  • I attempted my first ever oil change, on my 2006 dodge charger RT. I had some complications. Which you'll see, but we were able to remedy it. Now I'm looking forward to doing my own oil changes from here on out. It was a lot of fun! and I encourage everyone to learn to do their own oil changes. You won't regret it, and you'll save yourself a few bux.
    good luck! and have fun!

      It was really easy, there probably better videos to watch if you’re trying to learn how to do it properly.
      I just recorded myself attempting it for the first time 😂

    Bro where did yu get the hood an how was the fitment when you got it installed?

    • @ChargerDriven
      @ChargerDriven  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought it at amerihood.com
      I installed it myself with help from a friend.
      It was quite easy, actually.
      The fitment isn’t 100% all around but not too bad.
      If you go to my channel and watch “3rd mod update” I show a close up on the fitment , and talk about a small problem I had wit it, and how we fixed it.

    Hey I’m about to get an 06 rt. This will be my first car! Anything important I should know before getting it 😅?

    • @ChargerDriven
      @ChargerDriven  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      J Rodzz oh nice dude! Well keep in mind that a v8 charger is bad on gas! ⛽️ lol 😂
      So a lot of money is spent on gas.
      And 1 thing is to make sure to change your radiator as soon as you can if it still has the original one.
      Someone had warned me about that, because they have a tendency to stop working and the car overheats and kills your engine.
      And that’s exactly what happened to me.
      So I’d advise you to change the radiator.
      But other than that the charger is SO MUCH FUN!

      They have a big ass problem of dropping the valve seats into the pistons, so bad that it’s almost not about if it’ll happen but more of like when... 2006 to 2010 5.7 hemis are not the best. I know because I own one and has that problem put gas in my car it was running fine right before tried turning it back on and nope thing wouldn’t even crank spent $7k on a remanufactured one and replaced everything except the trans.

      @@Notactive454 lolz same... 06-07 valve seat failures, 08-10 timing chain tensioner failures, either way there both engine killers,, dropped a valve seat in mine at 180k miles, spent 5grand on a short block and about another 3 on heads( with a valve seat replacement so it doesn't do that again) and a cam, id get the heads reworked(fix for the valve seat failures) and ported while there off on any 5.7 from 06-07 so that doesn't happen, it's cheaper that way lmao

      @@Notactive454 mine was running better then it ever had, went to the gas station on a cool fall day, filled up and when I turned the key,, nothing....towed it home, pulled the heads off and cylinder #3 had exploded the piston and shredded the head

    These Hemis are oil consumption engines they almost burn a full quart every 3000 miles if you put in an extra quart so 8 quarts by the time you need to do your next oil change you won’t be low :)

    Where did u get the hood from

  • @reeroctv
    @reeroctv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oil filter or bolt not tight enough probably Nd probably when you missed the hole

    • @ChargerDriven
      @ChargerDriven  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ReeRocc TV nah it was that hose that connected to the intake. When I poured the oil in, it burped back up and went through that hose, and leaked down. That’s why the intake filter was full of oil
