It seems to me they are naturally polite and smiling most of the time ! Your drone skills my friend are next level by the way ! That was just another amazing video
From beginning, to its conclusion, this work exemplifies mastery in the art of telling a worthy story. It brings us, once again, into a world which for me is so dissimilar to my daily life. Yet, the common thread which binds the construction of this tapestry holds a shining truth: The heart of every man and woman is a root from which all else is known. This viewer is continually impressed, and encouraged by the skills. But, much more than this, I hold gratitude to have heard the heart of a distant fellow traveler. I, too am proud to be one of them.
I know little about running a large ocean going vessel. However over my 60 year career I have learned to recognize quality and excellent leadership. You said that you are "proud o be one of them". You sir are an excellent leader and I am sure that the crew is proud of the work you do. Congratulations. Happy Easter.
Thanks Chief. As the son (now 76 years of age) of a former Chief Engineer in the British Merchant Marine, I am impressed. But most of all; I was extremely impressed with the saying of Grace Before Meals by the families and crew of that ship. They were not scared to demonstrate their faith when they made the Sign of the Cross. Great Vlogs. I have enjoyed all of them.
Chief, Well done, Sir! The emphasis on safety, the cleanliness of the engine room and ship should make your company very proud. Their commitment for excellence shows in their priorities and in you! Thanks for another great video!
As usual Chief an awesome well done video. Your videos are well edited and flow smoothly. You have a pleasant speaking voice. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and continue sharing the life of a seafarers
Looking at that "welcome" buffet for the oncoming crew and their loved ones tells me this is a Filipino crew without even seeing anyone. I have a few Filipino friends who have taught me in their own friendly way that great food and warm fellowship are a huge part of their culture.
"Goosebumps" while watching your last episodes @Chief_MAKOi Love the way you conduct your life and profession by choosing the perfect team. Very emotional and inspiring. It was great to see you on board again. Thanks for sharing! Best wishes from Spain.
I don't know why, but I love watching your videos at night they are both informative and just very relaxing, which I bet is quite the opposite of the content of many in regards to all the work that is being done.
Ang galing, dating seafarer din ako.sa cruise line ako bilang cook.alam ko ang hirao nyo.nkakainspire, sayang at di ko man lng nasubukan sa cargo vessel magtrabaho.but God Bless all seafarers ng pinas at sa ibang bansa.
This VLOG was refreshing to me after rewatching all of your other videos, thank you for this,I cant wait for you to return to sea and make some new memories.
Thank you sir. Your videos are so amazing to watch. From the drone shoots, to the information of the ship, and of course crew, and family. Thank you, God bless.
Hats off to you, sir! You're a true renaissance man. You're a poet, a philosopher, a sage and an all-around good guy. I've enjoyed your very well-executed videos very much.
Just found your channel. Love it. It's nice to see a gentleman who knows it's not all about him but it takes a whole crew to make a ship go. All the Best to you and you family. Safe voyages.
Excellent video Chief Makoi, thanks. Great insight into the organization, operations & professionalism of the crew and company leadership. Beautiful port and people, brings back many memories of a life at sea in the Western Pacific! Thanks!
You wrote exactly what I also wanted to say. I enjoyed this video tremendously. One of these days I'd like to meet the Chief when they're in Kalama Washington. My old stomping grounds and just south of where I live now.
Missing your 'at sea' blogs, but after four years on a Destroyer during the Korean War, I understand how it is to be ashore and with family. Having said that, I totally enjoyed my sea duty.
Well..all I can say is...another outstanding video, well done, as always. I imagine it felt good just walking up the brow and getting your feet back on deck, even though you weren't getting underway. There is just something about standing on a ship's deck, the smell of the air, gulls flying overhead, it just feels good, underway or not. Thanks again Chief for another GREAT video, all the very best to you and yours.
Just signed off, and watching your great inspirational video Chief, so much integrity in that ship, we must learn from them. Thank you for sharing this lovely video.
Really enjoy your videos. Have spent hours watching. I worked on large draglines some with large engines with elect drive so I enjoy the equipment being like what I worked on and maintain.
It's interesting to see how professionals work all over the world. When I was on active duty, I served with many people from the Philippines. They were great people to serve with.
Chief mako if they passed your inspection of the ship then we know it is in good shape and good to see you back on board great video as well thanks ronrdzlmb
I love your videos, Chief. They helped me finally setting my mind on joining the merchant marine. Next week I'll start my courses to become a deck officer also thanks to these videos. Love and many thanks from Italy
Thank you Chief for another wonderful video. This was very interesting. I'm always amazed how bright, clean and cheerful the engine rooms are. The views along the coast were stunning! Such a beautiful country. If you're ever out driving and pass water with a caribou nose just barely out of the water, please film it. People who live outside the Philippines have no idea that the whole huge animal is underwater and only his nostrils are on the surface. :) That used to fascinate me and I'm sure it would others. There are so many wonderful little things than no one knows about and when we live there tend to take for granted. I remember every detail like it was yesterday. That pig looked so good I could eat the whole thing!! All the food was fabulous! Thanks again for all you do.
You make very nice videos. Well shot, well edited and well narrated. I live inland and have no real experience with teh sea or merchant marine, but I find your videos quite interesting.
Hello, Chief. I have watched your videos already for a one year. I am a cadet in Admiral Makarov Academy in Saints Petersburg. I will have my first practice after a couple of months in MTM company. I am really surprised that you working there as well. That will be amazing, if I will be on the one ship with you. Thanks for your videos, they really helps new marine workers in English skills and also in sea-going procedures knowledge and some aspects. THANKS A LOT
I could listen to you all day. You do a great job. You should really try to expand what you do. Send some tapes to the different channels especially the discovery channel.
Wow. Being a seamans look pretty similar to the U.S . squidlits life on board the carriers, cruisers, destroyers, and corvettes, I was attach as a security personnel on Abraham for sea duty 10 months before I went back to the fleet and got to see the NAVY way of life... As jarhead grunt were land base fighting force .... but sea life is fun if only once and a while......got to see Lotta places and Lotta ports..... I gotta give to you guys sea fearers....SALAMAT PO Respect.. God bless Gods speed
Grabe hands down to you Sir! I've been watchin your vlogs and all of them are so informative. Highlighted ang safety parati. Hope to meet a mentor like you Sir! More power!
Chief makoi na addict ako sa kapanuod ng mga vlogs mo khit hindi ako seaman. nakikita ko yung hirap at sarap ng work nyo. pero worth it talaga. ingat lng lagi sir😀
Hey Chief, I have just found out your channel and I can’t stop watching your excellent videos! Great content and congratulations YOU ARE A GREAT COMMUNICATOR! You should launch your naval security awareness company and will make a ton of money! Keep up the great content!
You have a very nice work. I love pork but I never tasted the lechion. I am colourblind and that makes me not pass the medical exams for maritime courses. I love sea life and I live near the ocean. I sure wish if the International Maritime Organisation could allow colourblind persons to work in the maritime industry. I have family just like everybody else. Nice video.
Having said you understand the importance of hands on leadership, I must assume you don't work for AMR. AMR would never tolerate good operations staff or supervisors.
We were always finding band clamp soft patches on the piping of most ships. My biggest thing when doing Port State Control inspections was the safety of the crew. Many management companies would let stuff slide, I wouldn’t.
Still not sure how I ended up finding your channel. The twisted path that is the recommended list is an odd one, but i'm very glad I did. Greetings from Oregon!
I'm getting hungry watching this video. That has to be some of the best food I have ever seen on a ship anywhere. That food is better than the best food you would find on a cruise ship! Nobody will want to leave the ship with that type of food onboard☺
Haha mostly they are not !! This is a good one , some may be a lill bitt off but not like the movies I guess . This is a shipnrun by a good organization
Its good to know to have a filipino professional with experience working as an inspector at ports. Like you chief. That way we can protect our beautiful shorelines and marine life from corporations who wants to cut shortcuts in our countries
You really have a reason to be proud, Chief! BTW, the lady with you, in high visibility vest, is a part of your "leadership visit" team, and others are family members? No female crew members yet?

Good to see you Chief. you look well and relaxed. you also look like you've been enjoying some home cooking. Not that it's a bad thing. Oink, Oink. Sorry, just yanking your chain Chief! ;)

Having said you understand the importance of hands on leadership, I must assume you don't work for AMR. AMR would never tolerate good operations staff or supervisors.
kaka miss na rin mag barko since 2017 hindi pa rin kakasakay salute Chief More Vlog To wait....
Looking forward to your next contract.
We were always finding band clamp soft patches on the piping of most ships. My biggest thing when doing Port State Control inspections was the safety of the crew. Many management companies would let stuff slide, I wouldn’t.
Very interesting Chief ! But don"t let us wait so long for your next video ! Try to make it on a monthly basis ! Thx man.
Still not sure how I ended up finding your channel.
The twisted path that is the recommended list is an odd one, but i'm very glad I did.
Greetings from Oregon!
Probably because our ship traded in Oregon a few times last year. I even made an episode about the Columbia River Bar. Thanks for watching!

Great to view your videos again. You do a great job.
Chief you are a cool hardworking guy. Good Luck and Good Health to You.

It feels great when your loved ones got the chance to visit you onboard ship.
Nice to see how the Filippinos are keeping the Faith.
We have been lied to. Movies, tv, and video games have led us to believe engine rooms are dark, dirty, and greasy.
Haha mostly they are not !! This is a good one , some may be a lill bitt off but not like the movies I guess . This is a shipnrun by a good organization
Hello from Minnesota, USA. God Bless you Chief.
Thanks Jeremy!
educational tagala ng mga video mo sir makoi, thnaks po at atleast nakita ko kahit papano ano loob ng chemical tanker
Its good to know to have a filipino professional with experience working as an inspector at ports. Like you chief.
That way we can protect our beautiful shorelines and marine life from corporations who wants to cut shortcuts in our countries

saved for later, as now need to do shopping, but cannot wait :). Good to see you again!
You really have a reason to be proud, Chief!
BTW, the lady with you, in high visibility vest, is a part of your "leadership visit" team, and others are family members? No female crew members yet?
She was my assistant. Some ships have female crewmembers.
if the cargo was cooking oil...
the rating would be Class -1, but there would not no vapors in sufficient quantity. ?
Division-2 would apply, (accidental discharge) but all vapors would be below the LEL ?
Group... no group fits, no explosive gasses, no dusts.... ?
most tools, brass and aluminum ? very interesting to have to think about the worst possible of the worst possible, because you cannot just call for some emergency vehicles to drive over in a few minutes.
Thanks, making me think a bit !!!!
Good to see you Chief. you look well and relaxed. you also look like you've been enjoying some home cooking. Not that it's a bad thing. Oink, Oink. Sorry, just yanking your chain Chief! ;)
