    I've watched a lot of Houston Texas living videos and yours is very honest. Others are too, but they omit the crime when listing the cons. That's a huge factor. I was aware of the crime, but seeing a realtor mention it is refreshing! Thank you.

      @@aaronlathan I am thinking of moving there because my father was born in Center, TX. I was there for a family reunion in August. But Houston or surrounding ciities is where I want to move. My cousin lives in Settegast and I lived with my sister in Acres Homes on Little York in 2015 but came back to LA the same year. But now looking to move there again. Houston and Atlanta I consider 2nd city homes. I know both fairly well. But Houston seems to be calling more for me since I go every year anyway.

    Anyone considering moving to Houston area and buying a house i would recommend getting a foundation inspection and making sure the house has a sprinkler system or installing one. The ground here is clay and moves constantly leading to foundation issues. Ive owned two house in Houston and both have had foundation issues. I never see anyone speak about this, it was so bad last summer that it took at least a month to get a foundation company come to my house for a inspection.

      Houston has the worst soil lol. It’s why most new builds have a 10 year foundation warranty.

    • @aaronlathan
      @aaronlathan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea based on the numbers I’ve seen for the schools that’ll be the concern that far away from Houston but like everywhere it’ll get better each year. Congrats on the move in advance 👍🏽

      You should check out The Highlands in Porter as well. Aaron has done a couple videos on that community as well. It is kind of similar to Tavolo but a little bit more. Upscale it is actually closer to the city than that particular community and you have access to get to the Woodlands Spring Texas and 59 is also very close as well. They’re also going to build a HEB which is very similar to. I think Publix in your your part of the world and that’s gonna be right there by the Highland as well so that might be another community that she might want to consider, as far as the school district we are actually in the new Caney ISD as well. It is getting a little bit more diverse the further south you are in the new Caney ISD I have northern portions of new Caney ISD they are going to be less diverse as well.

      @@aaronlathan also, do you support those who are looking to rent homes? I’m a homeowner in GA and being new to TX would like to ensure purchasing a home here would be good. So prefer to rent first. Specifically homes. I love Katy and Cypress - new build rentals. I’m a mom so schools are vital

    • @aaronlathan
      @aaronlathan  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So I help clients rent that are actively building. Otherwise I have partners that handle the rentals for me while I handle the purchase when you’re ready. I find that most clients that have the fear of not knowing where they really want to be get it sorted out if they’ve got enough time to be here about a week. That’s enough time to narrow it down to general areas that would be a good fit in my experience. If you’re narrowing it down to Katy ISD and Cy Fair ISD and new that really narrows it down to your budget. I’d only encourage renting first if you have absolutely no idea what part of Houston you want to be in at all lol

Considering, renting would be ideal and offers me the peace until I’m ready to make that decision. Also, yes I have no idea exactly where I want to land lol, so I think I should go with renting (for now). How does it work with your other team regarding rentals? Currently reside in LV so plan to fly out either in March or April to solidly a place. And relocating in May.

    Great video, me and my family are thinking about moving to Houston from Jacksonville Florida so the crime and property taxes weren’t that shocking and isn’t a deal breaker but we do have 2 toddler and diversity and school quality is top priority. After watching your video and doing some research Katy and cypress are our favorites. We would like to move further out to take advantage of the lower housing cost but not at the detriment of diversity. Are these two areas as diverse as everyone say they are?

    • @aaronlathan

      Long Lake was the first new construction home I sold in my career so I always have a special spot for them. But like any builder whether entry level or high end you need to trust but verify. Phased inspections are a must if you’re building. Sounds like a plug but also having representation that sell new construction homes to help you filter through BS. Most of the people that leave bad reviews often buy solo and are then shocked that no one had their best interest in mind. Becomes them vs the builder and the builder’s employees.
