    I started taking this 2 months ago and it has helped me immensely. The first couple of weeks are rough. You are going to eat and sleep a lot, but once you power through that, you will start to feel normal. If you are a male, this would be a great time to start weightlifting. I very rarely feel down, I have more energy and a stronger desire to pursue hobbies and my studies. It's not a perfect drug, but compared to Wellbutrin and Celexa(SSRI), it is miles better. I recommend staring on 15mg which is what I am still on now. Also if you have any questions I'll answer them.

    • @bigpoppapenguin4219
      @bigpoppapenguin4219 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for sharing! I am a male and wish to try this next. Been on many SSRIs since 18 (29 now). Tried Effexor and pristiq too with no success. Afraid to try Wellbutrin on its own, as I have very bad anxiety along with my depression. I’ve been on antipsychotics too, which are the worst class for me I’ve ever shoved down my throat. Tried lithium and lamictal. I just hope that remeron can calm the anxiety down enough to try Wellbutrin along with it or something else. Is remeron all you take??

    • @swift23219
      @swift23219 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      BigPoppaPenguin Yes, Remeron is all I take. Without taking any substances I have terrible anxiety, mainly social. Remeron has decreased a lot of my anxiety; I wouldn’t say it’s a night and day difference but it definitely has helped a lot, anyone would notice it. Nothing I’ve ever taken has done more for my anxiety than Remeron. The motivation boost is also helpful.
      I tried Wellbutrin for a couple months that I later paired with buspar. Had a terrible reaction to it that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. I wouldn’t let that deter you from trying Wellbutrin as I did notice a positive effect on my depression.

      InstaGraham thanks bro for being so encouraging! I’m on my third day of mirtazapine at 15mg. The first day was really strange. It induced a hangover effect on me, like an alcohol afterglow. Very enjoyable. Right now I do feel a little shitty but I know that it will pass with time. The sedation isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I can still get up and do shit, but I still feel sluggish and exhausted often throughout the day. Also hoping this passes. Are there any energy supplements or things you do to counteract the sluggishness? I am definitely active with exercise, but this is gonna be difficult this week with getting out an exercise due to the riots and curfews in effect here in California.

    Mirtazapine worked wonders on my depression, but the weight gain was unacceptable (20 kg in half a year, in spite of sporting regularly and not eating more). So I had to quit the med, and suffered from withdrawal a couple of weaks (nausea, headaches, dizziness). You should probably learn how to eat clean. I can eat tons of calories of healthy food with no weight change. As soon as I eat shit food, with less calories, I'm packing on weight.

      Mitrazapine slows down your metabolism so that you will find it much more difficult to lose weight. Any low-calorie diet can also lead to slow down the metabolism, unfortunately because the metabolism needs to rev up by eating a lot. I had been taking, and not gotten any effect from 4 different anti depressants for 5 years before I was put on mirtazapine. When I started taking it I had daily ptsd flashbacks and haven't had them since. It also made me able to sleep again
    I have gained some weight and I still have really bad anxiety but was a life saver for me

      call out to (or simply pray) Jesus Christ! I said a prayer for you, but you've gotta decide on your own to call out for help from your Creator. Take the same mindset you have with experimenting with medicines for help, and try Jesus for a change. He will change your life. Praying for you and love you!
      ps.
      i take some psych meds too, so that's ok. but Jesus is the only answer to *demonic* thoughts of suicide. I know that sounds "hardcore" to the average joe, but do you *want* to be thinking about suicide all the time? No? Then where are these thoughts coming from? A chemical reaction that makes you want to die? I'm sorry, but that's a myth. Your brain is there to help you *survive* and *thrive*, not to convince you to die...that's the work of the *spiritual realm* and it's evil. Please ask me any questions you may have!

      I was on it for I would say for about 1 -2 years it never really helped with my anxiety but I just kept taking it because I became dependent on it. It helped me skip a dose of Xanax occasionally cause it would put me to sleep for a very long time. The withdrawal symptoms are pretty brutal. But not nearly as bad and any benzodiazepines. I would recommend to everyone to only take any kind of anti depression medication for a extremely short period of time and do tons of exercise if it’s actually helping and to slowly wean off of it.
