    Den Phal hybrids can be fragrant, but these usually have shorter lived blooms and don't "look" like Den Phals. My absolute favorite is Jaquelyn Thomas (gouldii x biggibum). It is a beast of a plant but the blooms are lovely, last a decent amount of time (about 3 weeks) and have a lovely fragrance. I love it enough to have two of the 'Unawai Supreme' (blue and white) clone and one of the 'Unawai Mist' (white).

      I need to look that one up. I'm very happy with the pink sparkle you gave me. Look at her increasing bloom count over two years later since you gave her to me, and as you said, she remained small.
      I still have the gatton Sunray which is a beast for me, but no blooms yet! We'll see how it goes, it outgrew my shelves 😂

    Thanks for the tips. I purchased my den from a grower on Etsy. It was a freebee. No id, so i have no idea the color of the blooms or how big it may grow. Im just finding out what it likes and its happy place. Warmth and plenty of light. Got it!

    I recently picked out a dendrobium from a local store, passing over the oncidium sharry baby there that I had thought I wanted. It was labeled dendrobium assorted 😐, but looks like Aridang Blue. Very tall lol!

    hi! very useful short video! is it possible to you make something similar about Coelogynes? Do you have any positive experience with them? (I constantly struggle to make them grow adequately).

    Thank you so much for this info. I am very new to Dendrobium's (I'm a beginner with Orchids), I have 2 which are: Dendrobium Areedung Blue Unique Yellow and Dendrobium Blackberry x Aredung Light Blue. How would I know if these two are Phal Dendrobium or the others types you mentioned?

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could look up the parents to see, usually it's on a site like orchid roots. Many even if they have a little bit of the biggibum family will usually thrive with the same care.

    I have a dendrobium nobile with a little new growth on the bottom. I spritz no big drink or fertilizer. I just brought a dendrobium Phalaenopsis. It has a little spike, I think . But it is slow because I am assuming because of the season.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They do grow faster in the summer when the doctors are hot. Nobiles are different though and tend to bloom after a period with no fertilizer and cooler periods.

      It will stay pretty small since Dendrobium kingianum is one of the parents

    I know nothing about den phals, except that now I know the name. Lol. I'm nurturing a bunch of cattleya and dendrobium anosmum babies right now. I need to see how they go before I add another kind of orchid. Currently, are chugging along while I spend too much time propagating houseplants just because I can. Stop me before I prop again!

    I love these and have a few but for about a year some of them have a horrible leaf spotty disease. I tried spraying them with fungicide and, as nothing worked, i tried submerging whole plants in bleach solution but they still have the same disease which destroys the leaves. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? In the UK by the way. I really enjoy your videos Nicole. 😊

      I'm glad you enjoy the videos ❤️ I appreciate you watching!
      The leaf spotting has happened to me as well and I actually lost my Dendrobium Buttercup because of it. Some one told me they think it happened because they believe it was a very hot grower and the spots would happen because of cooler temps before the growth hardened off, I've never been able to figure it out, but have witnessed it too!
