My mother told me once, two decades ago, that she always wanted to write Jackson Browne and just tell him thank you for being her friend..... I was a teenager in the 90's and Dimebag was my hero, my idol, the reason I picked up a guitar. After life kicked me around a bit I've let go of my angst, and have also found a friend in this wordsmith. Thank you Mr. Browne. From three generations, we thank you..... (My grandfather was also a fan)

This slender young man comes onto the stage and sings a song that is so deep and powerful in a pure voice that turns the song into a masterpiece. Love you, JB!

I too was so impressed by the way this young man who walked out onto the stage alone with only his guitar with such a presence and command of the song. At the end the camera pans to the audience which turns out to be fairly large. Checking his age, if recall correctly he was actually around 36. But still, quite a feat : a master with the command of the stage.

"Don’t ask me, if he'll show… maybe. I don’t know." Reminds me of Dylan's powerful "how many times will a man turn his head… the answer my friend, is blowing in the wind."

Dude, Jackson got lots of love and still gets plenty. This guy is one who did it all on his own terms and rode the bus to the top of the pile. In the late 70's and 80's, he was at the top of the charts. He was then and is still my idol. Truth is, everytime I pick up my guitar and sing in public I am pretending that I am JB. Long live the man.

It's hard to choose a favorite. At one point i picked his entire 1st album, b/c it was great and it introduced me to his music. Now, at 66, i realize how much i love Late For the Sky (album), leaning toward The Late Show as a favorite. I know now i can love that song/album w/o taking anything away from my love for all of his music. I think we all appreciate the greatness of Jackson from his songwriting ( genius) to the greatness of David Lindley, to his music writing, ( other than lyrics) , to his bands who were/are always the very best. I didn't even mention how so good looking he was/is. My love for him and his huge contribution to the music world is eternal.

While even to this day----90% of his stuff is still otta' my league, he taught me something I'll never forget while yackin' with him later. Play when you want to! Even if you feel like crap. Don't EVER play in front of----or for ANYONE, if you don't feel it----. People will sense it it, and you'll sound like crap-----even if it's your "signature" song.

There’s a pretty good space between the seat and the stage maybe 20 feet and he was standing right in front of me 20 feet away singing me all his songs along with the full capacity crowd I don’t know a few thousand people in there. It was just a phenomenal concert and to tell you how much ticket prices of changed I bought that ticket scalped for $50. That same seat would go for at least $500-$700 now probably 1000.

I would not leave him "in the light of the morning" as he sings here lol - DH is a nut with her stories back then. Late for the Sky is one of my favorite JB albums. Thanks for posting this for us.

the song always reminded me about the days when I was working on the road as a construction journeyman. starting off at the bottom pretty much made my way to be one of the bosses. but this song has been in my heart for years. however bittersweet there is some place in this world for every man:-)

This is the era your old man grew up in For Everyman Jackson plays this song so friggin great on his acoustic guitar versus the piano

Like a moth I'm drawn to Jackson's Flame. My cynicism, frustration, and fear melt away. My possibilities reappear--young and strong and hard. Not too bad.
