I tried some of your suggestions in the comments about kicking the bots and playing online, here's the follow up video with that: th-cam.com/video/rlGrvKxgYtY/w-d-xo.html
You can fix the console freezes by setting up a swap space. 16gbs for the swap size is best. It basically utilizes your HDD storage as "RAM" when the system RAM reaches 100%.
I used to do this with my potato PC I installed an SSD and partitioned part of the drive to be used as virtual memory Now I do the opposite, half of my RAM is dedicated to being a virtual boot drive for nearly instant startups
Actually Windows 95 installed programs faster if you wiggle the mouse on screen. "wiggling the mouse causes the application to process I/O messages faster, and install quicker."
It doesn't really work like that, a graphic task cannot natively work on a cpu, that problem is present on laptops because usually they have both an iGPU and a dedicated one To be more precise, yes, CPUs can elaborate graphic tasks, but i assure you it's not a 7fps thing, more like 7 minutes per frame
This is exactly it, Its all running on CPU, I was trying to find the info on it. But as far as i know homebrew is not yet able to fully acess gpu, So its all software rending. this is why emulation outside of using sonys official emulators don't get any good performence past something like sega and SNES.
@@v.h.s.italiaMesas LLVM OpenGL and Vulkan CPU renderers aren't *that bad* on modernish CPUs, honestly somewhat in line with the performance from the video. Man, I remember when the PS4 was coming out and it was so immensely powerful and had perfect graphics. "I know people have said it before, but graphics can't get better than this."

I think we’re at the point where graphics won’t get crazy better. Diminishing returns. Aside from frame rate I don’t think the jump from ps4 pro to ps5 was that big, it’s better but not a ps2 - ps3 jump

It was pretty funny because the PS4 was seriously under powered even compared to budget hardware at the time, everyone was just so used to the Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics
Three basic CS things: Don't think you run this in full screen instead of fullscreen windowed... so it will drop frames. Loading a local game with bots is dropping frames with each bot. Playing online will probably get you 20-30 FPS . CSGO and (by and large) CS2 is CPU based. So technically more RAM would be better. Even on pc, console/launch commands like no_joy to improve performance. Killing unnecessary features
Was gonna mention the same thing about the bots, they absolutely TANK performance, super CPU intense for some reason and also the HRTF binural sound option destroys performance on the CPU as well.
You have to delete the videos folder in the panorama folder for cs2, as its rendering a full 2.5d map in the background aside from what you already play.
I just tried this, and it doesn't really seem to make a meaningful difference on the PS4. Kicking all the bots helped a ton, but the game is still at like 60% speed
If there's any low-end PC configs for CS2, it'd be cool to see you incorporate those, like we're talking the maps literally look like N64/PS1 texture levels of low.
yeah you can change the textures to be limited to super low resolutions i had that on for a while but it didnt help my frames at all and the skins looked.. stylized

nope. i have a horrible laptop. i can assure you 1000% that bots ran miles and miles better than with real players. like 50 fps with bots and 10-20 fps with real players
Hi! I used to play cs2 on Linux, the audio problem might be because the game uses ALSA or some other lower level system directly by default instead of a higher level system like pipewire or pulseaudio, there is a command line argument to fix this, but I don't remember it right now
And about the game crashing when loading the map, you might need to increase vm.max_map_count, check the proposal Fedora made for the recommended value and how to change it
Knowing the ways of the almighty Linux, this might be because of gpu drivers being wrong. Also Linux version of CS2 works way worse than Windows one. Well, at least that was the case for me
@@shadesoftime And that's the reason it doesn't work on PS4 because the drivers are shit just like Nvidias But the drivers on PS4 are shit because it's so obscure it's not worth creating them and Nvidia is just incompetent
Honestly if PlayStation actually released it as an official game with optimization, then 60fps would be an easy target for them. Sure they might have to build the game around a new engine but it’s durable for sure.
the problem is that there are no drivers, there is no real support for linux for a ps4 because that's not really it's main purpose. the gpu is very capable of running this game in specific at 60 frames on 1080p low
A perfect example how differently the same code can be translated on similar, but different platforms. Or how much optimization work being made on console versions of games, how much raw performance power PC games need to render pretty much the same games.
Yeah ikr I was thinking it would run better because it runs decent on the steam deck and immediately after seeing 10fps I went oh yeah duh optimizations aren't here 8gb of ram and that horrible cpu that's even worse then the medicore CPU in the deck
No, it is not at all an example of PC needing more performance to run the same game. The reason that it works so badly is because it was not programmed to run on such slow CPU cores, the programmers expected a minimum core performance level and optimised the code accordingly (i.e kept things in a lower number of threads, which is faster if a computer has the required CPU performance).
@@thedausthed This isn't about CPU. Without extra details, try to run God of War or Uncharted with console settings and resolution on PC with similar specs and you will see how this is "not at all an example of PC needing more performance to run the same game". Spoiler alert: it does, much more performance needed because in addition to different platform, there is usually no f given to optimization in PC ports.
I remember in 2019 before I got a computer good enough to actually run csgo I wanted to put linux on my ps4. but then I looked up a video of the ps4 getting 16 fps on csgo. It doesn't even make sense how they make modern games run on that bad of hardware.
Its because just running a pc game on hardware that was never meant for pc games with no regard for optimization is always going to run like shit. Duh.
Fun fact: CS:GO was ported to the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in the day, the PS3 port even had Steam integration (like the old non big picture Shift-Tab menu but console) and Steam crossplay was promised but never came. Same thing for Portal 2, but Steam crossplay was added there. Fun fact: The PS3 Steam integration no longer works, except the news tab! You can still access the game news for both CS2 and Portal 2.
Given your tests, I think Radeon drivers are not working and it is using LLVM to run the 3D on the CPU. You can check with glxinfo and vulkaninfo. But given you don't have multiple resolutions, it is also likely the GPU drivers are not installed on that distro. This runs Cyberpunk at 30ish, which on a PC that does not can run CS2 at 60 (i5-3470 + GTX660). Htop will say if it is a RAM problem. CS2 also has the bad habit of turning on FSR on unsupported GPUs, so one usually wants to turn that off or resolution will be lower without the perf benefits. I already tried CS2 on low end hardware on Linux and find these results strange. If anything, the CPU would be the main problem, as besides being slow, it is further hurt by higher latancy GDDR vs desktops.
@@humanbean6672 On the PS4 they're based on the regular drivers. PS4 Pro has extra hardware for checkerboard rendering, so that one would be extra work.

it could be interesting to try connecting to a local server hosted on ur pc on ur ps4. then you're not running client and server instances so it could increase framerate
The ram usage is high due to vram overflow into system ram, had you played with 4gigs of vram you would have most likely had better performance. That said I dont know how much ram cs2 needs so it may still run like molasses. Edit, this is windows default behavior so it may not apply to Linux, however as its a mildly easy and intelligent optimization I expect its a similar process there.
Yea possibly, and cs2 has some issue either with the vulkan rendere or just the linux variant that doesn't occur with the dx11 windows variant that causes it to usee way more vram.
9:44 This issue is because Lxqt (the destop enviroment that you used in the video) uses the openbox windows manager, and that windows manager has bugs with steam. A easy fix is to install Kwin,go to your menu then go to settings and click on session, then select kwin_x11 under the window manager tab. After selecting kwin you will need to restart or log out.
I think it will end up on the ps5 but not the 4, considering csgo was playable on the xbox 360 and ps3 makes me guess valve will find a way to optimize it for ps5 and xbox Series
with how low the ram is thats probably why performance got better when playing for longer periods ram loads in textures and when its done loading them it usually improves performance, this is the case for every game but if you have say 64gb of ram, don't even worry bout it
The best part is after he launches into the first practice game there literally isn’t enough CPU to go around for all the bots so after a moment literally only one bot on each team actually moves lmao

I think it will end up on the ps5 but not the 4, considering csgo was playable on the xbox 360 and ps3 makes me guess valve will find a way to optimize it for ps5 and xbox Series
the 360 version was fairly optimised and probably doesn't have much memory leaks. modern source and source 2 games tho have a shit ton of memory leaks
@@MaxCE im not surprised 😂
valve is probably never gonna put cs2 on console lmao
the mere concept is asinine
Subbed after I heard that Sonic R tune during the overclock
transparent terminal is genuinely cursed
your second doom toaster video can be about putting chimeraos on it , you would be surprised what a 50 dollar pi can do now a days
banging off the rev limiter had me dying. i was crying
The human eye cant see above 30fps, so this is completely playable. PS4 systems at the next major!
Idk man but I can easily see the difference between 30, 60 and even 120 fps
@@PixelRyzl🤓
wait, am I getting gaslit or is this real?
0:31 WOW! That's cool feature of this video!
The splash screen definitely flashed you the C word...
the dankpods influence is so real
''Let my know what you want to see me do with this thing next''
Just let it die. Let it rest
(Jk, good video)
4:50 liked and subbed just for that edit lmaoo
with how low the ram is thats probably why performance got better when playing for longer periods ram loads in textures and when its done loading them it usually improves performance, this is the case for every game but if you have say 64gb of ram, don't even worry bout it
sneakiest product ad placement ever
"Were banging off the rev limiter" Was the best LMAOOOOOOOOO
Oh look, a new video
Bringus on
"the next 29 seconds are unedited" *proceeds to zoom in*
Interesting, I think it's gonna

Amazingly cursed level of banging through launch 😂
i have to chew on a nerf dart because i think i have a wisdom tooth coming in
This is the third appearance of the almighty linux station 4 actually
How ps4 handled God of war ragnarok at mid graphics?
The best part is after he launches into the first practice game there literally isn’t enough CPU to go around for all the bots so after a moment literally only one bot on each team actually moves lmao
my teammates wonder why I didn't see the enemy in the dark corner of the map, also my monitor resolution: 4:10
Finally I can play Counter Strike with Nintendo Wii graphics on the PS4
CSGO was playable even if you don't have a really good laptop/PC , but after release of cs2 . Its been barely playable.
the bots in cs2 absolutely decimate fps
0:46 "Gay Baby Jail (or otherwise known as GBJ) is a feature in infinite welfare. It takes the form of a rainbow-colored jail cell.
If the game suspects a player to be cheating or a player is banned by an admin, they will be sent to Gay Baby Jail.
Once the game detects a player to be using a HBE (Hitbox Extender) or said player trips the anti-fly 3 times within 120 seconds or less; the "crasher" will activate, which will loop a loud noise and will attempt to crash the cheater's ROBLOX client by eating up all of their PC's RAM. If the cheater is still in the game 20 seconds after the crasher is activated, it will automatically ban the cheater from the game.
Every time a banned player tries to play infinite welfare, they will be automatically sent to Gay Baby Jail"
ahh moment
Should have tried kicking the bots lol. This is awesome tho 😂 the red dragon mouse man noooooo 😂
0:46 if you squint, it looks kinda like you're reading a xenakis piece
Man, that's not FPS, that's Seconds Per Frame
I believe thats OUR Steam account now.
That Linux distro not Sus at all.
1:58 its actually a bit weird that I play roblox on my xbox one and memory usage wents over 2gb on max graphics
