I still think TLT higher. I'm willing to be wrong (and I am sometimes) when the monthly chart low is taken out. There's a lot of volume down here...late into this down move. It doesn't look like continuation with so much volume. (This isn't a rates cut call... maybe they will maybe they wont)
Might be spx / ndx turning might bring bond buyers. It'd be different than the last downleg because hikes aren't happening in parallel with the move.. so the recent correlation between stocks and bonds could break.

The yen today represents what the dollar will do in the not so distant future. Huge amounts of debt piling up, staggering and persistent deficits across the board with no end in sight, rampant debt service costs and inflation way above the FED's target. If the dollar devalues against other currencies (say ~40% like it has done many times in the past), inflation will get even hotter, which will trigger even higher rates for even longer. Good luck to those buying garbage at 40x multiples.

Yikes you guys' understanding of net exports is completely wrong. Someone was not taught economics properly. Imports do not subtract from GDP. They are subtracted off GDP at the end to account for payouts to foreigners from the final consumption spending. Every dollar of imports generates much more than one dollar of final consumption. Many imports that come into the US are marked up by a fairly large amount before being distributed and consumed. A high imports number should be connected to a high GDP reading because it should be generating much more than itself in final consumption. The fact that the import number is so high while GDP is so low is a very bad sign. It means that the economy is undergoing a lot of substitution away from domestic production so that the even if spending is high, income is actually low because there are large rising payouts to foreigners. In other words the economy is spending itself into the toilet and the industrial base is being further hallowed out.
