I’ve been on this for about a month and a half I’m more suicidal than ever before and am drowsy throughout the entire day. Have also gained weight while working out twice a day with no dietary changes if anything lessening consumption

I was on it for 18 months, got a lot heavier. I've been off meds for a year and still have anhedonia. Even stimulant drugs no longer work on me.
I know someone personally who took his life on this in a dream state at night

Sadly, he was a physician himself. Horrific shock for all concerned. We blame the medication. He used it strictly for sleep but it changed his brain.
@@strongwallersWhile I am sorry for your loss mirtazapine probably wasn't the cause of this. It takes a huge dose to get the psychedelic effects out of the medication. When used properly this medications not strong enough to make someone just accidentally go crazy.
I know your situation hurts and you would look for reasoning into why it happened but posting these kinds of comments will cause people who really need this unique anti depressant to not seek treatment leading to possibly very bad results.
With all do respect, you don’t know enough about this psychotropic drug to make this statement. I’ve heard testimony from top physicians and researchers in the world-some who took part in the initial studies before bringing these on the market. You should do your research beyond what a pharma rep hands you. Dr. Healy UK, Dr. Whitaker-just to name a couple . Frankly, it’s bc of opinions like yours that suicides continue to increase and other mental illnesses have been dealt with in such erroneous fashion. Anesthesizing the brain is not the answer. There’s a reason for the Black Box warnings-thousands have died or have had other serious side-effects. You can read the court transcripts of many of these lawsuits and experts-much has also been written about this subject. Be informed before you speak.
