    HDMI port broke on my Sony A7iii so have been using the Monitor Plus app on Google Pixel with a USB-C connection and tbh phones are the perfect sized monitors for run and gun filmmaking. I have shot a full documentary with that set up with no issues!

    I think this is a fantastic device, but at that price point I feel like you can get designated monitors that are larger in size and have a lot of the same features. It definitely has some unique ones like the live streaming and recording straight to your phone, but without any knowledge of how it changes someones workflow I don't know if it is entirely worth that price. The Sony A7iv already has a built in Bluetooth monitoring feature. It isn't the best but it gets the job done at no extra cost. If they could make it cheaper then it would definitely be a must have for beginners all the way up to professionals. Great video though!

    Looks interesting, but I'd like to see a version for Android as well. Primarily because you can put a microSD card into nearly every Android device. Then it makes the phone into a practical recorder. I like iPhones, I carry one every day, but for more technical uses, I think that Android phones have the edge.

    Let's say you have an older DSLR with a recording time limit and you don;t normally care but tonight you want to record your kids play wel ... 1080p at 20MBps (the max on my android wiith the app) is more than adequate and you don;t have the shell out 800$ (Canadian) plus for a Atomos Ninja V for this one off use (or occasional use).

    This would look so much better on larger phone screen with USB-C. iPhone is still limited by its Lightning port. The latency is very noticable. This is why I bought a Note 20 Ultra, with FilmicPro and KineMaster software. Together, I have all the functions I need to film, edit and post videos to TH-cam. No exporting video files to a computer needed. Plus, the S-Pen makes editing on the large screen a breeze. The less parts, the better.

      Android versions using USBC have existed for a few years now, multiple apps. Just one of the ways Android allows for more unique software for specific things like this over Apple, but glad to see they are allowing things like this. I can connect right to the USBC on my phone to the camera, don't need another device inbetween so I can just set the phone on a phone mount and I'm good to go! Can also use an old tablet as the monitor and then view remotely from my phone, hit record and handle other controls remotely as well

    Hey Caleb, Jordon Drake said you can’t charge the phone and get the video feed at once. You implied you can get the video while charging your phone using the 5V output at the start of this video. Can you confirm if this works or not?

    • @nkisystems
      @nkisystems 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A wireless charger is the only way to charge your phone while using SeeMo at the moment. You can connect a 5V Qi charger to the 5V output port of SeeMo. You can also use the Apple MagSafe charger for fast charging. However, SeeMo can charge your iPad at 5V. The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is necessary if you want to charge your iPad faster.

    • @TheTechnoPilot
      @TheTechnoPilot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nkisystems I’m sorry but this extremely convoluted description is not a viable option for professional work. If we are using the Lightning port for data transmission is needs to also power the phone. Set life is usually 6hrs between breaks minimum and you aren’t going to reliably get 6hrs of screen on time plus recharge fully in a 30-45min lunch period to go the next +6hrs.

    • @nkisystems
      @nkisystems 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheTechnoPilot You can use the MagSafe charger to provide power while you phone is connected to SeeMo. We love to charge iPhone through the lightning connection, but it’s not possible at this moment due to Apple imposed restrictions.

    • @cheerlin
      @cheerlin ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nkisystems thanks, your suggested workaround i have thought so too. one issue is the clamp that came along does not work (not tight enough) with the Magsafe charger nor apple battery pack.

  • @BrandonThompsonBT

    Heck yes!! I've been wanting this exact device for YEARS and there's no reason it should have taken this long for a professional company to make it. There's one company who has made a similar product. And they seem quite sketchy, and their app is an absurdly expensive monthly subscription model. So I'm excited!
    Will the Android app be out soon? Does the hardware make the video feed usable in other applications (TH-cam, Instagram, Filmic), or only theirs?

    Does the SeeMo work with F-log/4k? I don't wish to record to my iphone. All I want is to use my iphone as a monitor that works with
    F-log/4k I am currently using my iphone as monitor(+transmitter).. but it only works with 1080...so I must first set my camera to 1080 to see an image (set focus & composition)... then I re-set my camera to record F-log/4k ..after which the image does not show up on the monitor/iphone.
