While doing so, the suspect narrowly missed striking an officer with his truck. @@Vladpryde I live in a town about 60 minutes from LAX and we have little to no crime. Once a year someone tries to break into the local market and that's about it. But I've also lived in Chicago on 81st & Pulaski and I heard gunshots out my apartment window nearly every night. Crime isn't a "California thing"; it's a criminal thing, and it tends to happen wherever there are cities run by dems.

Me and I'll tell you why lol I was a victim of crime and I was so traumatized that I developed almost like a phobia of leaving my house, so I read about this treatment where you deliberately watch videos of what you are fearing in order to somehow conquer it. It's probably a crock, but I'm trying anything at this point. My situation was violent because I was held up at work and we fought pretty badly.

Music takes me back, good or bad...When my dad died, certain music would remind me of him, and songs would put me in terrible moments ...PTSD episodes....But I would listen to the music over and over, and that dread and memory of pain faded. That thermal camera on the helicopter had suprising clarity. I don't normally see those kind of shots and I was shocked at the amount of detail it showed, especially at that distance.

There was no reason for him to think like that, to be honest. All the officers that attended that scene were all very nice with him. If he had cooperated when they asked, yes, he would probably have gone to jail, but at least he would have lived to tell the story.

Life is great except for a few health issues, about 5 years ago they discovered a congenital heart valve defect, improper meds after surgery caused a small stroke so now I can’t drive and live way up in these rural coastal mountains N/W of Monterey Bay and my wife has to chauffeur me around, but a beautiful place to be stuck home most of the time. I believe the Pasadena officers prevented a murder for hire or gang hit. A gang member is in an area where he doesn't belong parked on the wrong side of the street with a weapon. That's why he chose to die by police suicide because he knew either way that he was a dead man.
While I'm not questioning the actions taken by the suspect, I do think he was in an impossible situation. It was pitch black, he was in the corner of a fenced in yard, there was the K-9 actively taking him down, and he was repeatedly told to "raise your right hand". Any movement by him would have been neutralized by the K-9, making that demand impossible to meet.

At about 8:00 into this video, the suspect in the white pickup took off nearly running over a police officer. Both officers had every right to use lethal force to defend themselves. No one has the right to use their vehicle has a weapon to try to run over officers.

Was a lure for the cops to get closer for him to attempt at some shots. Didn’t quite work out in his favor though. The cops here held out long enough, pure patience even though the first officer was super suspicious very early in.

Hey, I just have a question. If a police officer stops a suspicious guy that has no ID, why not lay spike strips in front and behind the car as a precaution. If everything checks out pull them up. Why risk him killing pedestrians or officers with his car? It would at least greatly hinder his getaway. Maybe make light weight versions for that purpose.
"You're gonna die right now." I think thats way more powerful than "youre gonna get shot etc." That might make somrone else trying to pull a gun or something else think twice.
Yeah problem is that the first thing *might* be interpreted as a threat because it could be construed as you proclaiming you will kill them instead of "neutralising the threat". If you warn them to abide by a lawful order or overwhelming force will be used, that's just your training and explaining that if they become a threat, the threat will be neutralised. I also think wording like "stop it or you will die right now" or "if you do not stop I will kill you"/"I will end your life" would paint a more clear picture to someone in fight or flight mode. That being said, the officer proclaimed multiple times that he would get shot, but he didn't get shot, so moot point I guess.

Although I think "you're gonna die right now" sounds a lot better than "I'm gonna kill you." The latter seems much more personal and more of a threat than the former in my opinion
From what I can tell, police rarely are allowed to say such things because in court, a lawyer will claim those statements were an indication that the cops were bent on killing the guy no matter what.

While I'm not questioning the actions taken by the suspect, I do think he was in an impossible situation. It was pitch black, he was in the corner of a fenced in yard, there was the K-9 actively taking him down, and he was repeatedly told to "raise your right hand". Any movement by him would have been neutralized by the K-9, making that demand impossible to meet.

Imagine fleeing from police, crashing into a parked vehicle, fleeing into a random backyard, and pulling a gun on multiple cops while you're surrounded and being bitten by a dog.
The biggest red flag for the Officers was when the woman told him she loved him, and he, her, a final goodbye, just in case? Producing a weapon while being chased by police, surely he must have known the position the Officers where going to be placed in, no? Why do so many people just throw their lives away?

Hey, I just have a question. If a police officer stops a suspicious guy that has no ID, why not lay spike strips in front and behind the car as a precaution. If everything checks out pull them up. Why risk him killing pedestrians or officers with his car? It would at least greatly hinder his getaway. Maybe make light weight versions for that purpose.
"You're gonna die right now." I think thats way more powerful than "youre gonna get shot etc." That might make somrone else trying to pull a gun or something else think twice.
Yeah problem is that the first thing *might* be interpreted as a threat because it could be construed as you proclaiming you will kill them instead of "neutralising the threat".
If you warn them to abide by a lawful order or overwhelming force will be used, that's just your training and explaining that if they become a threat, the threat will be neutralised.
I also think wording like "stop it or you will die right now" or "if you do not stop I will kill you"/"I will end your life" would paint a more clear picture to someone in fight or flight mode.
That being said, the officer proclaimed multiple times that he would get shot, but he didn't get shot, so moot point I guess.
@@CFootprints Yeah I agree with you on what you said i didnt think of it like that. At the end of the day one never knows exactly how someone might respond in fight or flight mode. Although I think "you're gonna die right now" sounds a lot better than "I'm gonna kill you." The latter seems much more personal and more of a threat than the former in my opinion
From what I can tell, police rarely are allowed to say such things because in court, a lawyer will claim those statements were an indication that the cops were bent on killing the guy no matter what.

As soon as he lit that cigarette his whole demeanor changed, it was like the light went out in his eyes. He knew he wasn't going back to prison. At one point he hung his right hand out of the window & his left was hidden....made my nerves bad wondering what he was up to. They gave him plenty of chances to turn it around & sadly he chose to go out like that instead.🤦♀️

I used to live in pasadena. Loved that city.but im super impressed how fast they had a helicopter up. Usually its a quiet city.

The LAPD helicopter pads are literally off of the 110, maybe about a 3-5 min flight to Pasadena
In my experiences, Denver PD and Pasadena are by far the best Police Departments
