    Thank you so much for your advice!!! I'm doing my level 2 beauty therapy in Scotland. I started in August. What you said, a lot of it my lecturers have said. I was a midwife for 10 years prior to commencing thus course. Currently doing facial and waxing just now. One thing i would say is people don't realise the amount of work involved in this course- the level of academic work involved is high. It was on par with the amount of anatomy and physiology I did at uni in 2004-2007. So if anyone thinks it's a nice little relaxing makeup and powder course - think again. It is hard but very rewarding and enjoyable. Thank you so much for approaching the subject regarding massaging men lol.

    I don’t like that a Beauty therapist have to do manicure and pedicure! That is why I am going to start the Advanced Level 4 to the Aesthetic side.

    Old vid but defs have felt uncomfortable going into a appointment, exposing my junk for laser treatment. But no bad intentions and went smoothly. Can honestly vouch for having a instinct for bad intentions though.

    May I ask you to make a video on facials? I'm from Italy and I don't know if we do the same way. I know it may sounds silly ahhahah but my mom is a beauty therapist and I know her method, but I don't really know if it is the one everyone does or not.
    Also, what product do you recommend for facials? :) I find your videos really helpful!! THANK YOUUUU

      Hi darling, so sorry but I can't make that video because I can't remember what comes in the kit. The things I do remember getting are nail tools (clippers, cuticle nippers, cuticle pusher, scissors), tweezers (normal and automatic tweezers), tinting kit, yellow facial sponges, mani/pedi sponges, cuticle remover, cuticle oil, nail polish (top/base coat, red, white, nude, glitter), face mask brush, paraffin brush, white headband, palette (for makeup), makeup brush set, mirror, eyelashes x2, single eyelashes x2, plastic spatula, I think we got a box of wooden spatulas disposable gloves and foot file but not sure, textbook and a ugly lcbt bag. I'm sure there were a lot more included but I just can't remember them! I did my course 3 years ago so the kit may have changed but I still hope this was helpful! x

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope we just got a beauty kit. We did not get makeup but they did have a box of makeup provided for us to use or we brought in our own makeup from home. Nearly all the girls preferred bringing in their own makeup x

    Can you recomend some good beauty schools in and around london? Also I have looking into different cources and quite confused which qulification to choose: ITEC/VTCT, CIBTAC or CIDESCO? Does getting ITEC/VTCT level 2 and 3 will help getting job in UK?

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure which beauty colleges are good as I only went to one place for both my level 2 and 3. I feel like they are all pretty much the same and it honestly depends on which teacher you end up with. When I go for job interviews, they ask for Level 3 beauty therapy qualification - it doesn't matter if it's ITEC or whatever. You can find a job with Level 2 but I do recommend doing Level 3 too :)

  • @ummfawaz5958
    @ummfawaz5958 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Do I have to do the level 3 if I complete the level 2 beauty therapy ? Also how much does a level 2 student earn ? Thank you

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really depends on which route you want to take. You do not have to do Level 3 but it will open a lot more doors if you do. Sometimes Level 2 is enough and you can go on short courses to expand your skills. If you want to get into the aesthetics side, some salons even ask for a Level 4 qualification! Salary varies a lot depending on your experience, working hours, commission & location. I would recommend checking job websites to have a better idea! I wish you the best of luck!

    • @ummfawaz5958

      Most of the time you have to complete level 2 beauty therapy to progress to level 3 because the treatments in level 3 are more complicated and complex than the treatments in level 2

    Is a ‘Signature Facial’ a mini facial?/ is ‘Signature Facial’ is another name for mini facial?/ are they the same?

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ekso Stan Legends stan EXO Normally no they are not the same. Mini facial can be 15 or 30 minutes. Signature facial can be 30 or 60 minutes. But this depends on the salon and skincare brand!

      That's great I hope you enjoy it! I recommend that you read over topics before your lecture and prepare any questions you have. Be organised and don't leave coursework until the last minute. My last and most important tip is to practice treatments at home if you can!

    Hi thank you for all your videos they are fantastic 💓
    Would you say that there’s a maximum age limit to begin a career in the beauty industry and start a beauty therapy course? Also, Would you say that training in beauty therapy is a bad idea if you have mobility difficulties? Or is there ways to make it work? I’d really appreciate your opinion and again thank you so much for your videos they’ve been extremely helpful ☺️🥰🥰

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, some people may disagree but I personally don't believe there is a maximum age for it. If you're good at beauty it shouldn't matter if you're 18 or 50.
      In general yeah I would say it may not be the best suited job but it does depend on the mobility difficulty and the treatments you want to offer x

    New subscriber 😊😊 I really love this video. You did a good job, keep it going 💙 I'm looking into beauty therapy and considering if it's for me or not. For most of my education journey I stick to media and I'm now finishing my last year. I feel like it's too late for me to go and do a different subject course as I would probably need to pay and I'm not sure which area I would like to focus on. As well as find a course that's best for me.

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you I'm glad you liked it! I finished my psychology degree then went into beauty not knowing what I wanted to focus on. Once you study the course and work, then you realise what area you would like to get into. So many people in my class were older and have changed career paths so it's never too late! Just make sure you really think about it. Call up a few places and ask them any questions that you have. You can also go to an open day at a beauty college to get an idea x

    • @klarasa8648
      @klarasa8648 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LCBT should have open days so you can have a look around. They are in central london so if that's easy for you to travel to, you should check them out because they have improved after I left :)

      Melis Ates is their a difference between technical & diploma

    • @melisatesbel
      @melisatesbel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I haven't heard of a technical diploma but just had a little search for you - I don't see a difference. The course modules are the most important thing to look out for. For example, some level 3 beauty therapy courses don't include electrolysis as a module which isn't good if you wanted to train in laser in the future.
