    Love these videos dude! I love this car. I'd want different rims, but otherwise it's beautiful. Can't tell if the R/T stripes are red or orange. Both would look great, but ride would look even nice if that's possible. Thanks for doing these awesome videos! Love them!

    Literally my dream car. I love cars of all different shapes and sizes but that is my dream. 440 with a shaker in a 71 Challenger. Perfection

    Perfect and nice car. One thing: the "440 SIXPACK" emblems on the shaker bubble are mounted incorrectly. The thicker part has to look forward.

    That 440 six pack so powerful it could probably outrun some muscle cars from 302 or 426 and the 350 class engine

    Great color combo. Maybe the "stealthiest" Challenger I've seen so far.

    that could not look meaner. lol on comment 'caution tape'...so true. must have the super performance axle or track pack, A32 or A34, whatwith 4.10's and power discs...doubling the 'caution'. def one of my favs that y'all have shown...if it had a stick, it would be my fav. thx for showing

      You know what's crazy, my whole life I never liked the Cudas or the old Challengers. Not sure why, but I have always loved old cars but not those two. Well, something finally clicked and I saw them the right way and now, while I can't say it's my favorite, it's very very near the top. Weird how I just didn't dig them and one day I saw a video of a beautiful black 70 or 71 Cuda and I have been in love with both styles ever since. There are some of both I don't like, but the ones I do like are beautiful. I'm that way with any car though. Plenty of old car models that I like some, but not others due to paint job or other details like a convertible. Never been a fan of them.

    The 727 in this car is the same one found in hemi cars. Wider front drum capable of holding 6 clutch discs, wider front band, and 4 pinion planetaries made it one of the toughest automatics in the business.

    I really enjoy the ephisodes, keep them comin'! There were 2 things, not being picky, but all the 440 HP motors came with 4 bolt mains and my single 4bbl 440 R/T is rated @ 375 HP and 485 ft pds of torque.

    Vanishing Point with Barry Newman. I would prefer a 4 speed with pistol grip shifter.

    I had a 70 cuda 440 automatic with a 4:10 gear and lost about every stoplight race I every did, I had to take off slow and get to 20 before I punched it or else it would just spin. You could literally just floor it from a stop and spin the tires till they popped.

    I love my 2018 challenger RT, but the things I would do to have the honor of owning a 71 RT 440 sixpack.
    Are just Unspeakable literally if anyone knew the things I’d be willing to do I’d be Shot.

    The R/T Challenger is my favorite musclecar of all time. Having said that, the 440 Magnum with single Carter 4 bbl was a better choice for the street---multiple carbs need tuning to keep 'em synchronized. The E body from that generation were some of the most beautifully-styled musclecars of all time

    Those things are big nearly a foot longer than 1st gen camaro\mustang they clearly used for inspiration. They are wider too and certainly look bigger than actually are. Still IMO the best looking Mopars's ever made prior to the Viper.

      Cheef Cherokee Yes. Shorter for sure and given that I don't see how it would not have been lighter.

    personally with that kind of low end Id rather have a 3.00 gear for greater top end cruising. other wise cant take it anywhere, especially with todays double overdrive cars.

    0-60 and 1/4 test?

    • @orange70383
      @orange70383 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      0~60 was in mid 5's and many sources ran these 440+6's around 13.6~13.7 in stock trim. Add street slicks and bump up the timing and they ran about a second quicker.

    Nice ride, I wonder if the mustang cobrajet 428 would outperform it on the strip.

    • @01trsmar
      @01trsmar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, Not if they both had similar axle ratio's..The 440 would beat it..Remember all old car tests were bogus..See the huge tire smoke and tire spinning this car did..They all did it and thats how they were recorded,thus slowing times off by 1 to 4 seconds 0-60 and 1/4 mile,depending on tests and car....
      428 SCJ was really a 405 hp engine and the 440 6bbl was over 450 hp the 440 4bbl Magnum was 410 hp..
      I grew up in a 1967 Mercury Cougar GT 390 high performance Moms car and a 70 Plymouth Cuda 440 6 barrel,Dads car(still has the Cuda he is in his 80's now)..My Uncle had a Torino 428 SCJ and the Cuda over powered both of them..
      I bought a stock 68 Charger RT 440 4bbl Magnum,727 auto and 3.23 gear and I could edge out the 428 SCJ Torino he had the 3.91 gear in it !! He had the factory 4.30 gear but he couldnt drive on the highway lol,so he put the 3.91 in it..
      I ran 12.80's in my bone stock Charger once radial tires were on it,bias ply tires would run low - mid 13's,but I did run twice at 12.97 & 12.99 after a huuge burnout,I usually didnt burn the tires to warm them up,it was/is my baby and just walked the car out (didnt floor it in 1st gear usually because it just spins)I had 225 70 14's radials in 1980 I could ease out in 1st then hammer it and hope it hooked around 20 ish mph...
      It got down to 12.40's with rejetted carb,headers,traction bars,turbo mufflers again stock engine never rebuilt with 130,000 miles by 1980..Car was never a daily driver thus lower miles..Most had 150,000 - 200,000 if they drove them daily in the 80's..Uncles Torino had 220,000 miles by 1981..I know I helped him rebuild the engine and repaint the car .We kept cars looking factory stock,besides traction bars and wider tires..He kept detailed records and after 99,999 it was new again 00,000 miles!!
      Remember old times recorded were with tires spinning (loss of traction slows cars down) and 195 75 series bias ply tires...1969-1974 Wide Tread Tires were only 215 wide 60 series Bias Ply Tires,couldnt hook up in any performance car of the era...
      FYI SCJ Torino ran low 12's with the 4.30 gear and so called drag slicks of the day that didnt hook up,worse than a 225 70 series radial of 1980 !! Dads Cuda ran low 12's and his best was 11.91 in the 1/4 stock engine,headers,carbs re jetted,traction bars 275 pro trac tires and over 110,000 miles on the car ! Cougar was a high 13 second ride,only raced it a few times in the early 70's..13.90 car ,again all these cars spun the tires like mad off the line even with drag slicks and period tires..Even radials couldnt hook up..My new Hellcat hooks better than these older cars ,its easier to make it get up and go..
      We had many more cars and I still do have the 68 Charger RT and my Uncles Torino SCJ 428,he passed years ago and he left it for me in his Will...His kids didnt care or want it nor helped him fix it/maintain it..I always got it running and cleaned up,even the last 11 years when he couldnt drive anymore..He would sit in it,start it ,I took him for rides and maintained it..His kids couldnt even take him for a ride in it,unreal ! Best it ran with same tires as my 68 Charger RT was 12.92 and 4 mph less !! The 4.30's woke it up..
      FYI,new cars with 6 speeds,8 speeds,10 etc are like having old cars with 4.56 gear ratio's !! The 1st gear on the 6--10 speeds are very low...I wish they had overdrive invented in the 60's lol...
      Elevation also plays a huge roll in how quick/slow a car is also if its hot or humid that slows it down..i like Friday Night drags in late September/October for best times !
      **I am mor eof a Mopar guy but have a Torino 428 SCJ and a 72 Mustang Mach 1 with a 1971 429 build up ..Plus my 68 Charger RT 440 was rebuilt and now a 512 c.i monster ! 71 Cuda 440 6bbl (was a 340 car) 71 Chevelle SS 396 (402) and a few more older & newer Mopars oh and a 66 Mercury Monterey 2 door with a 410 c.i..
