    I just started looking at this grill to replace my Dyna-Glo of 5 years. It was a great starter but looking for something with more durability. You sir with your videos have sold me on the Judge. I just want to thank you for doing these.

    Tony, absolutely love your videos. Just recently found your channel. I have been watching Chad's, mad scientist, T Roy and a bunch of others. I find watching your videos you communicate and explain things so much better than anybody I watch. Watching your videos are making me want a Char Griller Grand Champ and a Judge. The only thing is , I am running out of room. I currently own: RecTec RT 700, Weber Genesis 6 burner, Weber Smokey Mountain, Masterbuilt gravity, Masterbuilt chip burner,, Blackstone Griddle and SNS kettle. Watching you smoke, barbecue and grill is so entertaining and informative. Best Regards,
    Michael

      Hey Michael! WOW! Those are some big names you're comparing me to! That really means a lot to me, thank you!!! You've got quite a collection there. How's that Recteq working for you? I'd like see what I can do with pellets and if there's anything I can share in the future so I'm planning on adding one to my collection. You've definitely got some good tools there but if you've got to make some room for an offset and pit like the Judge, I'd say maybe the gravity and chip burner... it would be tough. Well I just moved and my new backyard is a lot different than the ones you've seen in my videos and I've got a lot of work to do. I'm just about ready to get some new videos up though. Just picked up a bunch of pork skins so, it's time to get Cracklin! Again, I really appreciate your kind words and please let me know if there's anything you'd like to see me do. Take care!

    Coming across some videos i haven't seen before, learning so much form you tony.
    With natural burnt ash lump charcoal or wood dont throw that away put it in your own compost bin or spread it around over the garden and water it into the soil ash is full of nutrients plants will feed on.
    It is why forests flourish after a fire burnt wood ash contains so much good natural chemicals for your gareden, brings down acidity your soil, please save it for personal use. Your own gardens will benifit from it 🍻👍

      You're right about that! It's been a few months since I made a video because I moved. I just uploaded a new video and as you'll see, I've got some work to do on my yard. That wood ash will come in hand for a garden I have planned. Thanks again for watching!

    I have only watched 2 of your videos - both of them regarding Oklahoma Joe's Judge grill. They were both informative and will assist me with making decision regarding my purchase. U mentioned Home Depot price in first video. That is still best price I can find. Did you get cover there as well? Haven't checked on that. I did have a question not related to the grill. You used lump charcoal in both videos. I have never used lump charcoal - only briquettes. You may have addressed this topic in another video - if so let me know and I will watch. Do always use lump coal? If so - why. I would like to try it - is there a learning curve to using lump coal? Do u like a particular brand? Lots of questions, but I have some hesitation trying something different when I am actually cooking. I look forward to viewing more videos as they relate to cooking and not just subject of the Judge grill. Thanks.

      Hey Wesley! Thanks for watching and for the questions!
      Yes, I purchased the cover from Home Depot. I ordered the cover at the same time that I ordered the Judge. Regarding Lump Coal versus charcoal... I use both. I probably burn lump coal just as often as I do charcoal briquettes. I think the flavor profile of lump coal is a little better than charcoal briquettes. I think it's something you should experiment with. I recommend trying it in a situation where there's no pressure. Perhaps for a cook just for yourself, just to see how it works out. There's a link in the description of this video where you can find my favorite brand. Hope that helps!

    I need a new grill . Had my char griller for 20+ yrs. It is between the judge or a Weber performer. This has about the same area as my current one and is what I am used to. Any advice or Weber experience? Thanks. As usual,great video.

    • @TonyToneBBQ
      @TonyToneBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Mark! I've got nothing bad to say about Weber products. You just can't go wrong with a Weber! Personally, I prefer the Oklahoma Joe's Judge Charcoal Grill for its adjustable fire grate, fire access door and heavy steel. I also prefer 90° angles versus round. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    How do you like the judge compared to the char grille offset?

    • @TonyToneBBQ
      @TonyToneBBQ  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Thanks for the question! You can't really put one againt the other, because they are designed for completely different purposes. It would be like comparing a rake to a shovel. Sure, you might be able to dig a hole with a rake, but it wouldn't be much fun. You could clean up the leaves in your yard with a shovel, but it would be a lot of work. I have to say the Judge is one of the best grills on the market for it's price point. It's adjustable fire grate and fire access door make it an awesome tool for direct heat grilling and even indirect heat cooking but for smoking large chunks of meat for 6 to 16 hours, a good offset beats the heck out of it. My offset does have a fire grate in the main cooking chamber that makes it easy to grill up some hot and fast steaks and burgers but it's a lot easier to hit perfect temps, get perfect crispy skin and prevent flair ups on the Judge. Having said that, if I had to choose between buying the Judge or the Char-Griller Grand Champ XD, I'd have to go with the Grand Champ XD because of the side fire box and although it's not as good as the Judge for direct heat grilling, it still can. I hope that help! Thanks for watching!
