The cop with the AR could have covered the other cop while that cop advances onto the burm. Then that cop has lower access to the legs and feet or when the guy pops out to shoot.
Insteas, the first cop runs backward under fire on the side where the shooter had best access to him as a target. And then he eventually asks for a shotgun? God I hope hes asking for that because his vehicle doesnt have an AR which it should. Shotgun instead of using an AR at that distance seems like a poor choice.

Take a look at the likes of Brandon Johnson. Campaigns on the police being racist making the election an emotional rather than logical. Since the emotion is the police are racist, that means the system is, meaning you can let the sweet and innocent soon to be Harvard grads commit whatever violent crime they damn near wish. They get arrested. They get released because they were arrested by evil white racists who Brandon Johnson has claimed on several occasions just want to see the black man be slaves again. Because Brandon Johnson got them out and since they were only in there because the white man wanted slaves he wins brownie points for the next reelection cycle.
Welcome to late stage identity politics, where your leaders will call you racist because your mother was shot by a black man while on his way to church, the "oppressed" people that are currently in tbe highest power of the land are given legal and economic freedoms and privileges due to their skin color while others get the exact opposite, and everybody but those voted in has to foot the bill for all the damage done. All that is missing now is reparations payed to non victims and payed by non perpetrators because the ancestors of both parties were guilty, but we only care about the white ones.

If anyone is to blame, it's the Bail-Bond industry, freaking out about losing money from violent criminals while poor people with drug charges & warrants bc they couldn't pay a ticket overfill our jails. But, don't forget their lackeys in the Conservative Media, police, Republican prosecutors, etc. They're equally culpable for lying about how bail works.
