*EDIT* I based that comment on comparing the remote in the video to the one I have which is different. I saw another video where he pushed a specific button his remote to start it. I have the same button so I went outside, locked the doors, pressed that button 2x and it started right up!
@@The570Experience You misread it. The 1st comment said it doesn’t have remote start. I added a 2nd comment stating that it does in fact start remotely so I’m stoked! Also you taught me about being able to change the ambient lighting which is cool too. Earlier today a friend of mine discovered there’s a 110v power outlet behind the center console which is awesome because I drive for Uber and that will come in handy for riders that need to work on their laptops during rides
@@Keegalz 2 years ago i had a 14 xlt ffv with a package tow from dealer. Was hidden in a black plastic cap in rear bumper. You just remove 2 clips and have acces to look it. Now, my 15 limited don't have package tow neither electric rear gate and my wife 2013 xlt it has. That's really disappointed me.
@franklesnickijr1541 I would say...look for a fuse that's blown...if you can't find it..ask a ford dealer...there's no switching them off so if it doesn't work..somethings wrong

I have a fully loaded 2019 sport and the kick plates that say explorer don’t illuminate like yours, can’t imagine being fully loaded it doesn’t have it but can find the option to turn on or off.
@@The570Experience yeah Honda crv and Toyota highlander take my vote. I have a 2016 explorer with $1600 repair on steering assist because it rained one day while I was driving. Sadly Ford's quality is going down the drain with the explorer. I also have a 2011f150 ecoboost with over 200,000 miles.
@@The570Experience Surprised you never ran into that situation. Most vehicles have a dome cut off button, but the Explorer doesn't. Really my only complaint right now on my 18' Platinum.
Can you answer a couple of quick questions for me? When I did the remote start, I got in my car and it was running but nothing worked. A light came on and said to put my foot on the break and start to start the car. Do I have to re start it again? It was already started. In addition, I noticed that my "miles left to empty numbers" were really dropping fast along with the gas gauge. They went from 186 to 176 miles left to empty in about 30 minutes after a trip to town and back. Could this be a sensor problem? Maybe gas could be leaking? what is going on? Im taking it back to CarMax tomorrow, but have to drive an hour and a half. Thanks
First of all...NEVER buy a car from carmax...I can tell you've never owned a car with automatic start before..because that's normal...every car you start with the remote...you have to " activate" when you get it...its to prevent theft..so nobody can drive away with your already started car...it verifies that you have the key..and it tells you to hold the brake down and push start...no it does not start the car again. It turns it on...the other problem you're having is why you should never buy a car from CARMAX
The miles to empty may be falling because you're turning the engine on. I dont know how long you let it run, but its just sitting there using up gas and the computer calculates that in the mpg which will affect the miles to empty.
Check your window sticker or online configuration. Saying these features don't exist doesn't make them not exist in the vehicle we just watched them exist on above.
Yeah...if you have it on let's say blue or green and your driving down the road at night...look in the door cupholder area....if it's red, it telling you the door isn't shut all the way
those features are only found on the Explorer Limited talking about ambient light interior and the tow hitch package.. not on entry model and XLT which i own.
I have XLT, you either have the package or you don't. i'ts an optipon ordered by you or the dealership depending on package. I have Desert Copper so it came with it.

I do not have the Explorer anymore I sold it I ended up buying a BMW X7 M50. I would say that it is a good buy. I loved my Explorer and I never thought I was going to get rid of it. my family was just growing and I needed something bigger so I so I upgraded to an X7

You missed the most important feature of all, and the sole reason to not own one of these. The internal water pump that will eventually fail, guaranteed. Ridiculous design. What's under the hood is more important than all the bells and whistles.
@@The570Experience I don't own an explorer. I was interested in one for sale locally and when I did my typical research I found lots of info on the internal water pump. This for me is too terrible of a design. I would not dare buy it. It's a ridiculous amount of labor for a simple water pump that could ruin the engine if neglected. It's a shame as this otherwise is an attractive vehicle. Nice job on this video. by the way.
lol any vehicle’s water pump can ruin the engine if it goes out & most of them are a pain in the ass to replace so if that’s your sole reason then you got your priorities screwed up! I got 200k on mine & never had an issue with anything besides cosmetic trim & touch screen went out!!!!

It has to be broken...I don't know a sport we're it doesn't light up
if you remote start the car and do the remote start sequence again while it is running it will double the time before it auto shuts off.

You missed the most important feature of all, and the sole reason to not own one of these. The internal water pump that will eventually fail, guaranteed. Ridiculous design. What's under the hood is more important than all the bells and whistles.

@@The570Experience I don't own an explorer. I was interested in one for sale locally and when I did my typical research I found lots of info on the internal water pump. This for me is too terrible of a design. I would not dare buy it. It's a ridiculous amount of labor for a simple water pump that could ruin the engine if neglected. It's a shame as this otherwise is an attractive vehicle. Nice job on this video. by the way.

lol any vehicle’s water pump can ruin the engine if it goes out & most of them are a pain in the ass to replace so if that’s your sole reason then you got your priorities screwed up! I got 200k on mine & never had an issue with anything besides cosmetic trim & touch screen went out!!!!

I guess my priorities are severely skewed as I decided on and bought a BMW X3 All wheel drive. Thing has an external electric water pump. Should be fun when it fails. 💪
