Watched the video with anticipation, liked what I heard. Went to my local shop and had it done. I liked the startup and idle, hated the highway. Applying anything more than partial throttle, at 70mph highway, and it starts to drone. Not for me, changed it back, $250 gone. Oh well.
I am going to do that too sounds great man, I am putting a magnaflow x muffler where resonator is and taking 3rd cat out as well. I did BOV mod to it with livernois tunes plugs 160 thromstat and MAF sensor. Truck moves good now. 👍🏼 just to quiet stock.
@@LivinWith3M You bet! Just be patient with the back one because it can be a pain in the ass. I highly recommend one of those cable tools for removing the spring style hose clamps. Made the job much easier and I just reused the factory hose clamps on the chair bottoms and it looks good.

You can keep the stock pipes. They just removed my mufflers and placed pipe in place of them. I kept my factory mufflers in my shop building. So if I ever need to put them back on it’s an easy reversal. 👍🏻
Jeremiah, I would but my wife sold the explorer last week. She wanted a 4runner. I told her she wouldn’t be happy. I don’t have any pics handy to help. But the shop was $100 to remove them. They put two pieces of pipe where the mufflers were removed. It looked great. I’m sorry I can’t help on the pictures. I’m sure my wife will want another explorer in a few years. Thanks.

We have 2 kids (planning on a 3rd) and about to buy a 2018-19 explorer. Can't decide yet on ecoboost or bench/captains chairs. C.C. are better? I'm thinking at least 1 of the 2 3rd row seats would always have to be up, leaving less space for storage

I have seen a couple of videos with the resonator delete but keeping the mufflers on and that didn’t sound bad, gave it a bit more sound but not too loud.
What made you choose the delete. Vs. Getting rid of resonater and putting aftermarket mufflers? Just curious. Love the explorer mods... keep the upgrades coming

@@LivinWith3M absolutely, i appreciate it i have a 16 platinum (wifes) and i put the raptor style grill on and it looks great. Smoked out the taillights, keep the turn signal clear, got rid of the amber halogen and put a red led.. looks bad ass imo. What other ideas you got up your sleeve?
Man , yours sounds awesome. I may look into a set of the bbk lowering springs and tint the front windshield 35 percent all they down. Like my truck. The lowering springs only lower like 1.25”. So just enough to realize it’s not stock.
So... it sounds like this by removing the mufflers and just running the catalytic converter??? Any additional HP? This actually sounds awesome. Never thought it would sound so good. BTW I have the 2017 Interceptor. Also thinking of a decorative hood scoop to really make people think! I already have the word Interceptor on the back with a V8 emblem under it. People think I traded the engine out for a 305 V8 that we used to have in the muscle cars back in my days. LOL Awesome video.
Hey. I removed the mufflers at the rear but left the resonators which are after the catalytic converters. Don’t remove them. Just the mufflers. Thanks. I bet that interceptor is badass for sure!!! Love it!

Well it was fun and a chick magnet and I had all KINDS of fun with it! Sold it for exactly what I had paid for it!

Check your state laws please. I have heard in some states that it won’t pass the “visual” inspection. It does not throw any check engine lights and always passes diagnostics. In NC they never have a problem with mine being gone.

Do the BOV bypass and use the 1” chair bottoms to cap the opening on the tube! Looks good and you’ll love the sound!

I'm doing this to my 2018 Explorer Platinum. I hope i can keep the stock quad pipes that come on the Platinum. And also pass inspection with this mod.

Did u get a big increase in the turbo sound? Just bought a 2013 explorer sport and can’t hear the turbos spool at all
I’d have to say not much. Just the blow off valve but not actual turbo spool. Congrats on the 13. I was amazed at how fast they are. 👍🏻

Mine came factory with the rear captains chairs. Definitely comes in handy with the kids. 👍🏼

How's the drone like this? I did a muffler delete on my 2005 Acura TL and it has HORRIBLE drone at about 3k rpm.
No drone on mine bro. Some cars do, but these don’t.
I gotta wonder if I use electrical cutouts after the resonator and before the mufflers if I can get this sound with a quiet option
Not sure, but I do know cutouts are an awesome way for diversity. Want it loud one day and quiet the next. Perfect option in my opinion.

Nope not at all. It’s really quiet inside. I was very surprised.

I live massachusetts and wonder. Will this give me any issues with annual state inspections.
I really can’t speak for Massachusetts but in NC I never had an issue with inspections.
how did you do the muffler delete
I paid a local shop $100 to cut them off and replace them with straight pipe. So cutting and welding involved. Only took shop 30 minutes. 👍🏻
