    Definitely need a layer cake version!

    • @coreytibbs
      @coreytibbs ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn’t you just double the size?

    • @Amandy36
      @Amandy36 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@coreytibbs it would double the orginal size of the block. A bigger block would help a larger quilt come together faster than the small blocks made from a 5" square.

    • @gailjernigan2482
      @gailjernigan2482 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yes, please. I’m not into minis and would love to see this using a layer cake!

    • @nonyabizness.original
      @nonyabizness.original ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@coreytibbs almost, but not exactly. if you just doubled each cut piece, you would be doubling your seam allowance, which you don't want. so when you want to double the size of a pattern, you double each CUT piece and then SUBTRACT 1/2" on each side-- so you're not also doubling your seam allowance of 1/4" all the way around.
      also, when i see an already-made quilt i want to copy, i measure the size of each FINISHED piece in the quilt block, and then ADD 1/2" to each side to account for the seam allowances.

      You could cut a 10 inch square just like the charm square. The change would be the size of the half triangle rectangle. That’s he hard part. I would have to get out my graph paper, but this is a genius pattern! Natalie, you Rock!

    love how you can't see the lines where one block ends and another begins- a quilt with no block lines is like an outfit with no panty lines- aesthetically pleasing 😁. gonna double the block size and make this one with a layer cake, cuz in my older age, i no longer do tiny quilt pieces- or tiny panties 😁.
