    Amboinensis is my favorite. I love the way it smells. Amazing how subjective scent is.

      I agree :) I've had that one for a few years and I actually started liking it at one point, then I disliked it again. Thank you for watching :))

    I just got a P. Bellina, P. Sweet Memory, P. Lyndon Mix Zebra 819, and another one with a very long name. My grow space/bedroom is around 80° during the day and 69° at night for most of the year. In the winter, the daytime temp is usually in the mid-70s and nights are in the mid-60s

      Those are good ones!! Very fragrant, at least the first two. You'll love them, and your temps will work out :))

    Hi Nicole, You’ve made me very happy putting this video up just now. I’ve very recently bought 3 summer blooming phals and as we are in winter right now I’m going very gently on the watering. My guess is that when spring comes I can start with feeding lightly and watch them grow. Your video pretty well gives me more confidence and if there’s anything else I should know about these beautiful orchids I would be happy to receive your advice. Thanks for sharing this valuable information.

      I'm so glad this video came in right on time 🌺 When they start actively growing leaves, you can fertilize and give more water. They are happy staying slightly moist and warm. Happy growing 💗

    What I don't like about many of the summer bloomers is the growth habit, bellina in particular won't grow upright and it always ends up heavy on one side and falls over at the drop of a hat. The blooms are lovely and have that citrus fragrance, but that growth habit doesn't lend itself to pot culture well unless you can hang the pot.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see them headed that way. I'm going to hang them or put them in heavy clay pots. The fragrance really does it for me! I wish they did grow upright though!!

    I absolutely love summer blooming phals, however do struggle with them in the UK winters. I have them in a cupboard under LEDs but I think it's still getting too cold, will try placing them on a heat mat as you suggested this autumn-winter and see how we go! So bful ❤

    Great video, thank you! I have a few summer blooming seedlings, as I just got into them last year.
    You’re right the violacea bloom as a seedling was SO cute and amazing. It wasn’t fragrant but I’m not surprised given it was so little. I’m sure I’ll get fragrance as I see future blooms. It’s winter down here in Australia so mine are focussed on growing roots. Very happy with that!

      I'm so glad you like it! When it gets better I'm sure you're going to get that lovely cinnamon floral fragrance it has. It's summer here and mine are pushing out massive leaves right now. I've had many for three years and I didn't expect theyd' all get so big, I need to do an update video Lol!

    Hello Nicole, thanks for this video! I love the summer bloomers and currently have about 8. They are beautiful and some of the ones that are fragrant smell amazing. I just purchased a heat mat for a few of mine to see if they would grow ant faster and YES, the mat has made a huge impact!!

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so glad they growing well for you! I know you grow in semi hydro, and I'm glad the heat mat is making a difference! When they are slightly cool they definitely stall! Happy growing 💗

    Enjoyed this video..of course! My favorites!! I have 26 now, blooming and if not blooming they're in spike. Fragrance is wafting my way. 🥰 I just love them. You have beautiful ones! I love seeing them, I've watched twice. Good info, too, and tips. One more little detail about the full sphagnum: if I feed in summer in sphagnum about 300ppm, do I need to follow right then with plain rinse? Or, bc it's sphagnum, is 300ppm too high? I'm afraid to burn anything 🤔! So far so good with this media, but I want to take best care of these beauties, and am excited about all sphagnum. I will flush once month. I like asking you since yours seem so very happy & vibrant.😊💗👍💚

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so glad you liked this video 💗
      I think it's fine to feed the orchids with Spagnum at 300 ppm! You don't need to rinse after you feed, you can just flush once a month and it should be fine. I'd only look to flush sooner if you see salt buildup on the top of the pot. Thank you for watching 🤗
