I hate how people say "I thought you were smart?" When I say that I'm a beauty therapist. So I just explain everything I'm studying just at the moment and what more I have to learn x
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
i love this video!! i'm about to study beauty therapy and this makes me excited, even when you talked about the disadvantages i am still keen and there's disadvantages to every career anyway! :))
I'm a beauty therapist too, and can completely relate. I also think a disadvantage are the male clients who act sexually inappropriate towards you and also people with terrible hygiene. A lot of people will treat themselves and see a beautician if they are going through something traumatic in their life, so it's really important to be mentally strong. I've seen a few of my female clients who were covered in massive bruises from being bashed up by their partner & they will often breakdown in the treatment room. It's a rewarding job but it's so important to not let the clients emotionally drain you.
Thanks for the advice I had no clue what I was gonna do in college but I started thinking about beauty therapy because I have always been fairly good at makeup ect... I didn't know there was so much pros😂so thank u soooo much!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm starting school very soon to become a beauty therapist, and I have been thinking a lot about what the outcome will be like, and if my natural "passion" I've had towards beauty related things will be enough to overcome my nervousness about the customer service/sales side of things. I'm glad I found you! You're very positive, and genuine. To be honest I expected much worse disadvantages, lol :)
I agree with you I'm a hairdresser and people think we are thick, but dont realise we have to learn the hair & skin anatomy, colour and cutting theory and it's hard. When you say that people like oh ok and shut up. I also understand you when I cut my hands witch I do a lot with my scissors and then I panic incase I'm going to get something and a plaster is so annoying. Great points
Actually every job in this world should be respected and must not look down because each one of us has an important role. Shame on those people who tend to look down on us. just imagine if makeup artists, beauty therapist, stylist, beauty consultant all these people in beauty industry stop doing their services who would they count on??
I once got a really inconvenient cut on my hand. I wasn't deep but it was on the heal of the palm, I was so worried because we do facials with a lot of peels and concentrated solutions which would anger my cut. Luckily my manager gave me the most amazing trick. Put on a nitrile or latex glove on the injured hand, and then run that hand under hot water and the glove will shrink and mould to your hand so it doesn't feel like your wearing any gloves at all. Your hand is protected but is also not noticeable for your client. I even asked one of my regular clients after if she could tell I had a glove on and she said no.
Thank you so much, your advise has been very helpful and informative too. There will always be work in the 'beauty' industry it is a very wise career choice.
Does anyone know the difference between a beauty therapist and an esthetician? Is there anything that an esthetician can do that a beauty therapist cant do? Or is it just same thing but different terms depending on the country youre in
I've always thought it was just different terminology depending on the country you're in. US & Australia seem to refer to aesthetician but offer similar to Beauty Therapist. I'd say they are one and the same thing.
Hello Melis, as you know I love your video's. I've been using them in class for a couple of years now. I've just revisited this one for my Glamour Technician page. (I know you don't mind) ;oD Keep up the good work.
I am doing a PhD but... I always wanted to become a beauty therapist. I am not sure at the end of my PhD (when I will 32 yo) I will be able to start this adventure. Thanks for thiis video.
Chanel F I did their beauty therapy with makeup course. The makeup was very basic so if you want to be a makeup artist I wouldn’t recommend that course but I do recommend it for the beauty side x
Yes you can but be cautious by wearing gloves where you can and using plain unscented oil when doing massage so you don't irritate and make your skin worse x
I have a question❤️ Im going into college and im doing beauty therapist, but im not sure which diploma i should do. Should i start with 1 or go into 2?
