    This medication was my absolute lifesaver. I respond terribly to SSRIs, my body is very sensitive. This medicine worked from dose one for my insomnia and debilitating anxiety. I’ve been on it almost a year and a half witu no need for a dose increase. No weight gain at all (I’ve lost 15 lbs in the last year in fact), I look at life much more positively and have a lot more energy, am more outgoing and social. This is a Godsend. To anyone struggling to find their medication or combination PLEASE do not give up, it takes a few tries as it did for me and I was so discouraged but there is something that works for ur brain chemistry 💖

    Thank you so much for this video and the comments below. I am severely underweight, I have no appetite and have been depressed since 2015. One day my mom was taken away only to die in 2019. I left Florida and moved to Tennessee and my new primary care doctor has prescribed me this drug. I don’t really have sleeping issues but The loss of appetite and depression stand out. I pray this works for me.

    I have been taking 15mg each evening and my sleep has been vastly improved. ( Due to not waking up every hour ) I am thankful to my wonderful Doctor for prescribing this medication for me. I am even starting to see blue skies through the dark clouds after four doses. My last anti depressants which i had been taking on and off since 2010 was Escitalopram in different doses had lost its effectiveness. I want to get back to my old happy humorous self and this may be the start it. I hope this anti depressant works for you! Peace, love and happiness to all! 😊 💖👍🏻

    The issue for a lot of people, is when you first start taking it the sleepiness. So if you're working at the time it can affect that. When the sleepiness during the day goes after a few weeks, it actually helped me a lot at work, reduces anxiety and stress and gave me a drive to work hard.

      @Ohkeh640 never had seraquil myself (I don't think) but it seems to zombify ppl. I never even suffered full on panic attacks I was actually suffering opioid withdrawal. But since having been given anti anxiety meds I too now know what a panic attack is, like you're drowning or dying but you're not. Absolutely horrible feeling. This medication seems to only have 2 main side affects for me hunger and morning drowsiness. Otw it's just a slight mellow feeling taking the edge off things throughout the day. I tried to go up on the dose but felt a bit weird at times so I stuck with the low dose. I can think much clearer and actually do basic things without being as frozen or paralysed with anxiety. This drug doesn't seem to zonk me throughout the day which is great. Hoping I can take it short term n get on with things after that. Cheers.

    I have been on Remeron for 10 years. I have been scared to quit. But I decided a while back to stop. I had extreme insomnia and suffered from overthinking at night. But for 10 years I have been very overweight because of this drug. I binge at night, which also led to bad self esteem and another type of depression. I have been drowsy and had no energy for years. I can barely remember my life without it. For a couple of days I felt weird and unstable. Shaky. But then I all of the sudden out of nowhere feel happier and a type of joy I haven't felt in years. I also lost all my cravings instantly. It is really weird. I think Remeron is a great thing for a while to get you back on track. However I think 10 years have been far to long so you lose sight of who you used to be. For me, I should have probably quit years ago. And for some it probably works wonders over years too :) I think these kinda drugs there is such a huge variety of experiences. And you can only really know until you try it yourself. Dont lose yourself like I did. I am happy to be out of it now and to find who I used to be again :)

      i completly get where your coming from i was on the stuff for 9 months and its hard to describe to people who arent on it, but the best i can say is that part of your brain which motivates you is gone, i was so diffrent as a person while on it, i lost all emotion and i didnt see anything wrong until i realized one day that on my daughters birthday that i felt nothing a complete indiferance of emotions, i couldnt even cry anymore, and i aplaud you for coming of it after 10 years, it truelly is a nightmare drug which only people who have taken it will understand, because it made me not depressed but also made everything else disapear which you kinda need to be a fuctional adult, and i do wish doctors would stop recommending this because its cheaper and less tested then the alternative.

    I am in the UK (well Wales) and have just started on these last week, started on 7.5 to give me some peace from my crippling anxiety (I have suffered regular mental collapses since 19 on and off) they have helped to an extent however find myself sleeping in up to 11:30 (bare in mind a lie in for me is 8am) and struggle with grogginess for 1 to 2 hours after afterwards, one side effect I have had from them is increased aggression/burst of rage over silly things on and off, I have just upped to 15gm the aim is to hit 30mg and the rage seems to have got worse so will be speaking to my GP/MHP about what to do next (as I dont stomach SSRIs very well since turning 40), and whilst not helping me with regards to the anger issues, I just wanted to thank you for the best and most informative video I have found on TH-cam, It has helped on many other levels of understanding, you have yourself a new subscriber, thank you

      Try boxing if or a punch. My testosterone is ..feels.. so low rage would be a good thing but I don't know how bad your rage is but we all know how a few seconds of rage can do more harm than years of drug abuse. I played online poker and my god if you want to experience the full range of emotions that is one place to experiment. I hated being a loser and that drove me to control my highs and lows and although Xanax won me tournaments in real life there is honestly no need for medication in controlling your rage. All these meds catch up on you at our age and take any bit of good out life there is ✌🏻
      Poker will mess you up but it has a lot to teach you about life. I got made a fool of one year and was going around angry until I wandered into a casino and remembered all I learned about controlling my emotions and realized that I had let an "opponent" get me angry causing me to make catastrophic mistakes in the game. My god ... I'll never forget that moment.
      I wish I had an opponent now cos I have zero motivation. I want money but I'd rather watch TH-cam than walk across the road to collect it. Side effect of the poker I'm starting to think

    I have battled chronic maintenance insomnia and anxiety for some time. I finally went to a psychiatrist who prescribed martazapine. It is really helping me out, I’ve been using it for 5 weeks.
    It took some adjusting, the sedation effect was really strong for the first week but at the same time I felt restless: during the day I felt groggy and at night I’d wake up and fall back to sleep constantly. Natural sleep vs sedation feels very different.
    However after about week 3 I feel adjusted, I’m sleeping so much better, feels more natural. Hopefully after another 2 months I can start waning it off.

    This medication works incredibly well for my depression. I tired sertraline and citalopram (ssri’s) for four years before getting on mirtazapine, and they didn’t do anything to help. The only side effects that I get from mirtazapine is weight gain and vivid dreams (that sometimes manifest as nightmares, but not often enough for it to feel like a problem) but I’d rather be overweight than depressed at the end of the day. Mirtazapine also does wonders for helping me get to sleep, and feeling well rested in the morning. It also acts as a strong anti-histamine which has cleared up my allergies and hayfever so I no longer have to take tablets for that anymore.

    Better than most of the SSRI's / SNRI's. You have to trust the medicine and keep taking it at least a month before judging it. The extreme sedation during daytime tends to go away completely with time. The appetite increase does not go away but if you can excerise some willpower you can keep yourself from gaining weight / overeating. This drug can augument or be combined with almost everything (unlike most other antidepressants). It is also very effective against allergies.

    I’ve read about high efficacy when combining this with Buproprion. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, can be great combination. Especially when using higher doses of mirtazepine to get greater norepinephrine effect. Bupropion can also mitigate the increased appetite of mirtazepine.

      Would it be weird to request this combination from my psychiatrist (or at least ask her about it)? I've been trying TMS therapy but it's just not enough for my MDD and meditation has been a double-edged sword for me. Thank you.@@LevelheadedMind

    I'm afraid to take all this. Is it truly safe?

    I took it in a small dose at first as suggested by my doctor it knocked me out cold but as I increased the the dosage it was less of a sedative worked well but the the 3 stone weight increase from 12 1/2 stone to well over 15 stone

    So in the lower dosage such as the 7.5mg, is the weight gain still a big issue or is it more prevalent at the higher dosages???

      Hi, I took this for the exact reason and whilst I never suffered from anxiety attacks I've found that mirtaz has made me see logic in some situations and able to put harmful thoughts to the back of my mind. Been on them roughly 1 month.

    Is mirtazapie more sedatiing at low doses and does thsi medicine effect kidney function on long term as my creatinine level is 1.2mg/dl age 25 male plz reply

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is more sedating at lower doses and it can impact kidney function over time so make sure you are monitoring your kidney function with routine labs.

      I used to take it while drinking heavily regularly. I don't know what damage it caused, but I'm still here. Alcohol isn't a big deal with this drug. It just makes you more drowsy.
