SRT, too. They use a Getrag diff which has unique components for it. But one nice thing though is you don’t have to change out the rear half of the driveshaft because it uses a 3 bolt flange like the stock R/T.
On the pinch welds below the rear doors. I jack it up by placing the jack under the diff with a piece of wood or something to protect the diff case. Once the rear is in the air I put the jack stands under the rear pinch welds and slowly lower it onto them. There is my problem, can´t find out what they mean with that. I think you´ve done the Change of the whole Diff with the case/Pumpkin to get another Gear Ratio, or is it also to could use the WAVETRACK LSD, too??? Take a look at my other Channel ( HEMI-spherical ) because there you could see "My Work", or even my Moded Daytona, what i moded into this, after i found/bought/brought from NC to me to Bavaria in Oct.2020 (Pics in the Channel-Pictures like the Engine Bay in the profile Pic and the side view at the page :)) However, i hade & have the premission to make this car even more reliable and durable, so i didn´t do only mods for the style or performance. I did many mods like a 15 Row Motor Oil Radiator/Cooler, with Thermostat that opens the big Motor Oil Circle at 180°F/82°C, (the same opening Temp at the Cooling Water Thermostat what i use, too) & i use 0W40 Mobile1 FS with additional ESTER Additives instead the "Chrysler Recommended MS6395 5W20", beause in my eyes it was a lot to thin at hot opperating temperatures, esp. at the stock opperating temps. What was even also the way why i use this Motor Oil Cooler, what lowered the Temp for round about 25°C at the same driving/temp-Conditions. And that´s something what i would recommend guys like you who´ve the VVT HEMI Generation. (Mine is the non VVT) but i did the lowering of the temps of Oil & Water esp. because i would do the right things against an issue what you could see quit often; "Dropping Valve Seat/Rings" --> And the next what i do to prevent that is a 2ndary Water Pump, what is now arrived and ready to build in; A little electric Water Pump, that runs for 5-10 Minutes after the Engine was shut off. Because that let the Cooling Water circulate in the time, the most people get an valve seat drop; When the engine was shut off in warm/hot opperating conditions, for example at an tank stop. Then they turn on the engine to drive away, but then a/or more valve seat dropped. And there is the real solution for prevent that, the 2ndary el. water pump that keep the water circulate for 5-10 minutes after shut off. Because heat/air bubbles come on, at the highest areas, what are allways the ares arround the Valves/Seats..That´s the problem, because Air cant take away the heat from the aluminium, what expands that to much that a valve seat can drop....& if you keep the water in circulation for the first time after shut off the engine, you can prevent that issue... BUT It´s also importand to bleed the cooling system & at best change bad cooling hoses Hoses & Radiators better before they´ll break. Because it´s a mix of things that would make that issue of dropping valve seats. It was/is also very interesting for me, that the passenger cars has more this issue. And that is the Kind of Cooling System what could make that difference between trucks and passenger cars with these engines. And so i searched for solutions. Interestingly, i´ve never seen anyone with these vehicles using such an el.Waterpump for hold the Water System in circulation for 5-10 minutes after shut off the engine. But that´s the best option of all for the prevention. I´m that guy that will make cars really really durable, also because i´ve to fix all by myself, and for exmpl your work for change the Differential could tell about why i like to make a car so much durable/reliable as i can. And hey, every kind of car, model and make has such "Build in issues" & they´re all different, but "Build in" in everyone. The trick is to find out wich are the most common, or like i even say "Build in issues" of any particular car you´re looking for befor you buy it, that you can find out before to fix it/find a solution. & there are too many cars/models out there, they´ve a lot worse such "Build in issues" like these! ;) And so i´ve choosen that particular car with the look for such issues & how i could fix that :) My comment could help so many with these cars i think & this summer i´ll do a Video for that on my car, esp. when i´m ready with these mods. The only one to do about that is to build in the 2ndary, el.Water pump for the circulation after engine shut off.
