I personally couldn't get it to boot for installing/updating, and then after install boot for using it for games/web browsing etc, without having a USB stick connected, something that persists. the initramfs link got blocked, is it the same to download one from another website or it needs to be specifically for belize or other types?
Hi. I have the initrams he uploaded. If you want I pass it to you, although it is only for the internal HDD.
@AbuelitadeCoco-s6c ah, i am looking for external hdd. I have been have issues with other initramfs saying there isnt enough space when i have 2tb and using he external command

Been waiting for this
thanks mate, wanted to install kodi on ps4, this will definitely help, cheers.
Okay but lowkey for ps4, they should be using Fedora kernel base but like gamescope only. Rather than full on linux, if they'd like a gamer os, you'd squeeze more performance out of the ps4.
he never says it in his recent videos, but it seems like it's already a hightime for 9.00 gang to give it a shot and update, we are already missing out too much and I see no problems / complaints coming from 11.00 people.
Curious if anyone has any recommendations for best settings trying to run games on this , I tried playing a small game in “my hero ultra rumble” and my game froze soon as I hop in a match
hey so just wanted to reach out for some help on my linux setup
so i have the same goldhen version my ps4 is on 11.00 fm and my southbridge is baikal B1 though it isnt a ps4 pro so i did all the steps got the baikal kernel versions tested them both one didnt load the payload (the beta kernel with vulkan support) and the other booted but got no image i havent tried different fedora 38 baikal version which is what i will do next and i have followed with your exact video and system settings shown in your video have no idea what to do now apart from that dont know if there are different intrafms i could try (selected external hdd on intramfs) im stuck hope you can help :D
Baikal is not only PS4 Pro but I also had it on PS4 Slim. I wonder if there are any Pros on something else than Baikal because I would like to install linux directly on the disk
Yes, there is Belize
What would be really nice would be to make a tutorial to make the wifi and Bluetooth work on PS4s with the MT7668 adapter, I have an internal HDD installation and everything I tried doesn't work, I really wish there would be a pre built internal HDD initramfs file with the fix, I found a modified 5.15.15 for wifi but I can't find or build a initramfs file with the fix for the life of me...
I have some Windows non-steam games. Can I run them on this Linux? They are not connected to another launcher like EA or Ubisoft either
You could look for an install script on lutris.net
I have Aeolia A2 @MODDED WARFARE as south bridge. what do you recommended for linux?
What did u end up going with?
same :,)
I am on Aeolia A2 Southbridge so I did the following and got Fedora 38 installed:
use the internal harddrive install intramfs file
use the 5.15.15_codedwrench_AEOLIA_BELIZE_patchs-Yoshi_config-saya_v1.1_intern-extern kernel file
use the 5.15.15_codedwrench_AEOLIA_belize_non_overclock_1594mhz_leds_rouge_violette_saya bzimage file, you have to search the name, it won't let you post the link
copy all over FTP using WinSCP on Windows or Cyberduck on Mac, hope that helps!
@@dannywright5715 aight is it same steps?
@@dannywright5715 im gunna see if this will work, since ive gotten the newroot error so many times.. Its really annoying.
thought my slim was the perfect form factor for a little linux computer in the living room but turns out i got a baikal southbridge like some sort of second class citizen
u can still run linux on that tho??
How can you install a new distro to replace one you have currently installed?
just erase the hard drive and repeat the instalation steps
This is great work although I feel it glosses over a few steps. I personally couldn't get it to boot for installing/updating, and then after install boot for using it for games/web browsing etc, without having a USB stick connected, something that persists. Not sure why, especially when both the USB stick and HDD initramfs are set for internal HDD and the correct files are in /user/system/boot as per the tutorial. Without the USB stick plugged in it literally shuts the PS4 Pro down after about ten seconds, without fail, every time, but with it plugged in it works perfectly. Any tips would be appreciated.
Hi, sorry for the inconvenience but when I change to GNOME I get an xscreen saver screen and it asks me to log in again and then it loads the normal desktop but it doesn't allow me to make any adjustments. Could you tell me how to fix it?
14:30 My slim did this too. Does it happen EVERY time??
Wonder if at some point we could install shortcuts to Linux games on the PS4 dashboard
You came on the right Taime🎉 thanks for you ❤️ i lover to you❤
If i install this linux, then can i play steam with online multiplayer and safe?
hello thanks a lot for your work and explanation, is there any way to shutdown just linux without entire console? is there anyway to put a kind of linux icon on the ps4 dashboard? thanks
Why the jellbreak 11.00 stop after restarting the ps and I have to connect it to pc again
^ guy who doesnt understand the exploit he's using (basically the ps4 patches it into RAM which gets cleared when it loses power)
The link you have for the psxitarch is not right, I got a zip file the only ends in .tar not .Tar.xz. When u extract it, i get a folder with loads of files
With FW 5.05 it's not working. I'd appreciate a Linux tutorial for older FW like 5.05
Cause nearly all manuals nowadays only support 9.00 and above...
Sadly

I only would want linux on my ps4 pro to run Kodi (XBMC). Is it worth it??? Do I need to run the payload thru ethernet everytime I want to boot linux? Can't a shortcut be made to launch Kodi? Can GoldHEN payload and linux payload exist in the hdd without having trouble with each other?
Pls made a video how to install batocera on Ps4
does steam only let you stream games? or can you download and play them from the ps4?
Thx a lot for the tutorial im on 9.00 and i have fedora 38 since 4 months aprox. Did you have any problems with the wifi and the Bluetooth after the update?, when i update with the excludes of course it broke the wifi and Bluetooth, my ps4 works fine only have this problem on fedora, after thinking and thinking i finally can exclude the update of wifi and the Bluetooth too, so with this lines added every time i update the distro always have the default versions of this, try this when you have time, and please let me know if the issue dissapears in the update you did for your video, to finally update the wifi and the Bluetooth or will be better to stay on default versions?
im having same issues with wifi and bluetooth disconnecting
In the discord they discussed downgrading bluez/blueman on fedora 38 and it fixes the disconnection issue for bluetooth

Update: After i rebooted went to inserted the 3gvram payload and it booted back to linux now ps4 controller shows up in dolphin emulator
i should try that thanks bro i only used the 2gb vram so far
I was trying to to do this on my ps4 with southbridge Aeolia, whenever I run exec install-psxitarch.sh, after the screen says copy files to /backup, it just fails, it can’t mount new root (the root of the new install), after manually mounting the drive and seeing text output, it didn’t extract the tar xz archive containing the distribution (Fedora 38 by DF AUS), I was using Full LTO 5.15.15 kernel by saya and initramfs by hippe68, is there anything else I should do?
