  • Don't you hate it when you want your humble space trading company to colonize star system Wolf 1061, only to find out that Big Giant Space Company beat you to it? Well maybe you can beat the competition to the stars in this new space exploration game from GMT Games. Will it be full of stars? Or will it never slip the surely bonds of Earth? Cody investigates.

I just got this game. I actually bought it based on your review. I really enjoy the game! Glad I saw your review

I like this game too! One of the things that I like about SpaceCorp is that you can use other players' infrastructure on your turn, but you have to pay them to do it. It sort of naturally leads to specialized corporations without the game forcing it.

I love your videos and I love your intros. I watch all of your vidoes to catch your puns and jokes and you often make me laugh out loud. Love your format and presentation. And I have followed your advice many times and they have been solid, both for buying and avoid buying. Thanks for sharing and making videos. Great stuff!

Cody!!! Man, I never thought I'd see this review but I really liked this game. My only problem was era three. I felt it went way too fast given the amount of cards you need to move. But It was a real interesting game.

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Yup. Seems like one of kind. I looked everywhere for anything like it but only found High Frontier which I'm not really ready for yet. This seems more accessible. Looking forward to playing it again! Glad you liked it.

I've enjoyed my plays of SpaceCorp... my single gripe - the solo game is too easy. Which sounds crazy coming from a Butterfield design... but it is. The random nature of the AI deck isn't quite aggressive enough imo, and it's not difficult to take down. Given his amazing earlier solo designs, this is a dissapointment, and I'll need to mod it in some fashion for a tougher challenge. It took me a slew of tries to get a 16 turn victory in DDay at Omaha beach, and I beat this AI by a margin on the first try... and then did it again on attempt 2.

I've only ever played it with four, so I can't comment. I think it would be good with two, however.

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer - Well, the main mechanism is to either draw cards or play a bunch of cards of the same color to affect the board. In my opinion, the core mechanisms are exactly the same. They are just different in what you do with the sets you collect.
I do like the multiple boards and eras though.

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Others have said the same thing to me. Some times mechanics are so unique/innovative/memorablen that for me it's impossible to not disassociate them. For example I also call Rising Sun glorified Puerto Rico. :) I love both games, so I don't mean it disparagingly in this context.
