LOL on the Patina, have never liked a nice car left with a trashy finish, they deserve so much more. My dad had a 57 Olds Rocket 88 4 door in Steal Gray with the J2 under the hood. Paul, thanks for the trip down memory lane for me . I spent a year in Yuma. I was stationed at Marine Air Station Yuma. I purchased my first car there. It was a 1968 Firebird,6cyl 3speed on floor. I really liked that car it was fun to drive. It was fun to hear you interact with the owners. Thanks again.
My dad had a Chrysler D500 with dual quad carburetor from 1956 and had a three tone paint job white, yellow, and black. I was about two years old when he bought it and remember this car. It had so much torque he had the rear an gear replaced a few times. He was a true hot rodder.

It absolutely could be color matched and made to look very original. That however be considered a repaint and thus would no longer be "original". Thanks for the comment Katherine 👍

Paul - what do they do for gasoline? Do they use today's unleaded or do they find and use leaded gas? Or does it even matter?
There are "lead substitutes" available but I suspect most people don't use them, especially if the engine was rebuilt with hardened valve seats.
