Then I found that you got the M50. Now I'm dusting off my M50 and starting to use it again :). Good videos. Awesome work.

This was a good review. I love the honesty. I have both cameras, but I'm constantly trying to figure out how to get the M50 to give me the smooth skin quality that the G7X Mark ll does. Like you, I wish the G7X Mark ll didn't have the fan like sound rolling in the background because that would make it the perfect camera for me. I have an external mic for the M50 which gives me great sound, but I hate the dark picture quality I get from the kit lens. I've messed around with the manual setting, but every time I get my skin to look good, the food I'm cooking or eating looks washed out. Do you have any suggestions as to the best settings for the M50?
I’m still learning the M50 but I’ve been learning so much from the ThinkMedia channel on here! I really think I need more practice with it.

did you try stopping your recording, then plugging in your lapel mic, and then restart recording to see if it works then? and there might be some audio recording settings, not sure though, I don't have the M50
I did try, the mic wasn’t for cameras, only phones I guess!

I was also considering the G7X Mark III, but Canon dropped the ball on the autofocus even after a firmware update it's bad. For beginners the G7X Mark II is still a good camera, I also use it for the videos on my channel. However want to go/upgrade to 4K so, I got a Sony ZV-1. That camera is excellent. The M50 is a bit too bulky to use outside for my taste. With the standard kit lens, the Canon G7X Mark II is giving the M50 stiff competition. You can tone done the exposure on the G7X mark II with the dial. It looks a bit overexposed. The G7X Mark II is still a powerhouse if you use manual settings. I was shooting in Auto, but If you use manual controls, you get better picture as it sometimes make bad decisions when it comes to aperture, ISO etc...
Really the audio is the biggest thing for me with the G7X Mark ii. The autofocusing grinding noise was just way too much, the M50 doesn’t seem to have that problem.
I am considering buying a gopro hero 8. I need something that I can do thrift hauls with that I can put in a fanny pack with a hole for videoibg that isn't so conspicuous.

@@AmyBales I just got the Canon M200. I was wondering which one between the M200 and M50 are better.
Now that I’m not sure about! I don’t have any experience with the M200, but I’m sure there’s at least a few comparison videos between it and the M50 on here ☺️
