Thanks Gaz, great video either way James and the pair of you have a great on screen chemistry. The video work and editing was great and I think it helps you to concentrate on the golf and presenting 👍🏼 James should improve massively from course management, club selection and conditions as well as easing and aligning putts - can’t wait to see!
Thanks Adrian. Looking forward to seeing how much we can help him. It was nice having Adam, gave us the opportunity to capture more of what would usually be off camera . Thanks 👌🏼
I carry a 3 hybrid and an old Macgregor VFoil 3 iron which is essentially a driving iron. I have had issues with my Driver so I tee off with a 3 wood which I have a lot of confidence with. The three clubs overlap which is helpful. I can use all off the tee, all off the fairway, and my hybrid as a rescue club. I do lose a little distance off the tee but I am able to keep it in play with the 3 wood.
@@garymartingolf It is definitely saving me a ton of shots! I am able to be in play of the tee 8-9 times out of ten verses 5 times out of ten. Fore right!
Good to see your dad on the channel Gaz and how is he getting on after Mr Player gave him a lesson? Nice looking driving iron from Caley and very well reviewed
I do have a driving iron. It's 21° and it's from a company called dynacraft. It's a clone of a srixon u85, I believe. I do like it, and it does seem to have a place in the top of the bag, even though I don't have the higher speeds usually needed to operate one lol. The components themselves cost like $45 with shipping, then I had to pay someone to assemble it, but that wasn't too bad. Altogether, I think it was about $60, so for an experiment that's actually kinda worked out, not to bad.
It's one of those clubs that you'd play in windy weather, hybrid would balloon into the wind... What I'd be interested in seeing is how it stops on the greens compared to the hybrid.
I’m not going to lie, I don’t think this club has got much stopping power. You think you would have to land it 20 yards short. I might try to do something video wise with that though, maybe with a camera but the green to show the reaction / bounce.
Great show, nice looking iron, so i take it from your dads drives that this was filmed after Mr Player worked his magic, and did you dip into Mr Robinsons bag no lake balls then 🙂
Had a titleist U510 2 iron very similar to that one you played. I have very bad remorse for part ex'ing it and would love to get it back. Still loving the content Gaz.

Not having a driver in your bag is most likely saving you a lot of shots. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have a driver in my bag 😃🤣

Thanks bud. Hybrids definitely out the bag until things soften up ⛳️

I’ll Google that, interesting. Never heard of that brand. Thanks
Mr. Martin is a beast.
I’ve got the u500 2 iron - 17 degrees. I love that club.

I won some credit from the long drive, some I got some TM Stripes as they didn’t stock Titleist 😅

I know. It’s so easy to let them go in the winter or after a few bad rounds, but you’re on with them, they’re lethal clubs 🔥
loved the look of that driving iron, something I should consider
Lovely club for when the fairways are dry and rolling 👌🏼
The furtherest😂😂😂 love it...
😅
Looks like your Dad is still “ milking the cow” as Gary Player said 😂. Looks a lovely course 👍
😂 It’s going to take a lot of monitored practice I think, so easy to fall back to where’s comfortable.
Im gonna have to try one.
It’s very hot off the face 🔥
Nice video Gaz
Thanks bud 👌🏼
Well done gaz 😊
Cheers Roy 👌🏼
Unfortunately no wind. 🤷♀️
It wasn’t unfortunate for us 😀 Last time I visited Scotland, we could barely stand up 🤣
Something to keep ball under the wind, maybe some of the pro’s should have considered that for the open?
They must of done, but in the 3rd round on the back 9, some of their drives were only going 240-250, that wind must of been a different animal 💨
The hybird was going further
I think it would have if it was wet, but its landing angle and backspin has prevented it rolling out.
Was that a new ball? You ok Gaz?
What do you mean ?
@garymartingolf I mean it's actually round and shiny, it's not an old lake ball 🤣
@@lexxwhite747ahaha, ohh lol I won a voucher for that long drive at LIV(e) golf event, so I got the TM balls lol 😂
@garymartingolf That might well be the most Yorkshire statement I've ever heard mate 🤣🤣
What balls are you using gaz
Taylormade Tour Response Stripe. I’m won them in a golf day, so I thought I’d use them for my social golf ⛳️
@@garymartingolf are they good balls
