Did you know you could do this with an iPhone 15 Pro? For a full list of camera compatibility check here: monitorplus.cc/docs/general/camera-compatibility-and-capability/ Now that you do, any plans to try it out?

I love and use this function a lot. I have an A7C II and an iPhone 15. But the iPhone Reverse charges the A7C and therefore drains very fast. There’s no way to switch off reverse charging on iPhone 15.
There is not, I’ve tried doing wireless charging during filming but doesn’t seem to work. I keep a battery pack fast charger in my camera bag to juice up and always start my shoot with a full phone battery.

I can’t say I have any experience on that, I only have USB-C to USB-C cables and most likely only the newer cameras that have USB-C would have this capability. Hey Philip. I'm also a Pro subscriber of this app. I actually bought it because of EL Zone support (you have to tap and hold on the false color icon). Anyway, I digress. I was just wondering if the EL Zone colors are showing up correctly on iPhone? I noticed that on my Android, the EL Zone colors are a bit off by 1/2 stop or 1 stop.
Hey Jonatan! i do have a question, i have a a7III, wich is 8bit, and the iphone is 10bit, i wich format it will record? coud be as a monitor and recoerder? as a external 10bit recorder?
Great question, but I don’t believe the app was primarily intended as a recording device, mainly a monitor. It can record up to 1080p and save to your phone but it doesn’t say the bit depth. That’s a technical question beyond me so I don’t have a good answer sadly!
Sorry to hear you’re having issues! I don’t have that camera to validate, but from what I imagine it seems it’s a setting in the FX30 menu if it’s not a non-capable USB-C Cable. Go to the Yellow Toolbox Menu, scroll down to USB, enter that and go to the USB connection mode. Here check that the settings are correct and play around. Also maybe check if there is anything about remote settings and phone access. I’ll dig in my camera tomorrow to see if I can spot a specific option.
Could this work on a 7iii with an older iphone like an iphone X? I was thinking of getting a cold shoe mount for phone and just plug a usb c with lighting cable
Some people are reporting it is possible with the iPhone 13 so I would imagine so! You just have to find the right adapter and cables, some people have left comments with the ones they bought but I personally do not have experience with this.
Didn’t work with my Sony A7C (not A7C2) and my ipad M1 through usb-c. I can have file transfer in lightroom for usb-c but there’s no remote shoot option through usb-c
Thanks for letting us know! I just looked up a video on how to tether a PC to the A7C, looks like he said shutting off “ctrl /smartphone” is critical then going down the menu to PC Remote Function and turn on PC Remote. Go down to PC Remote Cnct Method and select USB. Maybe this would help but otherwise it may just not work on the A7C. Good luck! Here is the video I am referencing. th-cam.com/video/Ak6ohkpkp8E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VWOGUwRSE6fsc8n_
Yes! Works the exact same in photo mode, just toggle switch on the camera but the function is the same. It unlocks drive modes such as continuous shot, single shot, pressing the “shoot” button in the middle of the screen releases the shutter.
It’s just the standard DJI cable that came with the gimbal, but I also use a Kondor Blue cable like this for the right angle when on a tripod: amzn.to/3zLbNgF
I’m using a iPhone 15 and am trying to connect it to a A6400. I used the micro usb to usb an and a usb a to usb c adapter. But my camera won’t connect it all. I even turned off the usb as peer setting and usb to pc remote . Anybody have any advice ?
Hey! Don’t have any personal experience but I highly doubt that the adapters would work like that, you really loose a lot of data connections when jumping cables. Typically power is prioritized so you can charger through adapters, but data transfer is unlikely. I would trial a USB-C cable to Micro-USB cable like this, amzn.to/4ggsBMK but data transfer from the Micro-USB port may just not work. If you buy it on Amazon you can return it if it doesn’t work, and maybe trial a USB-C to Mini HDMI like this: amzn.to/3MCPmwN If it doesn’t work you sadly may be out of luck on that camera until you get one with USB-C built in.
Im having a similar problem with an iphone 15, Monitor+ and an A7sii. I’ve tried using a usb-c to micro usb, and also tried a usb-c hdmi adapter to micro hdmi (which works with my android but not iphone 15) Hopefully it gets updated soon

Sorry for the delay! Testing it out myself, when you go down to the Media Tab in the preferences page there is a toggle button to “Copy to Camera Roll.” Looks like this will create a duplicate, but it seems all footage I take or record goes straight to the camera SD card, not the device.
What version of firmware??? Still going thru the NIGHTMARE of trying to update my A1 (last attempt was to reset to Factory Settings to make sure the installation doesn’t crash on some user options that Sony never tested for… that can disable your Wi-Fi connection or simply BRICK the Camera 🤬 Sure you don’t have to reset back to Factory settings to ensure a clean upgrade??? 🧐
@@TheGeoDaddy version of the A7C ii or Monitor Plus? App is at the most up-to-date version of 1.4.2 The Sony’s at 1.02. I don’t think it applies the same as the A1 firmware so I probably won’t be able to help much.
It does but people say you either need a OTG Lightning to USB-C cable, or the Apple Lighting to USB 3 Camera Adapter. I have not done it but read some of the other comments to find out the exact details!
I do not believe it can go higher, I think it is limited by the output of your camera but I’ve not found a setting on this. I think the capability is more focused on the monitoring and not recorder like an Atomos Ninja.
Monitor’s website says it works only in wired mode between the Sony a6100-a6700 but you can’t access the camera’s storage, just see a live view. The Sony a6000 may be too old for this as that came out 10 years ago.
I've been doing this for years on my pixel phones. I'm happy to hear that apple is finally abandoning their antiquated 1990s era cables and texting on their higher end phones.
That’s the best point, I don’t think you do need the Accsoon! If you have a Sony compatible camera and USB-C iPhone 15 Pro this should work, though I don’t know which cameras this would work with. I was about to buy an Accsoon so I could do this exact thing but didn’t want an extra device to deal with and just plugged it in and it worked. I’ve used this for several hours of filming so far. I charge the phone up before use as it does drain battery rather quickly with the iPhone screen on full brightness, but it keeps the camera mostly charged up. I carry a Anker Battery Pack in my camera bag to quick charge my phone if it get’s lower.
I have multiple items strewn together on this, most from Amazon. It’s a Small Rig Magic Arm, PGYTech phone holder. Now I have additional MagSafe mounts I use for the iPhone and also F22 quick release mounts. I plan to put a video out on Falcam F22 items soon!
@@leslieblak4496 personally I’ve not experienced any! In all honestly this is far smoother than I had expected and usually adjust via the phone screen instead of on the camera when I am wired up. I’m sure someone out there can get the latency numbers, but for me it’s a non-noticeable issue.
@@leslieblak4496 Someone commented you might be able to use Apple’s Lightning-Camera Adapter, but I have never used this personally so I don't have any experience to verify! I've only used the USB-C on the 15 Pro.
The footage when I film is super laggy, idle its 25fps but when filming its like 10-15fps, which is so laggy that its useless in scenes with a lot of movement. Is it the same for you guys or does anyone have a solution? Makes me not wanna pay for the full version :/
Oh man! What camera you running? I’ve never seen this happen but I am on a new phone and camera with a higher data rate cord. You could be throttled by the cable or an older camera? Not seen any comment this issue before either but that’s not fun. If you have lag issues in the lite version, the full version won’t change anything.
Looks like it would work but with very limited capability. It will not have the auto-focus even with the Pro version, and only limited camera controls. Also no ability to look at camera footage.
The only data in the app is live FPS floating at 30FPS. I’ve never seen any stats on the latency but for my work it’s pretty much live and Image quality is 1080p. I’m not a pixel peeper or stats guru so for the quality and ease of just plugging my phone on it’s perfect! Used it to record just today!
It works flawlessly for my Sony, it’s been amazing actually! Hopefully they expand to other brands. What camera are you using with the Accsoon converter?
i am running black magic gear pocket 4 or 6k. can use camx for ipad but no other solution that i can find except accsoon. for iphones, hopefull that some other s app will come possibly from black magic themselves or monitor + expand to work with other cameras
It does! 4 EL Zone modes, a Rec.709 800%, a rec.2020 HLG or something I think and two S-Logs. I typically only toggle the 709, but you get there by holding down the false color button and the settings for that specific mode pop up.
From their website it looks like the ZV-E10 is mostly compatible, but the iPhone 12 not sure. You could try getting a nicer Lighting to USB-C cable and trial that, or some people are commenting you need Apple’s Lighting to USB Camera adapter, but not sure as I’ve only tried the 15 Pro with USB-C to USB-C. You could always try a cable on Amazon and if it doesn’t work send it back.

Great question, but I don’t believe the app was primarily intended as a recording device, mainly a monitor. It can record up to 1080p and save to your phone but it doesn’t say the bit depth. That’s a technical question beyond me so I don’t have a good answer sadly!
Any other setting tips? I can not get it to connect via USBc
Correction, it’s connect but says “no signal” it’s reading my FX30 but not displaying the image. Any tips would be awesome!
If someone had a USB-C to lighting cord, could they use this setup with an older iPhone?
I’m not sure but I don’t think so, I’ve never found a video of someone trying it but would be very surprised.
@@PhilipBlankI will try and I will let you know
@@mahdiaghahosseinithat would be excellent! Let us know and thank you!
I think you have to use Apple’s Lightning-Camera Adapter according to the info in Monitor+. Haven’t verified it yet, though.
@@mahdiaghahosseinibro its works?
Could this work on a 7iii with an older iphone like an iphone X? I was thinking of getting a cold shoe mount for phone and just plug a usb c with lighting cable
Some people are reporting it is possible with the iPhone 13 so I would imagine so! You just have to find the right adapter and cables, some people have left comments with the ones they bought but I personally do not have experience with this.
Does the monitor control sony app work with usbc cable?
Sony’s Creators’ app does work in this way as well, I’ve tried it and found Monitor + to be much smoother overall but I keep it installed.
Cheers Philip - very helpful video thanks for sharing.
Happy to help! I was looking for the video myself but never found it so had to make one to share!
Great video, thank you so much for this!
Appreciate the comment! You’re welcome.
Thanks for sharing this.
Happy to help and thanks for the comment! Feel free to share it with any others who it might help!
Can this be used for stills/photography or Video ONLY?
Yes! Works the exact same in photo mode, just toggle switch on the camera but the function is the same. It unlocks drive modes such as continuous shot, single shot, pressing the “shoot” button in the middle of the screen releases the shutter.
@@PhilipBlank Cool...Thanks
What cable is that?
I’ve tried using a usb-c to micro usb,
and also tried a usb-c hdmi adapter to micro hdmi
(which works with my android but not iphone 15)
Hopefully it gets updated soon
@@rj4y12 what I found out that worked for me was that, buying the native apple (usb a to usb c) cord works
@@kevalshah654 OMG IT WORKS!! Thank you!!
@@kevalshah654 what do you connect the USB-A into? A micro usb or micro hdmi?
hi , i used on ipad pro and sony a7iii in wired mode , it worked but when i take photo on camera it only saves photos on my ipad's storage , it not save any photos on my sony a 7iii sd card. do u have any idea about where is the videos and photos are going to save at ?
Sorry for the delay! Testing it out myself, when you go down to the Media Tab in the preferences page there is a toggle button to “Copy to Camera Roll.” Looks like this will create a duplicate, but it seems all footage I take or record goes straight to the camera SD card, not the device.
@@PhilipBlank thank you for your help. appriciate it ! 🔥
What version of firmware???
Still going thru the NIGHTMARE of trying to update my A1 (last attempt was to reset to Factory Settings to make sure the installation doesn’t crash on some user options that Sony never tested for… that can disable your Wi-Fi connection or simply BRICK the Camera 🤬
Sure you don’t have to reset back to Factory settings to ensure a clean upgrade??? 🧐
@@TheGeoDaddy version of the A7C ii or Monitor Plus? App is at the most up-to-date version of 1.4.2 The Sony’s at 1.02. I don’t think it applies the same as the A1 firmware so I probably won’t be able to help much.
Does it work with i phone 14 pro max
It does but people say you either need a OTG Lightning to USB-C cable, or the Apple Lighting to USB 3 Camera Adapter. I have not done it but read some of the other comments to find out the exact details!
Works for my iPad with cable but with my iPhone 15 it won’t find it with cable
Dang! iPhone 15 or 15 Pro? Curious if it’s differentiated between those two models. Video was done with the Pro.
I have sony a7c2 but my iPhone not showing in moniter+ app
Which iPhone is it? You can see the exact steps I did on an iPhone 15 pro.
Can we set the liveview image quality higher than 1024x680 with the paid version?
I do not believe it can go higher, I think it is limited by the output of your camera but I’ve not found a setting on this. I think the capability is more focused on the monitoring and not recorder like an Atomos Ninja.
this doesnt work with sony a6000?? or does it
Monitor’s website says it works only in wired mode between the Sony a6100-a6700 but you can’t access the camera’s storage, just see a live view. The Sony a6000 may be too old for this as that came out 10 years ago.
It works with all phones with modern USB. All android phones and 15 and up pro iPhones.
I've been doing this for years on my pixel phones. I'm happy to hear that apple is finally abandoning their antiquated 1990s era cables and texting on their higher end phones.
I love the tech converging to work so seamlessly!
It actually works on an iPhone 13 as well, as long as you use an adapter
Looks like an OTG cable with the lightning adapter seems to work for some!
So why would I need a accsoon ? I’m confused the only reason I’m seeing is to charge the phone at the same time
That’s the best point, I don’t think you do need the Accsoon!
Okok, definitely the answer I needed to hear! Appreciate that bro!
where i buy this phone holder for gimbel
I have multiple items strewn together on this, most from Amazon. It’s a Small Rig Magic Arm, PGYTech phone holder. Now I have additional MagSafe mounts I use for the iPhone and also F22 quick release mounts. I plan to put a video out on Falcam F22 items soon!
How about the lagging?
@@leslieblak4496 personally I’ve not experienced any! In all honestly this is far smoother than I had expected and usually adjust via the phone screen instead of on the camera when I am wired up. I’m sure someone out there can get the latency numbers, but for me it’s a non-noticeable issue.
@@PhilipBlank do you know how I can do the same set up wired with my iPhone 12 or 13?
@@leslieblak4496 Someone commented you might be able to use Apple’s Lightning-Camera Adapter, but I have never used this personally so I don't have any experience to verify! I've only used the USB-C on the 15 Pro.

@@leslieblak4496if you have Amazon Prime purchase it there then you can do free easy returns if it doesn’t work!
@ I got a 15pro as well but my caméra is an a7c mark 1, I guess it’s just a lil too old.
Can i do on sony 6500?
You should try it on film camera lol
Looks like it would work but with very limited capability. It will not have the auto-focus even with the Pro version, and only limited camera controls. Also no ability to look at camera footage.
lol not sure that’s how this works.
ITS not working with A7II?
I would be surprised if it did! The A7II was released in 2014 so at 10 years old I highly doubt they had the functionality let alone the USB-C out.

IQ and latency is a lot worse than HDMI, right?
The only data in the app is live FPS floating at 30FPS. I’ve never seen any stats on the latency but for my work it’s pretty much live and Image quality is 1080p. I’m not a pixel peeper or stats guru so for the quality and ease of just plugging my phone on it’s perfect! Used it to record just today!

Does the monitor plus pro version have El Zone?
