Most Free To Air Channels in North American Satellite TV KU Band Channels you will need a Linear KU band LNB to receive the #FreeSatelliteTV channels on Galaxy 19 @97 west, Galaxy 17 91.0°W, 95.0°W Galaxy 3C, 99.2°W Galaxy 16, 103w SES 3 etc
The abbreviation LNB stands for Low Noise Block. It is the device on the front of a satellite dish that receives the very low level microwave signal from the satellite, amplifies it, changes the signals to a lower frequency band and sends them down the cable to the indoor receiver.
How do I check my dish LNB?
Turn on the meter and check the signal strength. If you don't get a reading move the dish either right or left about 3 degrees at a time to see if you can locate a signal. If you do locate a signal, even if the strength is weak, your LNB is working.

I have found that stability is a key spec of an LNB . An LNB with a PLL(Phase Lock Loop) has eliminated my intermittent drop outs
Yes these type of LNBs cost more but are worth it. A good LNB with a PLL has stability of less than +/- 300khz, the lesser brands are +/- 1000khz.
This kind of excessive drift will cause issues especially on weaker transponders. The GEOSATpro SL1PLL v2 is one I use quite successfully on a 100cm dish.
I am sure there are other PLL type LNBs with equal performance or better.

The LNBs are exactly like the OTA antennas. They only receive the frequencies they are designed for. The LNB converts frequencies from 10.75-12.75 GHz band to 950 - 2150 MHz. The receiver is the one that matters. In Europe when you buy a LNB you see on the package that it has HD ready, 3D ready and 4K ready. People gets excited that they have 4K channels and surprise the old receiver doesn't get 4K only HD. If your receiver is HD it won't receive 4K, you must buy a 4K receiver to get both HD and 4K. I also recommend to use only RG6 cable. If you ever see RG59 or 3C2V never buy them, they are crap. I've tested an 3C2V satellite cable the signal quality was worse. And If you combine an OTA antenna with a satellite dish through a diplexer I recommend a tri shield or quad shield RG6 cable.

If one does not the lower band (10.70-11.70 GHz ) on a universal KU LNB set LO to 10600 and turn on 22khz. Most North America sats don't have lower KU band. Speeds up blind scanning.

Could we get a "channel scan" of all the channels you receive on each band, with commentary on signal strength? I'm starting out and not sure which band to pursue. Have no ideal what a "loop out" is. :|

    • @stanleybest8833
      @stanleybest8833 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Saw off a few inches of the arm and make a wooden adapter that holds your new LNB in the same place as your old circular LNB. The same adapter will swap to Dish Network oval dishes. Gain on our bargain dishes is pretty marginal and so is focus. You might find your setup blind scans two widely different satellites simultaneously (a mess).

i am usually don't find many Ku band channels much besides 30w and 65w...seems good set of channels on 30w since i watch movies on both cubavision and multivision , while every night on 65w NCN TV Guyana channel shows latest movies like Joker and Sonic the hedgehog....a 720p but its audio kind it off like its streaming elsewhere ..i find many channels for latin america site from portaleds.com and gives every detail on what satellite beam footprint so i can look it up on satbeams if its in my region for south of border texas since majority is native to my language ...since i setup my dishes for my mother and i so we can watch whats available from her native country channels plus north American available from 91w to 103w while 58w and 113w she watch majority time ...cband have many more audio options than ku band ... but its great have both on one dish thats only works on 8ft where its on same arc where 58w is...while i was impress how far ku band reach on 8 footer solid....from 30w to 65w, i used chinese cheap 4 lnb scaler holder...it helps a lot but for ku band i used multi lnb brackets and mod it to attach on scaler like a extension rod to reach 65w and same for other end ...reach 30w since 47w is center and 43w is on left, while its not far for 30w for ku band ...thats very impressive since cband have harder time on that sat cause its what between its weaker sats while 58w is only strongest to pull in majority its programming...its very satisfying on my end

A multi output lnb will give you independent polarity's so you should be able to get as many as you need. Some LNB's have 4 outputs just to send the antenna to multiple tuners. Great for Master Antenna Systems. th-cam.com/video/m1CoFOcwpdg/w-d-xo.html

@@arisntivartzis8300 How To Watch Satellite Tv in two or more rooms
      th-cam.com/video/9gcONhTjVP4/w-d-xo.html
There are multiple ways to split a Satellite signal. The main problem that viewers face is not being able to see a separate channel on each television sharing the signal. If this is not an issue for the setup, then the following options are available for those who wish to continue:
Method One - Using Optional Receiver Outputs
If the televisions are not too far apart, the simplest option is to use the available outputs on the receiver to split the connection. Most modern day DirecTV receivers have the following outputs:
HDMI - Used with HD Televisions using the HDMI cable interface.
Coaxial Cable (Output to TV) -The coaxial cables can be screw on or push on.
AV Cable - The 3 wire configuration (Red, White, Yellow).
Component Cable Output - The 5 wire configuration (Red “Video,” Blue, Green, Red “Audio,” White).
SVideo - used with SVideo capable devices.
A DirecTV receiver can process video through each and every output available on the hardware. The most common setup for optional receiver output is using the HDMI connection for the most immediate television (since HDMI cables come in short lengths), a component cable connection or AV cable connection for the next closest television, and the coaxial cable for the furthest televisions. Any combination can be used as long as the cables’ lengths are adequate for splitting the signal this way.
Of course the quality of the signal will be different for each output due to the nature of the technology being used and the quality of the signal being routed from the receiver. A large number of households can accommodate the splitting of the signal this way. Viewers should consider drilling holes in inconspicuous locations to shorten cable lengths. This is because long length cables considerably lower the quality of the signal that the television receives.
Note: Many options use the Red and White audio outputs on the receiver. Using more than one would require an additional splitter for the sound output. The HDMI and coaxial output carry their own sound while the others will more than likely compete with the Red and White outputs unless the receiver comes with multiples that are meant for additional stereo speakers to be connected to.
Method Two - Using a Coaxial Splitter
Most DirecTV owners can use a coaxial splitter to split the signal without having to purchase another receiver and adding an additional line to the system. The coaxial splitter can be used in two ways:
Splitter close to the Receiver- A short coaxial cable is connected to the receiver. This is then connected to the television (within a few feet) closest to the first split line. The second split line must run the length to reach the next television, which can be several yards away.
Note: The television that is closest will more than likely be the one to control the channels on the receiver that transmits to both televisions.
Receiver at a mid point - The receiver will be placed at a location where both televisions are more or less an equal distance from each other. The cable splitting the line goes out of the receiver to the location where a split is most effective at a mid distance. The two split lines are then passed through the length that is necessary to reach both televisions.
Note: Changing the channels for the receiver may require someone being close to the receiver to change it manually or via remote.
Remember that televisions display the same channel when using a coaxial cable. The television that is furthest away may also have a weaker signal. The fuzzy/snowy artifacts that appear from the signal is usually evidence of this.
A Multi-Switch can come in many designs. Using a DirecTV approved option is the best way to get the most compatibility with a single satellite dish. Multi-Switches can have two or more satellite inputs and have four or more outputs to the receivers. Depending on the brand and amount of connections needed to split the DirecTV signal throughout the household, Multi-Switch costs can be higher.
Note: A single satellite dish may only be able to support two receivers depending on the type of dish it is. If the service is designed for a DVR receiver, additional equipment and lines may be required.

@@RobbieStrike thanks for the detailed answer ! i want to NOT lose any signal strength on any receiver.i do already have 2 coaxial cables waiting to get connect on twin lnb.the main problem is that, becauce of the polarity i dont want to lose any channels..i want also both receivers working without any lose.with one LNB i think that i will lose signal strength and using multiswitch.thats why i decided to use a twin lnb on the dish.finally the best solution is the UNIVERSAL twin LNB or STANDAR.
