    I think our pay as beauty therapists could be so much better but it’s the love of the job that keeps us here with the same unchanged pay. I work in South East London I make more or less the same per hour with commission on treatments, courses and retail. I’m living more than comfortably but it could be so much better

    I recieved my qualification in February. I’ve been living in ibiza last few months and been back in uk for 2 weeks. I have level 2 and a diploma in nails. I can’t seem to get a job! No one is giving me a chance and they alll want level 3, I feel so defeated 😞😞

    Hey Lovely another great video! Thank you! ive worked in beauty retail for estee Lauder Companies and although I loved it, there was always something missing, there was no substance (personal opinion) to the job and after wanting to become a beauty therapist for so many years i feel like my qualification will give my role more meaning. Im hoping to work at a Clarins spa as i find many salons work inline with retail expectations and sales targets anyway so this way i could remain in the industry i love whilst perfomorming actually treatments and finding it much more fulfilling then being on the shop floor. As you are someone i look up to i would love to know what you think of that plan? (on a side note; Learning the Anotomy and Phisiolgy of the body is killing me- it's so incredibly hard!!) Thanks again hun
    xxxx

    • @itsmelisates
      @itsmelisates  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thank you! Sounds good! Retail is important for all salons so it depends on which brands you want to work with. Some salons put a lot of pressure on retail and it can become stressful. Others are more relaxed. You have the retail experience already so it may feel like your comfort zone! You will only know if it was a good plan or not, until you actually do it. A&P can be tricky but you only have to do it once and it's done! x

    I'm a Laser therapist here in Sydney and i get $13.50 pounds an hours with no tips and commission very hard to met and to get anything. I was actually considering moving to London to work there next year but wondering it worth it as that not as high rate that i get here and i feel like i would struggle living out of home on $10 pounds an hours haha. Do you know if laser therapist get paid higher in London compare to beauty therapist or it would be same rate probably? Thanks for the video xxx

      Laser therapists get similar pay to beauty therapists it is between £9-£15 an hour depending on the area of London. Tips and commission also vary depending on the salon x

    Hi, its so interesting! I live in New York City and have 2 main jobs as a beauty therapist. At my one job I earn 14.5 pounds an hour in the noho area. We don't have a selling target , get 10% from product sales and we receive tips on every treatment, the other salon I work at is in Brooklyn and I only recieve a hourly of 20 pounds an hour with no commisson and I rarely get tips.
