- AMD starts 2023 with a bang and delivers high-end gaming and workstation performance with their new RDNA 3 GPUs.
While they are not perfect, they might offer a great alternative to NVIDIA's insanely priced RTX 4000 offerings.
#FractalDesign also sent over their new #North, so we used that opportunity to transfer our video editing workstation into the compact enclosure with the latest AMD Cards.

Hello, great review. Which 360 AIO did you use in this built? I have seen some reviews complaining about the mounting holes for the fans of the 360 AIO on the outside, apparently they do not line up properly with the case. Thus forcing them to install the fans on the inside of the case. Did you experience any problems with the 360 AIO?
Hi there, i used Fractal's own Lumen S36. I had absolutely not problems mounting it to the front, with the fans on the "outside"
notebookcheck wouldn't find anyone else than you to present product review to us! not only you are good at what you do but also your energy, voice tone are good! i thought that you were good reviewing notebooks but you are proving yourself everytime more!
Thanks a ton for the kind words! We appreciate it!
What are you after? 😂
What is that light stick ? @@NotebookcheckReviews
Hey, nice built! According to Fractals own website, if you have a watercooler in the front (like you), maximum gpu length is 300mm. But none of the 7900xt's i can find are 300mm or less. So how did you make that work? Or are their website Dimensions not entirely correct? Thanks!
The AMD “Founders Edition” I have used it below 300mm. All the third-party models are unfortunately a lot bigger!
@@NotebookcheckReviews thanks! I indeed just found out that the founders edition is quite a lot shorter. Bummer, because I have an AIO as well and want it front mounted...
Could you fit a 280 mm aio in the front?
You most definitely can
Ahhh...can I post a picture with my personal PPC? (portable personal computer). Based on chassis of fractal node 202, with covers replaced by net of audioboxes, gtx 1080ti rog strix with 2x 12x2.5 cm Corsair fans instead of original fanshroud, i5 9600k, 7 liters , 5,2 kg, fits into Everki Titan...I am sailor, I carry this rig with me on every contract, gave up on gaming laptops, still...never forget my first love..that is why I watch your channel. Great job !
That does sound like a very interesting build. I still have the Node 202 laying around here somewhere. It was my first case for my first DIY build a few years back .... lovely enclosure!
wht motherboard are you using in the fractal design north?
An MSI Tomahawk Wifi!
@@NotebookcheckReviews which one? b550, x570?
Are you able to fit a 4090 into this fractal north case?
Depends on the individual model, but it’s going to be tight no matter what! You can find detailed measurements on fractals homepage
In fairyland, I would buy 4070TI GX3 for €700. The current price €969 is totally unacceptable. --robert jasiek
Yeah nearly 1000 Bucks for a XX70 SKU is crazy.
Ive been looking into the North case I was worried that the 7900xt wouldn't fit as PC part picker was throwing compatibility errors for sizing
Fits perfectly, even with a radiator in the front!
@@NotebookcheckReviews would you say that the 7900xt is worth it in a new build over the 6900xt
Not all 7900xtx fit if you use aio in the front.
Which 7900xtx did you use. Im in the same position. Im using deepcool lt720 in front and i am thinking which 7900xtx to get.
@@MaDeXism Hey im looking at the same cooler, gpu and case, which gpu did you go with?
Which 7900 xtx model is this??
The AMD reference design.
neat we both have the same headphones, Beyerdynamic
Love them!
What is that light stick ?
It is a yongnuo RGB light from amazon.
Thank you :) @@NotebookcheckReviews
I would buy a RX 7600 XT at 200€, since you mentioned fairyland :D
How is this pc case looks amazing
I like it a lot. It is very easy to build in, since you can take it apart very easily. And it just looks super clean.
@@NotebookcheckReviews nice im using a corsair 4000d airflow case right now
@@NotebookcheckReviews what is gpu clearance
355mm, but that is with only fans in the front.
Nice case!
Very!
Wrong aio installation. Otherwise clean build
Thanks, but what is wrong about the AIO installation!

Ah right, this thing. Good point, but honestly, I don't know if the tubes are long enough to turn the radiator around.
And with the pump being in the radiator, shouldn't it help with the problem?
I was barely following along with this discussion.
Thanks for sharing the video!
@@NotebookcheckReviews yes! Pump in the Radiator solves the problem! But either all front mounted radiators have the pump in them or are installed the wrong way when you think that 99% of them are installed this way
Fair enough. Well seems I was lucky then ;)
I wondery why you would want to install the radiator upside down, that seems like a really bad idea
Well, the tubes wouldnt have been long enough to do it the other way around ... and why would it be bad?
The system is running without a problem until now.
@@NotebookcheckReviews when the liquid runs low, you will end up with air on your pump
@@B00h44thats not what happens. You get air at the top of the soft tubes (since it’s the highest point) and it might raise the noise floor. No danger.
Disappointed Alex Disappointed - Still donning those hats , I am gonna buy you a cowboy gear full stop
Do I have to do a southern accent with it? I’m not sure if I can pull it of, tbh 😅
@@NotebookcheckReviews Haha that would be icing on the cake
The case has 3 sticks of wood in the front and suddenly it's a "wife approved" PC XD
Take the caption of the article with a bit of humour. Even tho it was actually "inspired" by my girlfriend when I put up the PC in our shared office, and she said: "that looks nice!" :)
So it is based on actual events. She is not my wife yet, tho ...
@@NotebookcheckReviews oh bro, I was just joking with you. It will obviously blend well in a living room. Nice build
Absolutely, a bit of IKEA glued to the front 😂
