I watched this 9 yrs ago. I loved it. These were so much fun! Made a couple totes for myself. My grand kiddos loved them made up in Halloween fabric for candy totes. Pretty proud of the bag I made for my daughter who is a kidney transplant Coordinator. She loves pockets, one on the front and several inside of the bag.
I truly enjoyed both parts of this tutorial. The energy and camaraderie between you both was so much fun to watch. I made this tote out of the matching fabric that I made a baby quilt and will put the baby quilt with it as a gift to the new Mom. Thank you so much for the great ideas and easy to follow lessons!

Love both of you. I've made this bag several times. Added pockets to the lining, & have used 1 fabric in outside & stitched wavy lines or whatever I felt like stitching in whichever direction I want. I also made pouches to match, & add loops to 1 side of pouch & 1 side of pocket to snap together. Can also snap keys or whatever onto it. The sky is the limit, be creative & have fun😁

I use to help my Step-Mom sew as a child. I needed a refresher course. She didn't like quilting and it's something I've always had an interest in. Though she made professional wedding dresses. :) I also get a lot of request for little projects. You two, Jenny and Vanessa are my go to for tuturials! I screamed like a girl at a boy band concert when I seen these videos! My daughters came running into the room thinking I seen a spider lol. I excitedly told them I had the best of both worlds! Yay! That topstitch around the top of the bag would be fun to show off one of the fancy stitches. You could even do fancy stitches on the straps

this tutorial makes me want to dust off the sewing machine and finally build up the courage to give quilting a try. i've sewn many a skirt/dress, but the many seams involved in quilting has always proved quite intimidating. a project of this size seems like a perfect way to get my foot in the door. thank you for sharing, and (although i am not the first to say it) you two are AMAZING together.

I have been looking at different ways to make project bags for my needlework/cross stitch and this one will be perfect since I have several cakes of beautiful strips of fabric. I already jumped on and ordered the new double sided foam/interfacing to use and I am excited to use it. Jenny & Vanessa Great Part 2 ... now I have to find part 1. Love the double sided fuseable foam and how well it works for the straps as well as giving shape to the bag itself. You two work great together. Great minds think alike.
I just love this! It's my first quilting project! I watched this video yesterday and made my tote today. My handles are not as awesome as yours, but I just LOVE it!
What fun! Working on my bag now. Taking your advice to make this bag my own and it will have pockets inside just because I have to have pockets. This video is still relevant 3 1/2 years later.
