Today's video is really two separate videos combined into one. I will show you the summary steps I take to make a Maple Burl Vase with a Walnut support base. Each piece is presented as an individual project. The big challenge with this project was sizing the base to be a perfect complement to the vase without it looking too overpowering or too small. It's always easier to remove material than add, so I just kept taking it off the lathe and doing multiple test fittings until the final sizing was dialed in.
