I agree. I just finished my first week here in Houston; living in an Airbnb in the slums of the Third Ward. T The traffic is overwhelming, and the street conditions in horrendous. I left a gorgeous North Scottsdale, AZ home for a prestigious position at MD Anderson Health. Thankfully, I found a reputable realtor who will be showing me nice properties outside the confines of the 610 Circle. The most stressful part of living here is finding a community that is a decent commute. Who enjoys spending 2-3 hours in their car five days per week. In terms of temperature, the 95-100F temperature with 75% humidity doesn't bother me. 2 weeks ago, I was living in the 118F inferno environment of Arizona. Yes, there is an abundance of ethnic diversity here, but this only goes so far. Your personal experience is spot on. Thanks for sharing
00:00 Intro 00:38 #1 Give yourself enough time to get to know Houston and the suburb you want to live in 02:28 #2 Building a new community (friends) can take a long time and can feel isolating, especially as an adult 03:58 #3 Looks can be deceptive, lots of communities look beautiful, but know that it's really school districts, location, builder, and neighborhood quality that are the main drivers of the pricing and appreciation rates in the Houston suburbs 05:12 #4 New MPCs aren't everything, consider older established homes too 07:07 #5 Houston weather is no joke (e.g. 3 Hs - hot, humid, hurricanes) 08:28 #6 It can be expensive living in Houston, especially property taxes and home insurance 09:27 #7 Diversity

I visited Houston twice before moving from Chicago like 13 years back
