  • Today I cook wings indirect and then direct over the coals. The Judge did another amazing job!

    Thanks for these videos. Nobody else is producing content for the Judge so these are invaluable. Cheers.

    In my smoke house, that wing would have been recovered. No one would have ever know. Looking tasty!

    Why don't you leave allyour grills in the judg and just swap the wings from end to end with tongs rather than waste 2 wings? Am I missing something here?

    • @GobbaGooBBQ
      @GobbaGooBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I do it this way for easier access to the charcoal. It’s not the best way and I should stop doing it this way but laziness wins sometimes! Great question!

    I enjoy the videos about the Oklahoma Joe's Judge grill / smoker. Could you do a comparison on The Judge vs. Offset smokers and bullet smokers?

      Thank you! Your challenge is a great idea, however I don’t have a wsm. I can use my pit barrel in replacement though. Stay tuned!!

    Not that it'll make a huge difference but the charcoal tray can go one level lower... However, great video! I never considered cooking the wings indirect first but I'll give it a try this week!

      Hi Nonya - Thanks for letting me know the charcoal tray can lower one more notch. I thought that was the lowest it could go. Thanks for watching and good luck on those wings.

    I can't make up my mind if I want to buy the judge or the longhorn smoker. Which one would you choose and why?
    I've never used a smoker before or have eaten anything that was cooked in a smoker so I don't know.
    I definitely would like to learn how to smoke a brisket or a lamb or even a fish, But mostly I would like to use it for everyday cooking, like steak, chicken sausage...
    I already have a Blackstone griddle so I only have room for 1 more toy, but I can't make up my mind.
    PS. I have lots of wood stored up from my oak tree that I cut down in front of my house and I want to use it.

      That’s a tough decision but I have guidance for you… The Judge is a great, fun and versatile BBQ that is unique and extremely well built. The Offset Longhorn will produce the ultimate flavor and is what the competitors use. It can do everything the Judge can do plus use split longs. Downside to an offset is it takes a lot of time and dedication to consistently tend to the fire so you’re only producing clean smoke and constant temperatures. Master the Offset and you are a Pit Master! And you have all that free fuel.

      In the area you can store a longhorn, you could park a weber 22" kettle, an 18" pit barrel cooker and a WSM
      If you can only get one more toy, to cook steak and chicken etc try looking at a kamado
      If you want to learn to smoke more than grill the Oklahoma Joe Bronco is hard to beat

    Continue to enjoy your videos! What are dimensions of that access door opening to the charcoal?

    • @GobbaGooBBQ
      @GobbaGooBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Willy - thanks for your support! The dimensions are 12”x6”. Plenty of room to fit your arm in!
