    I would advise a ceiling system for a pcvr link cable and maybe play mat to help center while playing.

      Good call on both of those.

      Nothing like a video with a monotone voice to break the ice after not talking for a long time.

      Noice. I wish the Q2 came in black too, it'd look way cooler. And you won't regret the Bowk, it's a great stock.

    Spread the word and share this with anyone in your life who enjoys first-person shooters but isn't into VR yet.
    Quick addendum: I misspelled GameCubit's channel as GambeCubits in one part of the video. Since I can't change the video once it's uploaded (aside from removing portions of it), here's a link to his video: th-cam.com/video/VGvmE1o6_4U/w-d-xo.html

    Agreed...Onward by a mile, despite the down grade and bugs, I still have way more fun playing that then the others.....

    I saw this stock called 3Daptive Modus v2, looks pretty solid to me.

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has an aluminum rail, which means it's bound to be heavier than a Bowk made out of carbon fiber. Light weight is critical for swinging the stock as fast as possible onto target, and Bowk is by far the lightest. Their cheek weld also looks pretty janky compared to the Bowk Marksman.

    Very interesting, different kind of video but same style.

      Yep, trying out this style in a variety of video types.

    Virtual Rifle Systems mark III has a fantastic solution for stocks. They are expensive but the have adapters for every controller including the Index controllers. They look cool and have a very sturdy design.

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm really not a fan of stocks that are bulky and designed to look "realistic" rather than function well as stocks. Bowk stocks might not be as tacticool looking but they perform way better because they're designed by a top-tier competitor.

    • @JackTheMimic
      @JackTheMimic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThetaVR I guess i should have emphasized that it is firstly very functional and feels natural with the controllers attaching underneath rather than on top. The extra cool factor was a bonus.

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jack The Mimic I still think you're emphasizing a sort of 1:1 relationship between real guns and stocks when you use terms like "natural."
      Manipulating controllers in VR is not the same as using a real gun, and either ProTube or Bowk will give you what actually works best for VR. They're also lighter, mostly because they don't waste space or weight on anything that won't help you perform better. This is why you never see top tier competitors using anything else - they might work, but these are the two options which are designed specifically around performance.

    • @JackTheMimic
      @JackTheMimic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThetaVR looking through your comments I can see that you are all in on the tube type stocks, that's fine. The point of natural feel in VR is if you have gun training (like myself) emulating that experience with weight, natural hand position, and stucture makes the game emersive. Weight believe it or not actually helps steady aim because small movements don't affect a weighted object as much as a light one. Once again, I get your affinity for the tube versions, that's fine. Some people want immersive experiences others want to be MLG Pro.

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason I'm "all in" is pretty simple: I compete in Onward and I've seen what works and what doesn't. My recommendations come from experience playing against and with the best players in the world - many of whom have extensive training with real weapons. For example, one of the guys on my team is a former drill sergeant, and another has been competing in shooting competitions his whole life. Neither would be caught dead with one of stocks you mentioned. I've known many others who have tried those and then immediately switched to either ProTube or Bowk. The idea that extra weight, which makes you slower to hit targets, would somehow add to immersion is kind of ridiculous IMO. It isn't that immersive getting shot and having to sit in the tent. But if that's your jam, then I guess that's what you should roll with.

    Looking into getting a Bowk stock, I had a sling somewhere I got from Airsoft GI awhile back that would work, but I have no idea where it is, any suggestions on slings that would work well with this product?

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to hear it, Bowks are fantastic. Pretty much any rifle sling will work. James has a Discord you should join for more info: BowkVR.com (click the Discord button)
