Well, I don't know what I just watched but good first attempt. Next time, if you're going to paint something in your garage at least do a make-shift paint booth with at least a cheap spray gun and compressor. Oh yeah, and get some sanding blocks next time! You should never wet sand like that by hand. That whole hood should have been blocked down. It's cool you got to do this with your girl, good memories. Keep up the content guys

Sand with 400,prime,seal,paint,clear. Grab a sanding block or a piece of wood
For now we wrapped it in a gloss black lol, but soon yes well be re doing this project!
I took over two years to build an airplane. I tried painting it with proper equipment, was a fail. It was the only thing I farmed out to a pro, and basically most projects get painted by a pro. There is a lot of proper equipment and skill necessary for a decent paint job. Recall OC Choppers built bikes, but didn't do the paint..
You're so right. Everything looks really easy on TH-cam lol. We tried and failed so now we're in the process of getting a wrap done instead! Should be much more simple
How does the center vent come out, i want to paint mine, but cant see how it comes off.
It should just pull off, the dealership might've put 3M to make sure it doesn't fly off as well.
This adventure was a fail because you did not recognise this was job for a PRO. Getting involved over your heads will now cost you more than the hood.
