My Spear-LT was manufactured the beginning of August 2023. The muzzle break did NOT have rocksett. However it was put on with retard strength. I tried everything to get it off. I finally found a video where a guy showed that a 3/4 socket will fit on the flash hider prongs perfectly and then he used an impact to get it off. This worked for me. But the impact had to be set to the highest setting. I've broken lug nuts off with this 20v DeWalt. That's how crazy tight this was on there!
Audio is horrable bro. Ive tinnitus so with the backdrop low volume and the random shots also its almost impossible to most for me. Otherwise im glad to see your still around do what you love Larry.

I bought one and I am going to NFA that rifle. I like it a lot. Lighter than any AK I got and AR controls. Best of both worlds!

Ive got the 11.5 version of the Spear LT. Its a extremly flat shooter and i love it. My only gripes are the spinning brace and the muzzle device thats a bear to remove. Had to put it in boiling water for 2 hours to soften the rockset and hit it with an impact and a 19mm socket.

Same here. Had to send an M17 back four times before it worked properly. Unfortunately this always seems to happen when a company becomes a gov't contractor and/or gets too big to keep an eye on detail. Had an M17 extractor that would not work with any 9mm ammo. Everything from blazer to Hornady and even Sig Elite. Locked up every 4 or 5 rds. Sig kept acting like it was my fault even though I provided ample documentation and photos of issues as they occurred. Finally had it fixed after a year and a half going back and forth. Never Again.
I have shot the Sig MCX Spear LT and ots okay. I liked the full ambidextrous nature of it like the bolt drop on the right hand side. The trigger is good as well. I don't like the stock however. I have the Sig MCX Spear in 7.62x51 and I like it. I still prefer the Scar 17 over it in a battle rifle role however.
When I spoke with Ken Hackathorn at NRAAM, he said you weren't doing too hot with the chemo back in 2022. I'm glad you've persevered and came back. Good on ya.
The most excited I've been for video drops in a long time. Side note is there no way to mitigate that background through audio setup? I feel like I'm not hearing either them that well.
Good to see you Larry. The Spear LT has all the weight forward, which isn't balanced well when you pick it up. Hard to improve on the AR-15 when the balance is so good.
@@MrJbedo It would, while also increasing overall weight. Due to the reality of ancillary system weight, a 5.56 blaster should really start off in the 5-6lb weapon weight to give yourself room for optic, mount, WL, LAM, and suppressor weights. Anything with an external piston and op-rod is going to violate that guideline out of the gate.
@@LRRPFco52 sure but once you add all that stuff to the front end it only exacerbates the problem. It's something the individual has to weigh out but id rather have a slightly more balanced weight with more weight than just less weight while feeling heavier regardless.
@@MrJbedo Agreed. The Sturmgewehr is a great example of that. Weight is over 11lbs loaded, but it feels great in the hand, points naturally. A 9lb AK does not. Same with an SVT-40 vs Garand or G43. The SVT handles and points naturally, very easy to run around with, shoot from positions. Dragunov feels the same way. Dutch AR-10s are also like that, with superb balance and feel in the hands.

I heard you need to soak I’m water for 24 hrs to loosen it. The flash hidden only. Rust scares me
I just replaced the flash hider on mine with a heat gun and an adjustable wrench. It came off with ease.

I've come to prefer a left-side charging handle over the AR style; it's easier to reach and operate.

I have shot the Sig MCX Spear LT and ots okay. I liked the full ambidextrous nature of it like the bolt drop on the right hand side. The trigger is good as well. I don't like the stock however.
I have the Sig MCX Spear in 7.62x51 and I like it. I still prefer the Scar 17 over it in a battle rifle role however.
The stock is one of the easiest things to change on a Spear, it takes seconds, compared to a traditional AR.
@@great_deception yes very easy. I have the 308 version and the stock on that is bad but easy to change. Nonetheless, its still a bad stock.

I think a good solid stock would hep bring the weight balance in the proper direction.
