I used to work a Dyno Dynamics dyno, I wouldn't allow anyone to be anywhere near those rollers or have anyone standing anywhere near the car when doing a run. Madness.

Most of this could have been avoided by not smoking crack and meth.
Accidents can always happen. That’s the reason why rule #1 around cranes is: Never get underneath the load. The same applies at such dynos but then horizontally; Never get nearby them while running the test.

If you stand within 10 feet of a car on a dyno then you're pretty soft in the head, I've seen cars pivot off during a pre OBD emissions test at a much lower RPM.
Darwin Awards candidates, every one of those fools standing mere feet from steel parts revolving at 10,000 rpm.
Thinking the same myself , and not to mention if the car breaks the straps while a dude is near it and jumps off the dyno , he/she could be having a very bad day .
That's for the engien. Turbos are closer to 150,000 or even more...

Pro Tip: Running an engine on a dyno is only a few second function. Not 20 seconds under full load.
Or in most of these cases, until it blows.
yea not to mention specs of the dyno... not going full beans at higher speeds etc... lol
a few of them might have just been a catastrophic engine failure due to bad tune/air fuel ratio/timing (pre-ignition, detonation)

the essence of the engine is that it can run at maximum power for a long time. if it falls apart after 20 seconds, then it's a piece of garbage

When a car manufacturer tests an engine on the dyno for regular use on the street, they run it at wide open throttle nonstop for a few days, But with the power mods some of these engines have they will only last for short pulls on the dyno, or maybe the drag strip. Or maybe less in these cases.
@@OggyXXXL all engines on the video are out of the factory spec due to bolted by idiots turbos and who knows which another modifications. Is there any surprise that they fall apart?
The one at 2:30 was so clearly telegraphed too. THE EXAUST PIPE WAS LITERALLY EXPANDING DUE TO THE PRESSURE! That should be a clear shut down sign.

BIG Dave Generally they have fans blowing air from the front, but yeah, a lot of these didn’t.
Also the dyno doesn’t offer the resistance that the road does, allowing for catastrophic failure levels of RPM.
Nathan Stark Decent dynos usually get a good source of wind blowing directly towards the vehicle, wether it be a high powered fan or something.

I love how the spirit of the engine comes out in an explosion, balls of smoke and fire.
My favorite by far is the 6:10 minute mark, the one where the engine said, my people need me and launched itself through the front frame of the car followed by a HUGE fireball. Impressive. It takes a whole lot of "lets just use the cheap parts except for the turbo/supercharger/nitrus" mentality. I don't feel bad for those that blow up their own engines, I feel sorry for those poor folks who had the dyno blowup on them. I hope those shops had insurance. And please, do NOT stand on a running dyno, and never anywhere in front of or behind one. if parts are gona fly off, they generally are going to go one of those directions, but not limited to so always stand clear. preferably behind a shield or window.

I would also advise covering the timing belt but I think there was a catastrophic engine failure that preceded the belt coming off.

It's where the engine runs most efficient. You usually want to be at least at the red line or above it, otherwise you risk running inefficiently. You should try it, the difference is remarkable!

Yep, I always vertical film and when there is a failure, I ALWAYS point the camera at the floor, just in case.

u dont shift on a dyno, u want to go in the gear nearest to 1:1 ratio and look at peak power (located at top rpm)
