I bought the Sapphire Nitro+ and can honestly say that I am very happy with it. I did a mild under volt and pushed the memeory speed to get about a 10 to 12% boost out of the card and run AI overclock on my motherboard and I am able to clock an average of 20 to 30 FPS higher across most games on average at 2560x1440 with setting on Ultra..

I got the Sapphire Pulse because other than reference I think it's the smallest one. It will actually fit in many ITX cases. Most of the others are that little bit too long and wide to fit in cases that weren't optimized for triple-slot.

@@AvroBellow I'm planning to buy the same RX 7900 XTX graphics card. Currently I have an old 6-7 years old Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Extreme Edition that I've been using for about a year now. I bought it used for 220 eur. Before it I had another old "used" GTX 970 (Zotac Extreme AMP! Core edition). Before the GTX 970 I had been using a new R7 360 for about 3 years. I didn't like its performance that's why I decided to buy a used GTX 970. The only graphics card that failed on me in the last 20 years was a new Gigabyte GTX 260 SO 212 that I was using for 6 years for continuous intensive gaming. It stopped recognizing the Nvidia driver and I couldn't reinstall any version of Nvidia driver so it basically worked as a basic display adapter before I replaced it with a new AMD R7 360.

Update, My Repaste has eventually led to the same hotspot temps I was getting before repaste. The card wad cool for a few months, but progressively got hotter. I smelled a burning smell for 5 seconds while gaming the other day, and my tuning profile reset to default. Since then temps have been high again. I was playing plague tale innocence, maxed out at 4k.
I originally had a reference from launch then bought a Red Devil. BOTH cards had cooling issues. The reference didn’t have Vapor chamber issue, it just had frequent hotspots of 98-102 with 2900 RPM fans (with good tuning). Then, the tuned Red Devil was also hitting over 100 hotspot with stock settings AND tuned settings. I had to argue and fight for an RMA. They said I had to pay for my own shipping and the turnaround time would be like 3-4 weeks. Screw that. I repasted the card and now my max hotspot is 78C in the most demanding games. I’m very disappointed with the quality control of these MASSIVELY priced products. I have spent months wasting time on getting this card working properly because I was deliberating breaking my warranty by repasting.

In defense of the Merc 310, it is a double slot card that actually manages to be the coolest air cooled card. The fans spin very fast and so its a bit louder than other cards. Other reviewers have said its really not loud. Its also one of the most affordable, right now its only 900 dollars brand new witch is head and shoulders better than some options here. All this combined with the fact that it has the highest power limits besides the ASRock water cooled one, and nearly the highest clock speeds, and you start to see why so many people are buying it right now. Its just in a super good spot if you can deal with it being a little bit louder

Check this before U buy.. a small comparison, focused more on value (high performance but less expensive) :
Up = better value / down = lower value (considering Price Vs performnce)
1- Powercolor Hellhound: beats all cards in it's category.. no card can beat it (cheap, low temps, OC well, queit fans..etc)
2- Sapphire Pulse: cooler is ok.. just slightly better than reference, but it's smaller than others (don't OC well tho)
3- Asrock Phantom: good.. but it's known for screw issues, not worrth the risks
4- MSI Trio / Giggabyte: In the middle.. not the best, neither worst, their issue is their higher price (They prefer Nvidia)
5- XFX Merc10 is super-huge with horrible fans.. which supposed to do well, but it's the worst considering it's size & noise
6- Asus Tuf: huge as Merc10 with more $$$.. nothing fancy about it, except their high MSRP xD
Best value of them all that did well in all categories is "Powercolor Hellhound" , It's Cheaper than reference.. Big 3-slot heatsink.. low temps.. Quiet fans.. OC well (415w OC) & can be found for like $900-$950 (never go above 60c in my RIG) 64c OC
There are also Saphire Nitro+ & Red Devil.. but they costs $100+ more, with slightly better temps & OC.. so i skipped them
Reply if U want spesfic question about any of them, OC advice, Underolt guide, or anything.. I'll answer probably

I got the Pulse at Black Friday, it was US$200 cheaper than everything else in the 7900XTX league. In my setup (warm days, room temp close to 30c), hotspot was getting to 80C. I changed fan curve to like 75% above 70C and 100% above 75C, it didn’t change noise much for me, temperature is now under 70C most of the time (hotspot). I’ve also done some undervolt to 1050v and limited gpu to 2300Mhz, which cut average max power to 280-300w and keep things cool. I don’t need to max everything, I’m normally looking for efficiency and noise control. And ensuring card will last a lifetime. The Pulse has also 2 HDMI and 2 DP, which I really like. I’m sticking with HDMI whenever possible.

I recently got the MSI Gaming Classic Trio 7900xtx on sale. This card has the lowest power limit of all the cards presented. You can only increase the power limit by 8 percent versus 15 percent for the other cards. The max power limit is 374 Watts. The card temps are about 60-66 with the GPU Hotspot between 80-86 when gaming. as the fans run at approximately 50% power. For every percentage increase in the power limit, the card temperture and hotpsot will go up as well. This card is not so great for overclocking at 3.0ghz+. From what I have seen in reviews though, there is about a 5%-12 percent increase in performance when overclocking, which I am ok to do without. In Canada, this card has been on sale as the cheapest. It's a decent card if you don't want to push the power limits and overclocking to the maximum. It's not the best, but not bad either if you can get it for a good price.

I wanted to replace my 6900xt with a 7900xtx of the same thickness because I have a 100 gb nic in the slot right below the current 6900xt. Here is my find: thinnest xtx is the Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX GAMING OC 24G. 50mm or 1.96 inch thick; same as my fe 6900xt. Barely 2.5 slot. @jamespalmer5477 I went with the nitro. My only concern is I have a 750 watt psu it's an evga platinum, so it's quality, and I have it paired with a 5950x. What psu and cpu are you running what kinda power draw you pulling? I have a 1300 watt psu I have to rma, so I will probably use that when it comes back. Just got the nitro installed last night man I used the cooler I had with a 9900ks I used it's case an h500m but its am4 mounting used the stock am4 cpu brackets which is awful using this clips. 1000 watt PSU with a 13600K Intel 13 gen. Power draw is fine mate unless you're significantly overclocking 1300 watt is overkill. I get incredible frames out of the box so I won't even bother overclocking. @@ChadKenova

@jamespalmer5477 yea, but I will be running the 750 for a couple of weeks or more, but I had it with my 4090 build but picked up an msi 1000 watt psu with the 12 pin connector. The 5950x has pbo turned on and, with it maxed out, might pull 120-140 watts but much less on a gaming workload. The nitro seems to pull about the same wattage as my ftw 3 3080ti on it oc bios 400-450 it's crazy how much more efficient the 4090 unless you pushing it too the limit compared to the ti or nitro. But the build has 3 nvme drives and 2 sata ssd's. And it has 6x120mm fans 1x140 and 2x200mm fans.
