For that last story, I would have said, totally deadpan, "It was so rare it wasn't even dead, just stunned. It tried to escape but the window stopped it." Stab it a few times and say "I think it's dead. Do you think you could put it back on the fire for a couple of minutes? That'll teach it!"

It is definitely personality dependent. I was in a similar situation. If I ever do eat steak I am more of a mid well person. Our super kind neighbor invited us over for dinner and served us maybe not completely rare but close. I tend to not ask for what I want so I just said thank you and ate as much as possible. I never want people to think I'm rude or ungrateful. I have also sipped on coffee (not a fan) and nibbled many other snacks and desserts that i wasn't too fond of. I just think it's so nice when people share I have a hard time expressing dislike. If asked though, I do better, and as I get older I am getting slightly less afraid of what people think of me. When I serve others I probably ask too many questions and apologize too much. Lol I am one of those people.

    1. Always call the police. Always press charges.
    2. Anyone touches you, especially if you have witnesses or cameras, teach them the error of their ways if possible by launching them 5 feet and then tap dancing on their skull. Then go back to step one and tell the cops that you were assaulted and feared for your life and had to make sure they could not pursue you when you tried to leave the scene.

That last story was hilarious ! It reminds me of a story a co-worker told me from my days working hospitality in a hotel. She had been doing Silver Service for about 2 months and was serving a large table at evening dinner. As she reached over to serve this gentleman, her platter tipped forward and peas land on the man’s lap ! Embarrassed, my friend apologised and disappeared back into the kitchen in shame; she didn’t want to serve but the bosses said she had to as there weren’t enough staff, so she goes out with the meat in gravy platter, and as she is reaching over to serve, again the platter tips forward and meat and gravy end up in a man’s lap ! Unfortunately, it was the same man ! She burst into tears at that point and ran into the kitchen thinking she was going to get fired (lose her job) but luckily the man realised why this had happened and it was because of the girl’s height - being small and sleight , she couldn’t hold the huge platters at a flat angle when she reached over to serve someone. This guy knew because he too had done Silver Service in his younger years and the same had happened to him ! The gentleman spoke to the manager and my colleague didn’t lose her job and even got a tip off the gentleman !

A few years ago I was walking down an aisle at the store everyone loves to hate. I am to my right and people coming toward me are to their right...as it should be in a country that drives on that side of the road. A Karen riding a mart-cart enters the end of the aisle ahead of me. She does not stay to her right, she comes straight at me. When she reaches me she gruffly says "MOVE". I stand there and give her stink eye until she backs up and goes around me. Several aisles over I run across her again while I am getting something off the top shelf. She rolls up and says "get one of those for me." I said "get off your fat ass and get it yourself." I am a 6'01" male with a bad case of RBF and a tendency toward confrontation. She looked at me like she wanted to comment but something in her pea brain apparently kicked in and she scootered right on by. I been lucky enough to never see her again so I guess I've been living right.

My late eldest sister actually did that in a restaurant because her steak was so tough that when she rolled up her sleeves and with one swift cut the steak few a few feet away. People eating in the restaurant just stared shocked but my sis bursts out laughing loudly. My Mom and Dad stared embarrassed. Not sure if she replaced that steak. The second time was me in the college cafeteria excited and surprised we were being served steaks. It was almost near closing. Finally figured out why they served it. It was very tough slab of steak. My roommate and I were sitting across from a few of the local basketball players. There I go trying desperately to cut it then with one swift cut there goes my steak laying near those BB players feet about four feet away from our table. My roommate was so embarrassed but like my sister I busted out laughing. One of the BB players says"food is just falling from the sky." With a sly smile.

Or make their last mistake messing with the wrong person and get themselves killed. They won't learn but other potential Karens might. Only one thing overrides their sense of entitlement: their sense of survival. Karens like all predators weigh risk vs reward. If they see something or someone who could potentially be or they know to be, hard, dangerous prey that potentially or actually can appreciably defend themselves they will move on to easier prey. Not worth getting hurt or even killed over. They avoid people who will press charges and/or retaliate in kind . They won't risk their freedom and/or their lives.

Why would they be kind to people beneath them? When a servant is bad at their job, you scold and berate them so they learn to do it right. They’ll be better to avoid punishment.
I believe this is the mindset and perspective of a Karen.

Karen's don't know how to be happy, because entitlement destroys your ability for appreciation. They do realize that their miserableness and dissatisfaction with their lives lessens for a brief moment by making someone else feel miserable. Its kind of like an alcoholic, drinking never gets rid of the pain, but it numbs and delays its reality for a bit.

I had an “I don’t work here” story the other day at Home Depot, but it was… Y’know… *normal.*
*Me:* “Excuse me, I’m so sorry to interrupt, but do you know where I can find corner protectors?”
*Him, glancing at the person he was chatting with in confusion:* “Sorry, we don’t work here.”
*Me, now embarrassed:* “Oh! I’m so sorry!”
    *Him:* “No trouble.”
*Me, feeling the need to explain:* “It’s just, you have a LOT of keys on your belt.”
I felt very silly, but in my defense, he *was* dressed in business casual clothes (black pressed shirt & beige slacks) and his belt *was* basically nothing but key rings. He must have some sort of security or custodial job, and came straight from work. You could see the moment the realization hit, and he was clearly working very hard not to laugh at the very flustered girl repeatedly apologizing for bothering him (his friend was not nearly as successful.)
Kinda embarrassing, sure, but like??? It’s really not a big deal??? Why do these people act like the world’s going to end if they ever admit even the slightest degree of fault or mistake?

I saw another comment talking about the wife's reply to that story. I went to Google found the story so I copied and pasted it here. I thought it was even funnier than the story on here.
TIFU by allowing my husband to come to dinner at my boss' house
This actually took place a couple of years ago.
I had just gotten a brand new job that I was really excited about. So I was delighted when my boss - who I had been trying to establish a rapport with - invited me and my husband over to her home for dinner.
Well, mostly delighted. My husband is..... well... he's the sweetest, but he has a history of doing really dumb shit. Because of this, I was worried about him coming along.
By the time the day of the dinner arrived, I had become so anxious about it that I actually floated the idea by my boss that I wasn't sure if he would be able to make it. She was clearly taken aback and responded "Oh no! I really hope he can, I have a dinner for 3 all ready to go." Upon seeing her dismay, I assured her that I was sure he would find a way to be there.
Well, we made it over to her apartment on time and things actually started out really, really well. It was actually just the 3 of us, which surprised me somewhat but made me a little less concerned about my husband - as crowds really tend to bring out his unpredictability.
I had just started to finally relax and was a couple bites into a deliciously cooked steak when things took a horrible... horrible turn.
My boss had just stepped into the kitchen to check on dessert when I noticed something odd out of the corner of my eye. It was one of those things where you know something strange his happening in your peripheral, but you're not sure what... you have to look over and focus your gaze to really comprehend it.
I look over at my husband and see him holding his steak in his hand, hovering it just an inch or two above his plate. Before I had a chance to fully comprehend what I was seeing and verbalize something that might have saved all of us from the coming horror.... he threw his steak - baseball style - across the room straight into the dining room window. It hit the window, making a loud noise, and slowly slid down.
Now my husband does dumb shit, I already told you that. But he's not a crazy person. Usually when he does dumb shit I at least understand what he's thinking. There' usually some semblance of rhyme or reason to the dumb shit.
In this case I was just dumbfounded. I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on. I stared at him with what must have been the most confused look, and watched as he stared back at me, an expression of utter horror painted across his face.
I couldn't make any sense of what was happening, but I also didn't have time to try. I heard the foot steps of my boss, coming to see what the sound was.
It suddenly sunk in that it didn't matter why he did what he did. He did it and we were all about to come face to face with a very awkward situation.
I could feel the anger flush through my face. For a brief moment I contemplated trying to help my husband get out of this. But No. This was his dumb-shit-bed and he could lie in it. Not like there was any possible recovery anyway.
My boss walks in and sees the steak lying on the window sill There's the fucking longest most awkward pause where we all just sit there frozen. My boss and I are staring at my husband, forcing the ball into his court, as the cringe just hangs in the air like an ocean fog.
He finally manages to mutter some incoherent garbage about being a clutz and even tries to get me to back him up. I leave his ass out to dry in the deafening silence.
He makes a poor attempt at cleaning the window and retrieves his steak. Mercifully, my boss asks me a question about work and we both dive eagerly into conversation.
We all resume the rest of the evening pretending that he isn't there, a sort of unspoken agreement by all that this is the only way to move forward.
As soon as we got to the car, my husband turned into a nervous chatterbox trying to explain himself.
Turns out the dumbass didn't like the way his steak was cooked (rare) and - get this - he thought the window was open. My husband, ladies and gentleman, tried to chuck his steak out a 3-story window. He thought that was a reasonable solution to being served an under-cooked steak.
A year or so later my boss hosted a Christmas party for the company at her newly-built home. My best friend, Jennie, was my +1.

Story 1: Yeah, BF goofed by not getting the police involved. Karen will only go on to assault another customer somewhere else and possibly even do a serious injury. I have no problems helping someone (as long as they're polite) and I'm able to. But put your hands on me and all bets are off!
Story 2: Happy that Karen got told off, but that was also a dangerous route to take. Karen could have gotten physical, called the police or just plain did something dangerous to everyone being that unhinged. Truthfully, the manager should have refused her service and required her to leave, but that could have been against Chipotle corporate policy.
    Story 3: Oops!
